[Athena 'Shift' Logan]

Reaching the door shortly after Vivian, Athena stopped short of bowling over her newfound freind and - although common sense told her it was stupid; she didn't know this girl! - new crush. "You win.", panted the Titan, smiling up at Vivian and she tried to catch her breath, the green teenagers' facial pericings glinting in the sun, and the light from the esuaunt. Some civilians and tourists watched the two of the warily, going in and exiting out of the other available doors, as the two shape hifters' recovered from their race.

Vivian was gasping for breath and looked over at Athena, returning her smile. She chocked out a laugh and said between breaths "Well.... you didn't...do so bad yourself." After a few more moments of panting Vivian opened the door and held it open for Athena, playfully bowing saying "Ladies first." She looked back up at Athena with a wide smile on her face and, as she looked at Athena, she became aware of a feeling that seemed to fill her every time she looked at Athena. This feeling confused her and she couldn't quiet name it, but she decided not to worry about it and tried to ignore it.

(God I just can't seem to think of anything good today. Hope it isn't too cheesy XP)

A chuckle escaped the shape shifters' peirced lips, her heart beating like a trip-hammer, as she entered the resturaunt. A few people looked over when she and Vivian entered; and almost everyone who looked, stared. The Teen Titan ignored it, like she usually did. The waitress who came to seat them looked from Athena to Vivian, her eyes nearly as big as saucers. She looked to be about thirty, and clearly a long-time resident of Jump City, or at least the outer edges of it.

"A booth, please, ma'am.", Athena equested, looking over her shoulder as the waitress nodded, to make sure that Vivian was close behind her.

Vivian smiled and followed Athena through the door, her eyes scanning the diner. It seemed like it got quieter when she and Athena walked in, but it was what Vivian had expected. The waitress showed them to their booth and she sat down on the left side of the table. The waitress placed down two menus on the table and walked away without saying anything. Vivian grabbed one of the menus and quickly looked through it, though they didn't have many things to offer.

It was all hamburgers, hot dogs, fries, and some other grease covered food. "Do they have anything here that isn't swimming in grease?" she though out loud and shook her head. "I don't get how humans can eat that stuff." She flipped to the back and looked at their list of shakes and smoothies, which almost took up the entire page. She looked down the list and decided to get a chocolate shake. "So what are you getting?" She asked tossing the menu back onto the table and leaning back against her seat.

The shape shifter scanned her menu, flipping past the hamburgers - ug! - and straight to the shakes and malts on the last page. "Um...I'll have a strawberry shake, please.", the Titan ordered, floding her menu and handing it to the waitress - who had wandered back as silently as she had a left, apperantly getting a pad to write their order on - with a small, polite smile.

In contrast to Vivian, Athena leaned forward, elbows on the table and amrs folded over one another in a rather less-than-proper manner. But they were at a fast food place by a supposedly haunted forest, not a fancy diner or anything, so she supposed it wouldn't matter.

Vivian smiled at Athena and said "So you can turn into any animal, right? How about something that's extinct or mythical creatures?" She was interested in Athena's power to shape-shift into any animal, she wished she could so she wouldn't have to be a wolf ever time, not that being a wolf was terrible. She leaned back in her seat and noticed an old newspaper laying on the table behind her.

She reached back, grabbed it and began flipping through the pages looking for something. Finally, she found what she was looking for, the comic section, and pulled it out, tossing the rest of it back onto the table. "The only thing I'll every read in the newspaper." she said as she set the comics down on the table and began reading them.

A small chuckle escaped the shape shifter as she leaned back, grabbing the discarded part of the newspaper with her hand as she settled in and waited for her shake to arrive. The Titan shook her head to Vivians' questions; it was something that her dad could do, but she couldn't. At least not yet; maybe it would develope later or something. "Not yet. I can only transform into living animals, and ones that I've seen and petted."

The Titan paused, and decided to elaborate. Vivian was probably wondering where the hell she had petted a moose in the past seventeen years of her life. "My dad's a veterinarian for zoo's and stuff, and I got to come along, so that...uh, helped alot." Athena paused, playing with an edge of the folded paper. "What about you?"

Vivian looked up at Athena with interest and said "Well still that's pretty cool that you can do all that. I can only shift into a wolf and do a few other vampire things and that's about it. Nothing big." The waitress had returned with their shakes, placing them on the table and once more walking away without saying a single word.

Vivian watched her for a minute then commented with a chuckle "She isn't much of a people person is she?" She smiled, grabbing her shake and took a quick sip. "Wow that is good." she said with a somewhat shocked expression, she hadn't tasted many human foods before, but this was really good.

Athena nodded, smiing slightly as Vivian joked. it wasn't as annoying as when TX or green did their jokes - pranks, or puns, usually - but it was nice. A little funny, but that was all she really wanted. Vivian was turning out to be a good distraction, from searching for those damned bombs that rena had supposedly planted. Except, you know, nobody could find them. not the police, not any of the Titans on her team - or the east team - nor anyone else who they could rope in to look for the stupid things.

She was starting to think it was just some hoax to get them all frustrated and annoyed at her and at each other. it seemed like something the teleporter would do, too. shaking her head to clear her thoughts, Shift took a drink of her own shake, 'mmm'ing quietly in appreciation. They reall did have good food here, even if she wouldn't eat most of it, since alot of it was meat-based. And, well, meat was a no-no for her. "Yeah, they've got some good cooks here.", she concessed.
