[Athena 'Shift' Logan]

"Well, there's a great shake place a few miles away - with hamburgers.", Shift said, making sure to keep her front to Vivian. She knew it was never a good idea to turn your back on an enemy, which she figured went double for someone who had been her then-natural predator only about a minute ago. And if her shifting had any of the same side affects as Athenas' own, weakness could be deadly.

"But - why were you out here, anyway?", the shape shifter asked impulsively. Shift knew she, herself, had a reason, but Vivian had been the one running around as one of the best predators in the world, so she had a bit more explaining to do.

Vivian stared at Athena then burst out laughing and said "You didn't really think I'd still eat you, did ya?" She continued her laugh and slowly walked away from Athena and added "And I'm out here for two reasons. One I was hoping to get something eat, I haven't eaten anything for about two days. Second I just wanted to get out and just relax." She turned back to Athena with her hands in her pockets and spotted another squirrel.

She slowly walked closer to the squirrel then, with a snarl, she sprung into the air and Shifted in mid air. She would've landed right on the squirrel, but it had dashed to the side. Vivian followed the squirrel through the brush with a growl and chased it around. After a few moments they both ran back into the clearing and she was finally able to grab the squirrel. Her jaws clamped down onto the squirrels back and snapped it's spine in two. It fell limp in her jaws and Vivian decided to eat the squirrel the quickest way and shifted back. She picked up the squirrel in her hands then bit her fangs into the squirrel and dried the squirrel of its blood.

"O - oh.", Shift said quietly, a blush creeping onto her face as Vivian laughed and explained herself. The blush turned said green heroine's face purple instead of red or pink or whatnot. The look on her face, however, changed from embarresed to surprised - as Vivian raced around, after the squirrel who had distracted the two of them - then to shocked and disgusted - as she proceeded to kill said small forest animal and apperantly suck its' blood out.

"What the hell are you doing?", Athena cried out, storming over and yanking at on of Vivian's hands, clearly disgusted and angry. She knew alot of people ate meat, although she didn't, cosidering cannabalism, but blood? That was just as bad, especially so completely out of the blue.

Vivian glared at Athena and said "It's something called Eating. I haven't eaten in two days, ok?" But as she saw the disgusted look on her Athena's face she realized what she had really done. She looked back at the squirrel that laid limp in her hands, wiping the blood off her lips, and said "I'm sorry. i didn't know you were that connected to animals." Vivian stood up and walked to the edge of the clearing and began to dig a small hole under a bush.

"I'm guessing you can shift into any animal, right?" She asked as she finished up the hole and gently placed the squirrel in it and buried it. She looked back at Athena and said "I really am sorry. I wasn't think, but you know being half vampire half werewolf it's really the only thing I can eat." She hoped the explanation of what she was would make it easier for Athena to accept her apology.

Vivian was a bit ashamed for not thinking of how her feeding would effect Athena, even though they had just met. Vivian sighed after a few moments, trying to think of something then said with a smirk "You know.........you look really cute when you blush like that." Vivian hoped her "joke" would help lighten the mood just a bit, but really she did think it was cute when Athena blushed. It made her look nice with that light shade of purple.

"Yeah - any animal that I've seen, at least.", Shift said, nodding, calming down a bit as Vivian went and buried the recently-killed squirrel. Whether it was because she planned to come back later and finish it off or because she didn't want animals getting at the tiny corpse wasn't something the heroine wanted to contemplate. "It's...I understand.", she said, feeling on-edge and off balance still. Just because some people ate meat and others drank blood...

It didn't help when Vivian tried to joke, which came through the shape shifters' head as something more like flirting. Neither of which, to Athena, where something appropriate for what had just happened. So she was even more thrown off - although that was what the wolf-shifter was good at, the Titan noticed wryly. "I - uh, thanks.", Athena mumbled, wondering what the hell was wrong with her. 'Can't I talk anymore? This chick just likes messing with my head!'

Vivian softly laughed to herself and looked back at Athena, who seemed a bit annoyed by Vivian. But, she didn't really worry about it. Vivian smiled and said "Oh come in is that all you can say? What's the matter cat got your tongue?" Vivian wasn't sure if this would just get Athena even more annoyed or not, but she wasn't sure what else to say.

She leaned back against the tree with her arms crossed over her chest, then unconsciously began to carefully look over Athena. Her eyes started at Athena's feet and they slowly made their way to her face, where she became memorized with Athena's green eyes. "Wow, she IS really cute." she thought then mentally slapped herself for the thought and dropped her gaze to the ground.

"Very funny." Athena rolled her eyes and felt her blush deepen a bit, although that might have been part annoyance, too - it seemed like every person she met was hell-bent on making her flustered lately. Her run-in with Xavier (and later visit to the hospital) meant her left shoulder and right hand were still wrapped in gauze; she and Rena had a history of cut-throat rivalry that made most people back away slowly; the shifter still got teased about her failed seduction of Rowan - and now this?

'Just another person to mess with my head.', the Titan thought, a smile flitting across her face for a second. Juxtaposed to Vivian's casual pose, Athena had her feet planted firmly on the ground, both hands hooked inside her pockets, with the wrap of gauze around her wounded right hand still being visible, as the gash was rather big.

Vivian smirked and looked back at Athena and that's when she actually noticed the gauze wrapped around her arm. "What happened there?" she asked and pushed off the tree, casually walking over the Athena. She stopped in front of Athena and added "And I don't think I heard what your name was. I'm Vivian." She stood there for a moment and her eyes once again went up and down Athena, even though Vivian tried to stop herself from doing so.

Athena tensed slightly as Vivian walked closer, but the other femme fatale didn't make a move - violent or otherwise. Her wandering eyes, however, implied that she might like to do something - 'Holy shit, no. Not doing that again. Over-reacting!', Shift told herself firmly, interrupting that particular line of thought before it could evolve into something else. Too late, though, since it had - and her eyes seemed to have a mind of their own, because Athena felt them mirroring Vivians', looking her up and down; and liking what she saw.

"It's nothing. I fell.", the Titan answered, shrugging with her good shoulder as she lied, answering quickly as much to answer and to derail her current train of thought. "And I'm -- Athena.", she added, smiling a bit wider at the shape shifting female in front of her, whilst berating herself for giving out her real name. 'It's only fair.', a small voice in the heroines' head replied coyly. 'Do you really think Vivian is some kind of codename?'

Vivian instantly snapped out of her "checking out" as Athena spoke. She looked back to Athena's arm and knew you didn't get your arm that badly damaged unless you fell out of window, but she didn't bother to get the truth. She looked back up at Athena and said "Well that's a cute name." She softly smiled at Athena until she heard the sound of snapping branches and quickly looked in that direction, but it had only been another squirrel. She chuckled then said "Hey.. you mentioned something about a great shake place, right? Want to come? I'm buying." She turned away and began walking to the edge of the clearing, though she wasn't exactly sure where she was going.
