Mathew exhaled in a happy chuckle, as a his neck went limp and he found himself looking at his feet. "You're just... you..." he looked up to the sky, and shook his head slowly as if he were trying to find the right words. "you just amaze me. Everytime I get nervous, it's over nothing, you never judge; I feel so accepted. You really apreciate me for who I am." He looked her in the eyes, his face glowing in what appeared to be disbeleif, his mouth opening in a silent smile. No, he couldn't say the L word. Not just yet. He exhaled heavily, realizing yet again that he had forgotten how to breathe. He relaxed his shoulders in surrender. "Would it be alright if... may I kiss you?"

She didn't know how to put the feelings she had for him into words. She didn't know how to tell him that she felt so extactic every time she could have a conversation with Sorina around him and not be considered insane, how she could throw around sarcastic humor with him and not miss a beat in the conversation, how he never blamed her when she couldn't see something coming, how she loved the glitter in his eyes whenever he used his powers.
She smiled at his question and muttered his name letting the one word say everything that she was incapable of putting into proper words. Then she kissed him.

Mathew was caught by surprise, his eyes grew wide as her lips met his. He relaxed, closing his eyes and kissing her back. His arm wrapped around her and he gently pulled her closer.
A pleasant surprise, indeed.
A gentle breeze rolled by when they parted. Mathew smiled looking into her entrancing eyes once again. They stood there in silence, as he waited for the feeling to return to his legs. Then as if nothing had happened he said, "Let's go inside. I already put some wood in the fireplace."

She nodded, "ok." she said trying to ignore the fact that her voice was breathy. She let her hand slip back into his and opened her front door with her other arm. One day she really might bother to lock it but today her mind was otherwise occupied.
"Thank-you," she said with a smile. She wasn't quite sure what she was thanking him for but he deserved to be thanked. If not for one of the most enjoyable days she had ever experienced then for just being there for her.

"None needed." he rolled his eyes as he spoke, stepping into the warm house. He removed his boots before his coat, kicking them off without bothering to untie them. He removed his coat, revealing that he had indeed attempted to dress up.
He pushed the sleeve of his white dress shirt near his elbows and tugged down on a dark blue sweater vest that tightened to show how lean he was. Unfortunately, the ends of his shirt didn't tuck into his black pants and he came across as an angsty punk kid forced to go to a private school and wear a uniform. The dreads didn't help the effect, even when he tied them back.
"I'm going to go ahead and get the fire going." he said, eager to warm up. The living room was close by, and he had thought of dragging Serenity into the next room but felt she would just follow him. He hadn't really ever had a fireplace and was somewhat excited to have an indoor fire to warm by. He crouched down and pulled a green bic lighter from the back of his pants.

((Sorry my winter fashion sense sucks)) Serenity smiled as she walked into the room after him having left her boots by the door next to his. She had also gotten rid of her coat leaving the snow soaked coat next to his. But she kept her silver legwarmers and scarf on. It was still cold and she preferred the warmth of the knitted silver wool to the cold of the house at the moment.
She sighed with annoyance as she felt the ends of her wet jeans trailed on the ground slightly. They hadn't done that while she was wearing the boots but the water wasn't a problem, it was just... wet... and annoying.
She smiled slightly. Yes she had seen that coming but hadn't done anything to stop it. The future could be funny sometimes, she thought to herself and let her hand trace the symbol that Mathew had engraved in the necklace that she planned on never letting her eyes off of.
She breathed out softly and sat down next to him her white knitted sweater matching nicely with her silver scarf and legwarmers. She curled her legs under her letting her snow covered hair dry from the warmth of the fire. "I bet it'll take an hour for my hair to dry." she laughed quietly as she ran a hand through it to dispose of the snow, "Sad thing is it isn't very wet." she said brushing it out of her way and glancing over at Mathew.
He really had tried to clean his appearance up for today with the vest and dress shirt. Although it hadn't quite come across as the look he had wanted it was the thought that counted. She should know. "What should we get to eat, we don't have anything in the fridge. So it's pretty much take out or pizza." she said with a shrug, even if they did know how the food would turn out, neither her or her mom were very good cooks. So they didn't really bother. Mathew was a better cook then she was actually. She knew how to dial the pizza place down the corner. That was about it.

The fire had lit up quickly, without kindling, insinuating that Mathew had cheated in his firebuilding. He stood quickly and a large red stocking caught in his hair. He pouted goofily and shook it off as he approached Serenity with a bounce in his step. "Lets make cookies!" he exclaimed joyfully. Certainly she had milk and eggs. He could probably provide the rest. He grabbed her gentle by the wrist and bounded into the kitchen full of excitment.

Oh yeah cookies made by one of the worst cooks on the face of the earth. And probably a few other worlds as well, she'd have to ask Rena about that one though. "Ok then, but it's at your own risk." she joked and pulled out the milk and eggs, that much she knew was in cookies. "Grab the sugar would you." she said reaching into the cupboards to grab a bowl. Why did it have to be in the very back. Very very back.
"Ugh." she grumbled as she just barely avoided having something land on her head. This was one of the times being little wasn't a good thing.

<<once cookies are in oven we can go back to romantic stuff XD>> Mathew chuckled his bright happy chuckle again as he dropped a gallon of milk, eggs, a stick of butter, flour, and a package of sugar on the counter top. They were still missing baking powder and salt because he hadn't been able to find them in her kitchen. He just figured he would make them from the sugar when it came time for them. He tapped her on the nose playfully with his forefinger as if to dismiss her negativity like he had done in the past. "Not if I can help it." He laughed softly and asked her "can you preheat the oven, at least? 400 degrees, I will cream the sugar and butter together,"

Serenity chuckled under her breath, "Yeah I can. Ouch!" she grumbled as a pot fell on her head. She would get that dove to deal with it later when she finished at the graveyard in the morning. She had gone to great lengths to ditch the dove. Her mother didn't need so much prompting. Well that and she could see what would happen, although the blond didn't know exactly how she felt about that.
She quickly glanced at the bowl for a moment as she placed it next to the ingredients and turned the dial on the oven to one hundred and twenty seven point five degrees. These cookies that Mathew was trying to make would be best cooked slowly rather than quickly. "They'll take an hour and three minutes to cook." she said with a grin and walked over to the bowl of ingredients, "Ok so now what Mr. Cook?" she asked poking the side of the sugar.
