Mathew almost felt like crying but there were no tears to be had; the empty place inside had been filling up. His thoughts were always of the girl at his side, he only wished he was always there for her, as she was for him. However, he couldn't be selfish; she had responsibilities beyond taking care of his happiness. He nuzzled his nose over the top of her head, and took her chin with his thumb and forefinger of his left hand, trying to fish another kiss out of her.

Serenity pressed her lips to his threading her arms around his neck.
She wished she could live like this forever, never ending never changing. Yet life had a different plan for her. The spirits were restless and so were the supervillains. Now she didin't even think about the life she had outside of the person whom she had wholeheartedly fallen in love with.

Mathew still pulled her close even as they parted. He rested his forehead against hers, catching his breathe. It had been a while; a long while. He probably sucked at it, but she was a brilliant kisser, making him self concious. the fire cracked and snapped and reflected in his eyes small flames.

((Sooooo sorry for the absense XCCCCCCCCC)) Serenity grinned as she caught her breath. "Well this is some Christmas." she said with a smile spreading it's way across her face. She was addicted to this, to him, and to what they had. Psychology couldn't even begin to explain how she felt now. She thought she would know what this would be like but she was wrong. It was much better.

Mathew cradled her head in onde hand and held her side with the other. The moment was so perfect but all perfect moments come to an end. Mathew released her from his embrace when he heard the front door swing open. His heart skipped a beat, for a moment thinking one of his constant persuers had found out where he had been staying.
Worse.
Her mother just walked in on their make out session. Then again, for a mom, she was pretty cool about that kind of stuff. Mathew jumped up when the oven sounded. Feeling saved by the bell, he hurried out of the room to get the cookies. Serenity was on better terms with her mother than he was.

Serenity sighed and turned to face her mother. She had seen her bursting in but at a later time at least if the level of the flames was anything to go by... well that's where the flames were... "So are we going to have this talk again or did the one we had earlier suffice?" she asked glancing at her mother's light blue eyes and lighter blond hair.
Looking at the two psychics it was easy to see they were related. Marie had the same facial features as her daughter and the same unnatural grace when she moved. Although said daughter had her emerald gaze focused on the retreating figure of Mathew.
Marie sighed and flicked her hair out of her face and tied it back in a pony tail, "No once will do." she said with a disapproving look. "So he didn't like my cooking." she said glancing at the glowing necklace around her daughters neck and switched her weight onto her right foot, her heels weren't very comfortable but they were warm surprisingly.
Serenity let her hand trace over the symbol etched in the surface of the diamond. "Neither did I actually." she said with a grin. "It would've sent Sorina to the afterlife." she said with a smirk and glanced back at the burning down fire. They had not been busy that long...
