(Wow this took a while to type lol hope it isn't too much)
It was completely quiet in the abandoned house except for the occasional rat that skittered across the floor. Vivian was still laying against the wall with the pillow behind her head when she began to stir in her sleep and her eyes slowly opened. She looked around the room, forgetting where she was for a moment, then slowly sat herself up. She looked over at Serenity, who was asleep, and wondered how long they've been here.
She sighed and looked down at her wounds, which had already closed up and were quickly healing. She stayed there for a moment in silence when her stomach began growling. She sighed again and looked around hoping to find something simple to eat, but there wasn't anything around. She didn't want to get up, but she had to find something to eat before she ended up having Serenity for her meal.
Vivian slowly lifted herself off the floor, using the wall as support, and began limping around the house looking for something. After about fifteen minutes she found nothing, but rats, which she refused to eat. She was about to give up when she heard the sound of paws in the room next to her.
Vivian quickly walked into the next room, but saw nothing there except for numerous cupboards and couches all spread out. She sighed and started walking out of the room think it was just her imagination, when she heard the sound again. She quickly turned around, but a bit too fast. Her chest wound exploded with pain and sent her stumbling to the floor, gasping in pain. She steady herself against the doorframe and slowly lowered herself to the door.
A dark shadow landed on Vivian and she quickly looked up, coming face to face with a big, wet, pink tongue. She cried out in disgust, backing away from whatever had just licked her. After wiping off the drool with her sleeve she looked back at her surprise "attacker".
It was a dog, a German Shepherd to be exact.
It was just staring at her, it's tongue hanging out of it's mouth and it's chocolate brown eyes darting from side to side. It's coat was just like every other German Shepherd, except it had a white streak that ran down the inside of it's chest.
Vivian stared at the dog for a moment then looked at it's neck searching for some sign of a collar, but there didn't seem to be any kind of identification on the dog. Vivian slowly got up and the dog took a few steps back, wagging it's tail and gave a small bark. Vivian stared down at the dog for a few minutes more then slowly walked out of the room, the dog following behind her. She stopped and glanced back at the dog and it stopped where it was. She took a few steps forward and so did the dog.
They continued this "game" for a bit then Vivian turned around facing the dog and the dog only stood there with its tail wagging. She softly laughed to herself and thought of what an odd coincidence was. She also wondered why the dog was following her since most animals usually kept their distance.
Vivian slowly reached her hand out and the dog just pressed its nose to her palm. Vivian smiled and carefully lowered herself to her knees and slowly stoked the dog's face. The dog sat there as still as possible allowing Vivian to pet it then ran it's tongue over her hand.
