[Athena 'Shift' Logan]

A moose in the Jump Ciy forest was not an unusual sight if you spent alot of time around said forest. A green moose, however - well, that's quite another story, and could be aptly named a 'moose of a different color' as a certian horse had once been named. Except that the moose didn't change colors; it was always green, even when it stopped snacking on some tall weeds and started trotting through the forest as only a moose could.

Ie, very loudy and very fast, when she picked up speed and momentum.

To those who knew the shape shifter, it would be obvious who - and what - the unusually colored moose was; Shift, leader of the Teen Titans. or Athena, to her freinds and teammates. it might not have been clear why she was a moose, or in the middle of the woods. (Although a moose on the top of a building would be, arguably, much odder.) She was there because, after snapping at a police officer, her team had decided that she should take a break from looking for bombs, and the police had hurriedly agreed.

So there she was, trotting through the foilage like some kind of oddly colored beast of myth.

Vivian slowly padded through the brush following the sweet sent of a moose. But, if anyone saw her they wouldn't recognize her. All they would see was a black wolf. Vivian slowly lifted her head up and sniffed the air, her ears twitch at every sound searching for her next meal. it seemed like she had lost the trail, but suddenly darted to the left and went racing towards the moose. Her eyes were shinning with excitement and hunger, for she hadn't eaten in days. her tongue dangled from her mouth and her white teeth glistened in the sunlight.

As she got closer to the moose she slowed her pace and treaded carefully. Vivian slowly poked her muzzle through the bush and deeply inhaled the moose's sent. Her ears up and forward listened to the moose's movements and pin-pointed its location. She slowly went into a crouch then sprang forward with a snarl. Unfortunately, she didn't leap as good as she intended to and landed right in front of the moose. When she actually saw the green moose she froze. She didn't know what to think, Who has actually seen a green moose?

Shift, snorting, reared as Vivian jumped out in front of her. With some surprise, the shape shifter noticed the wolf looked nearly as surprised as she felt - which was very. Usually, animals didn't attack her when she was in her human form - they liked her scent, or something like that, from what she had gathered from some old dogs one time. of course, that wouldn't stop a hungry wolf, and it was her own fault for running around in the shape of an animal of prey with winter setting in. of course she would be a target - once the leaves started dropping, everything was fair play, even someone who smelled nice.

Even as she landed on all four hooves again, Athena couldn't help but think that look in the wolves' eye looked less - what was the word? - less primal than she had seen in other wolves'. Or maybe it was her imagination, or the mooses' less-than-stellar eyesight. the Titan debated changing into her human form, but then decided against it - she had more muscle and stamina as a moose, which would help keep her alive with a wolf after her hide.

So she bellowed at the black furred wolf, stamping her hooves and tossing her head, the antlers that female moose had looking not quite as threatening as she would have liked.

Vivian was still dumbfounded by the green moose and wasn't sure what to do. When it began to show signs of fighting she got into a crouch and slowly circled the moose. Her lips were formed into a snarl but, she didn't make any sound that was threatening. There was something about this moose that wasn't normal, besides the fact that it was green. Ir wasn't acting exactly like the moose she had hunted down many times before. She looked over the moose and it didn't seem any different. But, while she was studying the moose she wasn't paying any attention to anything it was doing.

The wolf circled her - and why, Shift couldn't figure out. She didn't see any other wolves around, and none but the most desperate pack of wolves would have hunted that close to Jump City anyways; not that there couldn' have been a pack waiting anyways, just that desperate. But they would have attacked by now, the shape shifter reasoned, confused and unsure and frightened. Whatever happened, she did not want to get bitten - rabies were something that transferred through her shifting forms, and it was extrordinarily unpleasant.

Backing away - but keeping herself tense, just in case she had to flee - the Titan-in-disguise shifted back to a human, clothes and peircins and short hair and all. It only took the green female a small moment, as she shrunk in width and height, bones and organs and fur rearranging itself into that of a seventeen year old human. Shift eyed the wolf warily after doing so, hoping she hadn't scared it into attacking.

Vivian was just about to just leave the moose alone when it suddenly shrunk and shifted into a girl. Vivian stared at the girl with wide eyes and slowly took a step back. She had never seen anyone with shifting powers before, but it didn't really matter now. She slowly shifted back into her human self and just stared at the girl. Vivian looked at the girl and her eyes slowly scanned the girl. "Well what a wonderful first impression." thought Vivian as she slowly walked towards the girl.

As silent as Vivian, Athena hesitated then stepped forward, emboldened by the fact that this other girl - another shape shifter! - was moving forward as well. though she had been a prey animal seconds before, the green teenager tried to discard the natural skittishness and grab hold of the slow-moving calm that pervaded a moose. 'I am powerful. Large. No furry hooves would dare stare me down.', Shift thought to herself, unaware she was thinkng to herself as a moose would - referring to the wolf as a furry-hooved thing, for one odd example.

Shift was silent, peirced mouth closed as she tried to figure out something to say. What could she - she had never met another shape shifter, aside from her father, and Bane, who could shift into a wolf...But it seemed that Vivian could do that, too; perhaps she could do more, as well, though, some part of the Teen Titan hoped vainly.

Vivian looked at Athena with confused eyes and stopped about halfway. She wasn't sure what to do or what to say. What could you say to another shape shifter, though Vivian wasn't exactly one herself. She stood there in a bit of an awkward silence as the girl also slowly came forward. Everything around them was quiet, as if nature itself was trying to make the situation even more awkward. Thankfully the silence was broken by a small grey squirrel that scurried up a nearby tree. Vivian quickly glanced at the squirrel and her stomach growled at the sight of it. She clenched her jaw and mentally cursed her stomach. A growling stomach wasn't exactly something you wanted when you first meet someone.

The squirell distracted the shape shifting heroine, and she watched it twitch it's tail and scamper up a tree. it was probably gathering food for the winter, trying to hide from the birds and cats that freuented the forest for food. Speaking of...

Vivians' growling stomach made Shift recall exactly why they were in this position; ie, she had thought the other girl was going to try and eat her. Which sounded about three times as worse now that it was found they were both human - well, at least humaniod. "You really don't want to eat me.", the Titan said, quietly, a bit amused and still worried. "I'm all stringy."

Vivian chuckled and looked back at Athena with a smirk on her faceThere was no way she was going to go after Athena now, but why end the fun now? Vivian slowly began to circle Athena and said "Well maybe I do. Stringy isn't all that bad, its better than nothing." She slowly made her circle small and when she got within 5 feet of Athena she smiled revealing her sharp canine teeth. She wondered what the girl was going to do and carefully watched here for any signs of attack. Vivian always found amusement in screwing with people and this was no exception. .
