"Lets see... lots of chemistry, physics, some mechanical, and tons of random general knowlege info I picked up over the years. Oh, and I can make things besides cookies. I know how to follow a recipe." he said as he transfered the last of the cookies over to the sheet." He tore off a bit of raw dough from the part she had just rolled out and began chewing on it "You know, my mom always told me not to eat the dough or else Id get sick but I was always sneaky enough to get some. Theres nothing wrong with cookie dough; its a government conspiracy, I tell you." he joked.

Serenity smiled and tore a piece of the cookie dough after she had checked the future to make sure that his mother hadn't been right. "Well my mom told me the same thing," she said taking a bite of the cookie dough. "But then again it was her cooking." she said letting the taste of the cookie dough fill her mouth. "Why do we cook the cookies if they taste better uncooked?" she asked her hand snaking to the uncooked dough and taking another piece.

"Because you can't decorate an uncooked cookie, and thats where all the fun is.... but I guess the extras are up for grabs." He said, nudging her suggestively. He put the last of the cookies in the oven and thus sealed the fate of the extra scraps. As soon as the timer was set he pinched off a bit more himself but then held out in front of her face as if to pull the cheesy romantic move of feeding ones partner.

Serenity grinned and at her exact timing with the timer. Well if they remembered the timer then the cookies taste like they were made in an LA bakery, or even something more expensive. Mathew would have to cook more often he was good.
She flicked her pony tail out of the way as she glanced back at him. She smiled as she took a bite of the dough, and grabbed a small piece of the dough from behind her and held it out to him.

Mathew graciousy bit a large portion of the offering, again making a goofy yummy sound as he did so. He ran his now free hand smoothly across her face to push the hair that wasn't even there anymore out of her face. He was definitley an ally in her war on annoying hair tendencies. "What do you want to do for the next hour three minutes then?" He said, though he already knew. "lets enjoy the fire while we still have it.

Serenity smiled and pulled another piece of dough out of the scraps and popped it into her mouth. "One hour three minutes and twenty three seconds." she corrected with a smile and sashayed into the other room as she removed her cream sweater relieving a white tank top with lace trim on the bottom.
"There's always the christmas specials on TV." she said sitting on the ground by the fire and tucking her legs underneath her.

Mathew followed her, turning back only once to look at the cookie dough scraps. He found them more addicting than anything he'd tried in his life; quite a feat of addicting....ness....? However, he found the natural pull of wanting to be with Serenity stronger and followed her like a puppy. It was their alone time after all; he could be clingy if he wanted. As Mathew dimmed the lights the fire cast its light dancing in each of the ornaments of the christmas tree. The air, smelling of evergreen, was thick with warmth and Mathew himself shed a layer and tossed the blue sweatervest on the nearby couch. He took a seat next to Serenity, his legs spread in front of him, leaning back on his hands. He cast her a sideways glance and said, "The fire is just as good. Better even." The fire had devoured some of the logs, but still flowed well and strong. Mathew didn't really get a good impression on christmas specials; even at the age of eight he found them atrociously cheesy. Also, he secretly found puppets to be creepy.

Serenity chuckled at the thought of ignoring the Christmas specials she definitely wasn't adverse to skipping out on that part of the holiday season. They were always very predictable even without seeing exactly how they ended ahead of time.
She glanced back at Mathew and leaned back so she was using his shoulder as her pillow. "It really is beautiful." she said with a smile pulling her necklace back and forth on it's chain. She was still in shock that he had not only made the jewel himself but that he had given it to her.

"Yeah, now that you mention it, I find it rather entrancing... and romantic. Who knew that the combustion of carbon and volatile organic compounds could be so calming? Exspecially when science makes it sound so violent." He laughed at his little joke, again realized yet again he had begun rattling off useless information. The fire's warmth engulfed him and he felt like they had been covered with a blanket. He tucked Serenity's head into his shoulder by tilting his head softly to rest it on hers. His right hand brushed her shoulder and rested just above her hip, softly holding them together. He began to realize something: everytime he ever touched her he was always very gentle. It was as if he was afraid that he might break her. He didn't really think of her as frail, nor of himself as mighty. It was just a subconcious habit of his.

Serenity chuckled using his shoulder to hide her laughter. "Well that's nice to know," she said with a smile playing at her lips. She sighed lazily reveling in the moment. Other than knowing everything about chemistry, he had the ability to bring her into the moment.
Away from the restless spirits of the outside world, the supervillains who wanted to blow the city up, the titans who were all discovering themselves, and the futures that awaited them. None of it mattered. She was here and the time was now. That was all that mattered.
