Good point" Rena acknowledged, her smile faltering a little as she remembered just how much skin was going to be shown. "Oh right, Notebooks, because learning a language isn't like book-learning, you gotta practice, to get your muscles to form the right words. So you need to actually practice. And have you figured out which language you want, or do you want to stick to Chinese?" she asked, letting go of the mouthful of words with an intake of breath.

Serenity smiled as she placed the shopping bag over her shoulder unconsciously compensating for the weight of the bag. She hadn't considered the thought that she would actually need to practice speaking writing and understanding a language. Usually she just looked into the future to a time when she had mastered whatever skill she needed to learn. It was her easy way out of learning. She hadn't considered that this would be any different.
"I have notebooks at my house." she said with a smile, "A lot of em too." she said with a grin. "And I'll stick to Chinese." she said condemning herself to a lot of hard work and effort.

Hee hee" Rena giggled, smiling, knowing she had just gotten past Serenity's way of learning. She slipped her hand out of Serenity's grip, walking behind her a couple steps, so that she could lead the way to wherever Serenity wanted to go. "So... Where should we go now?" she asked, as they exited the wal-mart.
Rena removed the sunglasses pocketing them in her shirt-pocket, and reached inside her pockets, looking for something. "Aha!" she said, taking out a small object. Two circles connected by a short lee-way between them. A contact's case. "¿Choto Mate?" she asked, thinking of putting them in, speaking in a different language without realizing it.

Serenity glanced over her shoulder at Rena and sighed. It was interesting for her as here was a perfect example of code switching. Or whatever it was called. When someone knew two languages and switched back and forth between them without even thinking about it psychologists called it code switching or something like that. She hadn't actually learned about it yet so she wasn't an expert on it.
"You do realize that I have no idea what you just said right?" she asked with a smile turning her gaze back toward where they were headed, "I was thinking my house would be safe, hell there's already one convicted criminal there two shouldn't be a problem." she said after a moment.

"Ah, wari, My bad" she said, smiling a little. It was at times hard not to switch between languages. Usually she kept it in check, but when she was in a comfortable position, she often didn't pay attention to it. "Hold up, I wanna put in some contacts" she said, opening the case, and stuck her finger in her mouth, to quickly clean it, and wiped it off on her pants. "Helps me see y'know" she smiled as she said it. The contacts were coloured blue.

Serenity shrugged, "I've got no problem with it." she said and leaned against the wall in the street, "But wouldn't that be better to do in private when no one can see you?" she asked after a moment. She didn't want to exactly get Rena caught by someone this afternoon although if the future continued at it's current pace they should be in the clear....
Although that could change at a moment's notice.

Well, probably, but the sunglasses bug me, and my eyes hurt after awhile if I don't wear anything." she said dabbing one into her eye, placing it the reflectionless black of her eyes, where now covered by a contact, that DID reflect. "Well how do I look with blue eyes?" she asked, holding her eyes open so serenity could see. A tear fell down as her eye got used to the new object within it, though now that it was in, One eye atleast didn't blur Serenity's frame at all.

Serenity smiled at Rena's new eyes, "They fit you actually." she said after a second's thought. She didn't need much she could look into the future and see what she would need to see. The contact's color made Rena look more human then she did normally, she fit into the world as it was in the current moment.
"But their a mask that your hiding behind." she said with a sad sigh.

It's better than the police getting in on my case about them" she said, wiping the tear away, and started putting in the second one. "Besides, it's not like I don't need them, I'm clinically a 40-30 sight" she said smiling a bit. She was far-sighted, meaning closer objects were a bit blurry. "I'm supposed to wear corrective lenses all the time, y'know" And with that reasoning, Rena convinced herself it wasn't just a mask to hide behind. SHe didn't like masks, which was the reason she never hid her face when doing... questionable... activities with the law.

Serenity shrugged and glanced at the contact case, "Huh well I've always had good vision so I don't really know what it's like." she said with a thoughtful expression spreading across her face. "So your far-sided then." she said with a glance back at the new eyes.
"So you don't wear contacts all the time?" she asked with a delicately raised eyebrow. When blowing up buildings and causing havoc in general it seemed like a much better idea to have the best vision possible.
