Portia was surprised in the least to see a modpodge of plated armor chinking its way towards her. Sipping totally-"not"-spiked punch, she watched the girl as she approached. This was a new one. Not the girl, but the situation. Usually she was the last person someone would strike up a conversation with after just walking into the room, but it was like this knight sought her out. That was an enigma to deal with later. It seemed as though she wouldn't be the only one attending the party in a mask, though, and she smiled to see that this girl was wearing one as well. You would think, with a party full of heroes, that masks would be seen everywhere. Other from the one that was green, she would have thought that everyone would be wearing a mask. Not that she wouldn't have worn hers anyways.
"Greetings." Portia responded in kind to the girl who seemed like she was putting on a show. Maybe it was the gaudy costume (though she couldn't say much about that) or the way she spoke, like she had an air of 'I'm smarter than you' to her. She would have quite the run for her money if there were a battle of the brains here in this room, and Portia wasn't thinking of anyone outside of their conversation. "If you can provide something worth entertaining enough to talk about." She extended her hand with a smirk. "I'm Batgirl, resident newbie of the Titans. Would I be safe to assume that I'm not the only one in attendance that knows absolutely no one here?" Both girls would probably be shocked to realize that their mothers had met before. Even worked together. Was that an omen?

Sai rolled his eyes, honestly thinking that Alexa- Chae was lucky he remembered her first name. How long had they been teammates? He didn't think it was as long as he had known Annette, but faces tended to melt together after so many new ones. He had to bite back a very rude response to his teammate - something along the lines of her not being memorable. He instead smirked, glancing from Athena to Chae. "Don't worry about me, Jail-bait."
The next thing he knew, his plastic handcuffs were gone and when he found them again, he realized his hands were cuffed behind his back. He was going to joke about it being kinky when he noticed who had done it and the joke quickly died in his throat.
"For the love of God, Naomi," he began to snap before pausing and looking at each sister. He liked to think he'd known them long enough to tell the difference between them at rare times when it wasn't so obvious it was blinding. "Annette?" He looked at his team leader, blue wig and all. Only those two would come up with a costume idea that would give him a headache, he was sure of it. The handcuffs were an easy break, but he'd paid money for them, even if they'd been relatively cheap. He had only so much money - he'd taken as much as he could out of his mum's accounts before leaving England - and he didn't want to waste any of it. The cuffs didn't need a key which was good because they hadn't come with one. "Take these off me." His tone was slightly irritated, though he'd taken a breath and slowly let it out to keep his calm.
To say he didn't like being embarrassed would have been an understatement. He was trying hard to keep the heat on his face hidden, looking anywhere but at who he was certain was the real Naomi - God, she'd probably never let him live it down. It wasn't every day that someone got the drop on him, though he knew it wasn't impossible. The last thing he thought he needed was to be embarrassed by his own leader in front of... Wait, who were some of these people? He recognized Serenity - he'd heard about her, though he could have sworn he'd been told she was blonde - wig, he assumed. He overheard one girl call herself Batgirl and resisted the urge to groan. Another Bat? He vaguely wondered if Robin was aware and mentally smirked at the thought of the Boy Wonder having no clue.
He had utterly no clue who Han Solo or Joan of Arc were. But he guessed if they had access to the Tower, they weren't anyone to worry about.

"I don't know, should I take them off Quickie? You've been ignoring my sis a lot lately! I think you deserve a little bit of hard time," Annette, in her wonderful imitation of Naomi responded attaching an additional claps that she actually did in fact have the key for. "I disapprove of the quality of these, I'm putting my own touch on them," she explained, patting the archer on the back smugly. Annette admittedly did have a WEE bit of angst to work out on Sai. She'd never admit it, but his wishy washy-attitude over Titans East bugged her. There were nights where she sat up late, writing up a transfer request for him to Titans West, but would crumple it up before ever sending it to Athena. She really hoped no one ever searched her paper shredder. So many things lied in wait in those shreds.
Annette was about to walk away from Sai to just let him deal with his own restraints when she was assaulted with a rather unexpected voice... Her own. "Naomi! Take those restraints off Mr. Harper now. Those are for apprehension use only. Putting them on non-criminals is irresponsible, no matter how 'fun' it may seem," came the very own simulation of Annette's own voice out of Naomi. Annette was near shocked. Naomi reprimanding her? They really were switched in place. Annette didn't know whether to feel hurt or just laugh and wonder if Naomi was playing her part. She decided ultimately to just do what Naomi would do. "Ugh fine bossy. I'll take the dang things off buttface," she grumbled, unlatching the metahuman retention guards along with the toy handcuffs and handed them to Sai to keep. "Happy party poopers one and two?"
Naomi's confrontation had come with a little bit of debate. One of the Western heroes, one Naomi knew as Serenity has approached her and made some quip about Annette having fun. She mused on the statement awhile before responding "Perhaps a little too much fun," as she saw her sister break out the handcuffs that were reserved for big villains like Killer Croc and Bizarro. When she saw them go onto Sai, she almost lost herself for a second. She just found herself approaching her sister, prepared to lay down the law without even thinking about and with that, she did it.
Naomi had felt more than bizarre taking a recursive tone with the sister who usually was scolding her. She meant what she said though. Those restraints would've hurt Sai if he tried breaking them. They're electroshocked, Naomi knew that well from eating their power multiple times. She understood Annette was simply trying to have fun not having to be the responsible leader for once, but that didn't give her a pass to be outright dangerous. Naomi couldn't even believe SHE was the one having this internal monologue. Since when did she care about safety? Or whether Sai was comfortable? Wearing Annette's skin gets to you.
In her faux-wheelchair, Naomi rolled over to Sai and Chae and gave a bit of a bow in respect. "I'm sorry for that. She's... excited and I don't think she quite realizes what she's doing right now," she apologized, actually speaking for Annette, as per her erratic and unusual behavior. They were free to read it as an act though. It made no difference. Meanwhile, Annette sped off away from Sai and Naomi, wanting to cause a bit more mischief while she had the chance. She strode right up to the gal in a full set of authentic armor and gave a loud knock on the platemail, causing a loud metallic rattling and throwing the gal inside for a start. "What's up ladies? Can I interest either of you in a Halloween night ride out on the stars?" she proposed to Portia and Abby, accompanied by a wink and finger point. Naomi couldn't help but glare. "I DO NOT HIT ON PEOPLE LIKE THAT!" her mind seathed, her exterior though remaining cool. Annette and her were going to have some words after this.

The scene before her was rather entertaining to watch for a third time but the Han Solo who had walked through the door caught her attention. To most it would seem that she was just chuckling at the scene in front of her but the dove knew better. The moment Constantine walked through the door she had burst out laughing. Serenity had run her hand down the dove's feathers to calm her before an arm was slung around her shoulder. She plucked the cigarette out of his mouth dropping it on the ground and stepping on it. "Just so you know this is a non-smoking room." She was just going to ignore the cold comment, he could tell perfectly well that she was fine especially with so many warm bodies filling up the room. The dove chuckled from where she was sitting on the table the antics between these two were far different then most because they both understood that their powers intertwined. Serenity couldn't exactly conceal that she was a medium like she usually did, although his second comment about her sleeping habits was not going to turn out well. Sorina herself was glared into submission whenever it was brought up. Han Solo here didn't stand much of a chance. Serenity was grateful for the makeup she had splattered her face with it mostly hid the bags under her eyes so people wouldn't outright notice that she still wasn't sleeping all that well. To the untrained eye it would look like she was perfectly fine but, Constantine would spot the small mistakes she had made. "I believe small talk is in order before you ask personal questions. Although I am sleeping better if you must know." A little white lie never hurt anyone. She was here to make sure no one died tonight. Superpowers and drinking on a good night were a bad combination but with so many brought together in one room she doubted the prank with Sai would be the only one of the night. athena logan Shift -- Titan leader && Shape-Shifter Alexandra - or Chae, as she stressed - took her hand in more of a holding pattern than a shake. Oh, well; it was hardly the strangest way she’d ever been greeted. Running into a werewolf who almost ate her before they figured things out came to mind. As long as she wasn’t being attacked… Besides, it was Halloween; stranger things walked the living room and Tower than an unusually friendly superheroine-dressed-as-another-superheroine. And her costume was custom-made? It made Athena feel almost shabby in comparison, not a terribly unusual feeling for the shape shifter, but one she ignored with great ease. Black-on-black-on-green never looked bad, and it cleaned easily - alcohol and blood, whatever ended up on her shirt when the night was over. Still, Athena raised her eyebrows in an ‘I’m impressed’ expression as Chae outlined her very-narrowly-missed deadline. “It looks good.” She complimented; the first thing that popped into her head, but in retrospect perhaps not the first thing she should have said with her head quite so close to...so much of Chae.
Gently untangling their hands, Shift leaned back and got off the couch, moving around it to stand next to Sai, between him and Chae as the archer dealt with plastic handcuffs - and then some more vicious handcuffs, as Naomi/Annette upped the ante in their little game, and Annette/Naomi rolled over to scold her sister...preventing the need for Athena herself to do anything about it. A small bonus to having another Titan leader around - /she didn’t have to keep track of both teams plus whoever else showed up. As it was, the Titan West leader could barely keep track of who was dressed up as who in her own team, much less the non-affiliated heroes that had decided to show up, all of them dressed to the nines in various costumes. It made her own power-based pun costume a bit unoriginal by contrast, but Athena consoled herself with the thought that it was also more practical - especially considering what Serenity had chosen...and the other person in some kind of strange armor.
Smiling as Naomi/Annette handcuffed the easily-irritated archer, Shift was a little startled as Chae complimented her fur; she’d had it so long that the feeling of it faded into the back of her mind more often than not - and she was rarely complimented on her fur. Usually villains taunted her about it, and her team made good-natured jokes; Shift found herself startled - though Chae was looking away as the expression passed over her face, saving her from any awkward questions from the new, short-of-stature Titan. An easy smile was on Athena’s face as she watched Chae and Sai verbally spar, amused at both of them. As the Stone sisters always did,, Naomi and Annette brought their own unique spin to the conversation - until one sister moved off, depositing the handcuffs in Quickshot’s hands on her way away from their small group.
“Nice costume.” She complimented the remaining ‘body-switched’ sister, with a wink. It wasn't flirting - she wouldn’t flirt with someone unless she was a good deal more drunk than she’d been able to get herself so far. “How long did that take to make? Alex - uh, Chae, sorry - was saying she only just got hers done. I just threw mine together -- I’m a werewolf!” Shift explained, gesturing to her own ‘costume’ when she mentioned it. "Good a time as any...?" A hesitant voice spoke.
This may be just the day to do it. The memory of All Hallow's Eve preserved in a lighthearted sense of costumes and candy. Pranks that were supposed to be harmless, though sometimes escalated. And of course, the Teen Titans wouldn't let it go past without paying homage in the peaceful day. Of course, it was doubtful the bat man would like people to dress up as him, but that didn't stop the Titans from dressing up as each other, or fictional characters.
THe part was already underway and one more person had slipped inside without notice, at least immediate notice, at the snack table. A tray of small hors d'oeuvres piling up and hummed. The costume of this one wasn't immediately obvious, though she was young, and small, standing about 5 feet tall. A body suit of a shiny fabric, though not quite rubber, or leather. A mask sat over her eyes, very remniscient of Robin, or Nightwing as he is now. A utility belt loaded with tiny contraptions, that could give the Batfamily's usual accesssories a run for its money, and a cape completed the look, with a tri-piece staff and a gun strapped to either thight.
"Not bad... Pretty good, actually," she commented to herself, brushing a lock of her hair out of the way, and popping an offcolour cheese cube into her mouth that had been liberated from the fridge of doom. It wasn't fuzzy this time, but it may have been a step away from becoming intelligent. The punch needed some extra punch though, she thought, taking a drink from the cup. Another ice cube, or two or more sleighted in there, should make things a bit more interesting in a bit since it was the only source of drink, she had made sure no one was watching her whilse she did, though she did smile up at one of the security cameras.
And now for a bit of... extra entertainment? All in good fun this time around, of course, this crew has not proved her suspicions of them being quite yet, and with a cast of an eye, rose a few internal tensions. She approached the disguised Naomi, standing a tad close, making sure she was within at least peripheral. "Quite a handful, isn't she?" she commented, not quite aware this might have been an insult, since it was the girl that was being parodied in front of them. Her suit was black, with purple 'T's' over the chest that stood for the obvious Teen Titans. Purple hair on her head matched the tone, though black roots were more than an inch long at this point.
A keen eye would know who this girl was, or at least was dressed up as. Tinker the late Teen Titan, perished in the line of duty nearly 9 year ago now. Quite a macabre, or maybe just straight up terrible sense of humour to dress up as someone who died in the line of duty, particularly a Teen Titan, even if there an amount of time that passed since then. "Cheese cube?" she offered, a gloved hand holding it out for Naomi to be able to take. Tinker was trained by Nightwing, which would give the reason why the gadget/utility belt was very batfamily-like, as well as her outfit.

Chae didn't seem to mind Athena's closeness, but she did puff up at the comment from Sai - were she a cat, her fur would be firmly bristling in anger. But that response was sucked down as she watched Naomi lock him in handcuffs, and then toy with him a bit, before Annette called out and scolded her. Completely normal and exactly how any interaction with them went, clearly - there was nothing at all odd with the pair or how they were acting. She was even happier when Athena voiced her compliment on the outfit, a smug reply, "It's easy when you look good in anything." As they disentangled and Athena stood, she was free to flip her hair with that comment. She didn't mind that Athena didn't go through as much work for it, though obviously if Chae had designed it, she would have looked much better. None of Athena's reaction to the compliments on the fur seemed to register, as she was completely distracted looking over the others - she was told the party's theme would be heroes, but not a one of the others was really dressed like any sort of hero she knew. The newcomer who had drawn some eyes from the crowd didn't register, clearly Rainbow had never heard of this 'Tinker' person. She did seem to linger on Serenity for a few moments, in her slave-leia costume, before shaking her head, "And I thought I was over the top for a moment."She didn't seem intent to move from her seat even as her conversation partner was no longer sitting with her, gloves suddenly extending up her arms in a prismatic pattern of rainbows as she turned on her costume, a green tendril reaching across the entirety of the room, flagrant abuse of her powers as the end of it split into two, which formed into hands at the ends of little arms. One grabbed at a little cup, and the other began filling it with the punch that totally-was-spiked, before retracting the tendril of bright green light back to her own hand, taking a sip before speaking "Would any of you like one?" She asked with a giggle to the small crowd that had formed infront of the couch she sat, the long rainbow gloves remaining all the way up to her shoulders as she did it, shining in ways that would make a disco ball jealous of her. She wasn't gonna let Naomi/Annette flirting with other people bother her - clearly Naomi was simply saving the best for last, and so she'd get her turn eventually. She didn't know the robot even flirted though - let alone so... cheesily - clearly her friend needed some help, and she'd be sure to provide it later. Words: 426 Notes: No, Chae doesn't notice that Annette is Naomi even with everyone talking about it. Yes, she also just did Green Lantern stuff infront of a crowd of which only like three of them know her powers... to fetch punch. Constantine couldn't pay attention to everything going on at the party, so he paid attention to the only thing that mattered: Serenity's body language. Constantine didn't like getting lied to; then again, was she lying or concealing the truth? Ethics isn't fun to contemplate. A slight drooping of Serenity's shoulders and a small twinge in her lip told Stephen Constantine all he needed to know. He would talk to her about that later. It was time for small talk, so he poured another glass of punch, and he handed it to Serenity. With a smirk, he pulled another cigarette from his belt and held it out to her, “I'll make it easier on you.”“ So, small talk, huh?” Constantine shifted his feet awkwardly, then smiled wide. It took him a few seconds to think about it. Finally, something came to mind. He held his hands out to Serenity, then slowly formed words, “Is this what a regular party is like, or is this just how heroes enjoy themselves?”As he spoke, he took sips of the punch, then pointed to each person one at a time. “Athena, the green one; A- I mean Hemlock, the detective; Batgirl, Bat-girl; Annette and Naomi, sisters; and...” He stopped on the Tinker, “isn't she dead?”The detective hadn't expected a mystery at the party, but he liked the challenge. Quickly, he surveyed the character, and he formed a conclusion. They were a friend who shouldn't be there. Enemies? Oh, why are the titans so complicated with their relationships? He shook his head and turned back to Serenity, “So who is that, dear?”

Serenity sighed as she finished her last glass of punch for the evening. It had been halfway decent but as usual it was now spiked and she would have to steer clear. She sidestepped the green tentacles that came her way snatching the cigarette as she moved. She would grab the rest of the pack after he had some more punch. "No this is tame wait until they start drinking. That's when the powers and drama start to take the stage." One thing she was sure of was there would be a very large cleanup once this party was over. Sorina grumbled about being impaled with no warning. She understood pushing Serenity about not sleeping would have some downsides she was just frustrated that it turned out to be such irritating consequences. "Really?" All she got in response form the seer was a half shrug. “isn't she dead?”As she glanced back at Tinker who was walking over by Naomi still in her wheelchair. "That depends on your definition of dead." In most cases the medium's definition of dead was when the spirit separated from the body. In this case Tinker never truly died but that is what most people thought at the time. Blacklist on the other hand did die and somehow miraculously came back to life. There was even a body still in her coffin so the term was debatable. No one could say superhero's led boring lives. The question of who was under the mask was another story altogether. While it was obvious to Serenity at least it was Rena under that mask, but at the same time she knew it wasn't. She kept an eye on her friends futures and Blacklist was not in the building tonight. Yet it clearly was a version of her friend under the mask. "Serenity your forehead." The blonde had been in her head for a moment turning a thoughtful look back at Constantine. The blonde blinked back into the present and ran a hand across her dully glowing forehead. "Well sweetheart, the short answer is she's a friend of mine." It was the truth to some extent. She and Tinker over there would get along given the chance but it wasn't the villain she had coffee with from time to time. She had seen her coming ahead of time but when she had spotted Rena at the party tonight she had presumed that they were diverging futures. Batgirl? Interesting. Abby vaguely wondered what her mom would think if she was aware her mantle had been claimed from her. From conversations with her Stephanie was pretty convinced that despite not having worn the costume in nearly 30 years, she was still Batgirl... And god forbid, THE SLEUTH. It figures the one decent superhero name she ever had, was made by someone else. If not for Damian, she'd probably claim to still be Robin too. It was a little interesting to meet someone of the Bat Family. If she wanted to, Abby could claim the Bats as her family, but she wasn't going to stoop to that level. She was no bat. She was her own entity and didn't need some rubbish family to establish herself, just like she didn't need a team.
That led her mind to drift onto that letter she had gotten. It was almost audacious, an anonymous letter requesting her to rejoin a new consignment of the Outsiders not run by her great uncle designed to follow more in the line of Justice League Dark. Why would they have even invited her? She doesn't even deal in the supernatural at all. She didn't believe in this horsewash. Perhaps that was why though. She saw the truth and they valued that. Maybe it was worth a look.
Her mind was so many levels off track. Probably a head rush from this blasted armor. It didn't seem heavy, but something about almost kind of messed with Abby's head. She swear she was seeing people's faces change and felt like everything was medieval around her. She shook her head, clearing her vision. "A pleasure Batgirl. I'm Beryl Hu-Excuse me, I'm suffering a bit of some manner of flu. I am referred to as Hemlock in the vicinity of Jump City. I am not in fact in association with any Titan organization. Freelance Investigator with connections is but my role. I am associated with the heroes though for my former allegiance to the Outsiders, and my tendency to mask my identity. I am quite established with the Commissioner, Mrs. Gordon though. Hence, I am not acquainted with the masses here." she explained, feeling herself bowing for some reason. Why was she bowing? She quickly corrected herself. Abby didn't like what was going on here.
In the midst of her attempt of resolving the issue, she felt her armor suddenly clang with a knocking which threw her for a start. She even let out a little scream she really hoped no one heard. Ugh, that was embarassing. She was going to deck whoever..."What's up ladies? Can I interest either of you in a Halloween night ride out on the stars?" came the voice of the AI from Steel City. The voice at least. Abby was observant enough (Along with anyone with the IQ of at least a chimpanzee) to realize it was clearly someone else dressed as her and doing a very convincing impression of her voice. Abby was not impressed with the attempt at flirtation, but turned just a bit red anyway at even the notion of being flirted with. DEPRAVED! Utterly depraved! That was definitely what she thought of it.
"I'm afraid ma'am I must politely de-" her consciousness stopped there and something else took over. "-clare a duel to your honor for this lass here!" came the end of her statement. What in blue blazes was going on? Her mouth was moving, her voice coming out, but her thoughts were not the one's commanding it. Her body began to move without her as well reaching for her rubber sword in it's hilt and to her utter shock, pulling out a most definitely real steel sword inscribed with... The... Bat Symbol? What kind of bizarre sort of hypnotism prank was this?
Of course, Abby has no way of seeing it, but her pupils had completely vanished and while to her, it sounded like her own voice, her voice was coming out completely different than usual. Like she was impersonating someone else. Funny enough, that suit of armor was historical! Having belonged to one Beryl Hutchinson, the third in the line of the Knights of the Dark Cowl, a line of crusaders in the middle ages. What she didn't know was Beryl's spirit was... well, still attached to the suit, and now that someone had the audacity to wear it, Ms. Hutchinson had saw to doing a little bit of possession, a rather easy task considering Abby's magical body was a perfect vessel and she was doing utterly nothing to stop her. Abby was just lucky Ms. Hutchinson was a good guy.
