"Alright, so not too far then" she said, somewhat disappointed, she did like walking, and this time, it wasn't behind her mask of Nella, but if she didn't, well she couldn't exactly walk around nicely for long before something or rather'll happen. She smiled, as she spoke. "Heh, It'll be fun to try and hear you speak it, since you kinda gotta sing-song it" Rena said, her minnesotan accent, quick, a bit slurred into the next, a bit of a flat tone, but you could tell that she was happy.

Serenity sighed resigning herself to a lot of hard work, she could see a lot of mistakes in her future as well. Hopefully she would be able to at least avoid to many horrible mistakes if she kept an eye on her own future. Hopefully anyway, "Yeah it's not to far, my mom's out now so we both don't have to listen to her ranting about bringing FBI's most wanted home." she muttered the fight with her mother hadn't actually taken place at all, it was a possible future that they both had chosen not to repeat as they could hold entire conversations in the future as they made decisions to effect what they would both see.

"Something we can do while we walk." Rena started, taking a deep breath so that she could talk longer with the air to move her vocal cords. "The chinese language is complicated for westerners due to their un-toned voices. The chinese dialect is based on their tones to distinguish words, rather than pronounciation. There's the flat tone, where you stay at one note, the upwards tone, where you start on one note, and move up to the next. Then there's the fluctuating one, where you start on a note, go down to one lower, and then there's the downwards. Where you start on one note, then go down one note. It's not really singing, but it's a way to start it off." she said, releasing the rest of her breath, glad for the one power she kept secret, about not being able to breath, allowed her to draw out large sentences, without pausing for breath.

Serenity nodded trying to remember everything that Rena listed off listening to it once in the future and once in the present to try to catch everything that she had said, "So very complex then got it." she said deciding to take notes on what Rena had said just now so she wouldn't loose all the information later. Thankfully now she could see all the notes written down so she wouldn't have to much memorization to do just yet. That would be nice.
"Anything else that's drastically different?"

"Their Music?" Rena asked jokingly, with a smile on her face, giggling a little, even though it might look kinda lame laughing at her own joke. Though, Chinese singing was odd, as the tones forced them to compromise and be careful, so they don't say another word, while actually singing song notes. But it sounded nice, as they had to take it all into consideration.

Serenity rolled her eyes yet a smile spread across her face of its own accord she knew sarcasm when she heard it and responded in kind, "So pronunciation isn't complex enough?" she grinned a smile spreading across her face. She didn't get many times where she could be herself without the impending doom of the city resting on her shoulders. Rena was often just as fun loving as she herself was.
It made for good conversations, "Take a right here." she said as they came up to a residential area. They would be by her house soon. Not that it was very impressive but it would do for the three people currently living in it now.

Rena turned right, following Serenity as she led the way to the house she was in. Already feeling slightly embarrassed, as Serenity's house was probably a lot cleaner than her two bedroom apartment. Rena spoke, but not in English, but in a different language. Her dark eyes showed nothing in terms of emotion or anything like that, so it forced one to look elsewhere for her emotions, i.e. body posture and facial expressions, but it was weird. "Ni Hao" she said with the upwards tone on the first word, and the up-down-up tone on the second word. "That's Hello in Chinese" and then she said it again, this time with the up-down-up tone on both. "Either of these pronunciations work, as you can use an upwards tone in place of an up-down-up town, only when followed directly by an up-down-up tone." she explained.

Serenity muttered it under her breath a few times trying to get the hang of the different pronunciation. It was much different then what she was used to speaking, like singing but not quite. She would get it with such a good coach. A difficult teacher, she doubted Rena would be an easy teacher.
No way, this would be good for the blond though, she would at least master it quickly. "Ni hao," she said pronouncing it almost correctly just using a down-up-down tone rather than the correct up-down-up. "I mean Ni hao." she said pronouncing it correctly on her second try.

"There ya go, you got the word that everyone in the buisness on Earth knows" she said, smiling looking around at the buildings, turning to walk backwards, to avoid looking at Serenity. Their friendship was forbidden, that much would be obvious, and Serenity was too close to the titans to reveal anything too much about herself, such as her motives, and her alter-ego of the gamer girl, which was her hobby, hey... Super villains, even Blacklist, had other hobbies besides bugging the Titans, or world domination. Her's was... Well, Halo franchise had great multi-player, she loved roleplaying games with great stories, and party games, though.. she didn't have TOO many gaming friends. "Hey... I've got a question... Who's the guy that I fought at... well... at /that/ time, the one all dressed in green, the Plant master dude, who thought he was 'all that'."

Serenity glanced over her shoulder at the back of Rena's head, why would she want to know that, "That was Green." she said thoughts of different pronunciations out of her head completely. Well that was one way to change the subject.
The two of them had fought for a while there until Serenity had had to deal with the spirits in the police station. "Who won that fight anyway, he never said," she had her suspicions that the black eyed teleporter had won the battle but she would keep her opinions to herself until she knew the facts.
