AGE: 14(?)
GENDER: Female(?)
TEAM: Teen Titans
SIDE: Hero
OCCUPATION: Living is occupation
NATIONALITY: Chinese
HISTORY:A long time ago, there lived a young noble girl, that was excited to her marriage to a prince. 14 years old may seem incredibly young, but it was a different time, in a different culture. It wasn't a peaceful time, but not war. There were tense relationships between the Three Kingdoms that threatened to escalate. This young girl's marriage was to a general of another kingdom to bind a treaty. During the trip, her talk was often of if he had any scars, hoping he was handsome, and wondering what sort of tea he liked.
Alas, both the peace, and her marriage were not to last, no matter how often she talked of it. This girl was destined to perish with the age. A successful assassination took place on her life. While the prince would have been the more honourable target, she was the easier of the two to get at, due to not being a warrior. It was successful, and the girl perished to an arrow, before ever meeting her fiance. The peace treaty was sabotaged, and both kingdoms took up arms, blaming each other for negligence, and the third kingdom for carrying out the assassination.
It brought the dnyasty to its knees, and a reformation was had. The girl's body was embalmed within little time. As a noble, she had the right, culturally and spiritually, to be buried on her own families grounds, so that her soul may join the ancesters.
Unfortunately, her body never made it back to her family's grounds. For it rose from its wrappings, any semblance of what she was gone. It did not wish to rush to find the prince. It was not gentle, or wideyed like the girl had been. The carriers were found later, largely untouched, though definitely not normal. They were husks, dried out, the monk declaring their souls were no more.
A Jiangshi is a terrifying creature that feast on not spirt, but chi, and energy of all varieties. Regarded as among the unholiest creatures to walk. While intelligence varies from instance to instance, their goals are to devour, and devour. Except one come to be called Jian. A recent comer to the experience called 'life' in this modern times, the Jiangshi, for once in its existance, was awake. At first, it was terrifying. Waking up in a world where nothing made sense, as she had no sense of anything before.
Lashing out in anger and fear at anything. Quenching the hunger that tore at her, the Jiangshi was well on its path to be killed, possibly for the better, by the varying heroes that plagued the planet. Fortunately, there were some that could see past this visage, seeing the scared creature beneath. The members of Jump's protectors warily took the undead girl under their wing upon the word of an oracle. Thus, the 'young' Jiangshi would work as a hero, though for now, sat on a short leash.
FAMILY: The body that the Jiangshi occupies was a noblewoman of chinese origin. It's possible descendants from its siblings are blood related, but it wouldn't matter.
PERSONALITY: Surprisingly lighthearted, and friendly, Jian takes interest in learning things, and though is dissuaded from walking in the light, makes the venture to try and be normal. Though she doesn't talk too much, she's fully capable of speech. Displays of 'intelligence' though, are up for personal discretion, as Jian is not a smart person. Partly due to lack of real experience in any manner, and a tendency to rely on instincts. Jian's almost more like a pet that can understand and convey speech, though learns fast.
DISLIKES: The bright, and the dry are words that jump to mind, though neither particularly harm, just dissuade. Hunger. Spelltags make her nervous, but one stays upon her head.
DREAMS: Do the dead dream? In this case, of one that's gained sentience, yes, in a way. Jian sleeps not, but has a goal for the future. Learn. Learn what it is to be a thing. Learn what the world is. Learn to control that hunger for constructive purposes. Maybe be looked at as something more than a monster.

BODY STRUCTURE: With a rather slim bodytype, once considered to belong to a budding young woman, rather than a child, the body's original owner died at the age of 14, and was put through preservation methods in order to be presentable for ritual burial. Over time, her skin has became bluegrey'ish tone. Her eyes have sunken quite a bit, and have become fogged yellow and are unblinking, often moving without a muscle twitch of the rest of her body. Her fingernails became pointed, and thicker, becoming a sort of claw. When her thin lips move enough, one can see needle sharp teeth within. Jian is often drooling, with a mouth agape.
Jian has marginal, but noticeable shifts in appearance over time, depending on the context within the situation. At most times, Jian is as above. A bit freaky looking, and at most times, has flesh structure, though the skin is dry. If she's had a decent meal recently, she could almost pass as a young but creepy girl, if one can look past their bluegrey skin. If she hasn't fed in awhile, Jian becomes near literal skin and bone, the claws in her hands becoming long. The mouth hangs further open in an intimidating snarl, showing off the elongated fangs. The features can also shift dramatically depending on Jian's current stress, often related to fighting, though remains either fleshed, or bone and skin, from the dopey unsettling 'normal' appearance, to a snarling, fanged and clawed appearance. In an extreme instance, if she has not fed in a long time, Jian's body will begin to rot, open sores and wounds, the precursor being that the wound that slain the body would begin to bleed black.
STYLE: The creature's outfit is likely either what she died in, or was changed into to wear for her funeral. It's an old set of clothes belonging to the nobility of China during an ancient dynasty. The floral patterns are still seeable and the purple colouration and period of clothing, shows that it was a rather expensive outfit once upon a time. It's stood up to the ages, showing the skill of the craftsman that made it, and fits her body, showing off its slim nature. The sleeves are traditionally quite long, allowing the hands to hide within.
At nearly all times, a spelltag sits on her forehead with indescript writing on it that many modern day chinese couldn't read, almost exclusively taught to archeologists, or monks seeking to learn ancient wisdom. It's a form of spell, the parchment long yellowed, but is a part of her, like her clothing, and can be reformed through her power.
PIERCINGS OR TATTOOS: The basis of earrings remain, though the decorations long fell off, leaving her lobes pierced with holes ringed by thin silver that further decoration could be slipped into. Jian has faded tatoos that mostly blend into her skin on the back along the shoulder blades. On the left, is her family's name, showing her once proud nobility. Extending from this to the right, is prepeartion to likely add her betrothed family's name to it during the ceremony that would have linked them.
COSTUME: Being an undead, many find her rather disturbing in appearance, as a natural instinct towards death in revulsion. As such, Jian hasn't a costume, nor exactly know what a 'costume' is.
ODDITIES: Besides the obvious, Jian has a very peculiar scent about her, that one could describe as the sensation of their nostril hairs burning. This gets more intense the longer she has had since her last meal. It is the scent of the embalming fluid that replace much of her blood in order to keep her body from rotting when it had died. This is particularly strong on her breath or on a wound. This naturally effects those differently, depending on their own sense of smell, and tolerance to it. It can even be nauseating. One could describe it as sickly sweet, as well.
Rigormortis is the first thing that begins to plague her when she hasn't fed. While this isn't a sign of danger, she often hops around with her legs together, and hands extended out in front for balance. This begins to fade when she feed.
ABILITIES: Drain: Jian is possibly a creature that could be considered the ultimate predator. While a zombie would feed on flesh, or a vampire upon the blood of a human, Jian eats at the chi, life force, and souls of others through malicious touch or presence. Being affected by this, one would feel cold, followed by numbness, a lack of wit, and heavy limbs. It's a terrifying experience, feeling your soul being dragged out of your body, and eaten by pieces. One can heal naturally like any wound, without affecting your lifespan, too much of this, will not lead to death, but non-existance, as Jian will have eaten the soul.
This is not limited to strictly animals, like humans or mice, but extends to plants, and even other undead and otherworldly beings.
Minor Telekenesis: This allows her to fly, and gives a pull towards her much like a yank with a gesture, with enough force to pull someone flying towards her, or to jerk a truck or car across the ground. It's a single pull, allowing recovery if the target doesnt' give into panic and has a long 'cooldown' so to speak. At first, she can seem to be slow, clumsy, albeit hard to knock down, but this can change in an instant, with quick dashes brought on by her flight, much like a sprint. Not too impressive in speed to many superhumans, it is a sharp contrast with previously jerking movements.
Shadow Swarm: How a true dash of hers comes out. Assuming an incorporeal form resembling shadows, almost like a bat swarm While it only lasts for a short time, she is incorporeal, and can pass through solid objects, such as a wall. This is also how she can recover lost limbs or parts of her body, that disappear into this 'swarm' and reform on her. This extends to the clothes she wears, though if an article of clothing, or jewellry is removed, such as changing clothes, it leaves her protection.
Dangerous Charm: THis is something that manifests in a way. It's against someone's self control and will. A western vampire can have a silver tongue, drawing those in with the sound of its voice. This jiangshi, does not, but locking eyes with her can be deadly, freezing the prey in place allowing her to approach.
While, as undead, she remains repulsive to many living things, many can't help but approach whilst in her presence, despite knowing there's danger. This is dependant on the individual, how much they are effected, depending how well they resist a forced suggestion.
CONTROL: Jian is surprisingly quite in control of her varying powers, choosing when, how, and how much to feed, even to specific beings. It becomes harder, the longer it has been since she fed, even moreso if someone touches, and next to impossible, recently fed or not , if for some reason someone sticks their hand in her mouth.
SIDE-AFFECTS: [/sup]
Most of her abilities become more potent, the more recent, and more in general she has fed, with the exception of the regenerative properties of her shadow swarm, which gets weaker the more often its used, eventually to stop working altogether until a long rest, or large feast is had. And the drain, has a high point, low point, and high point. The more she's fed the stronger it is, the longer it's been since she's fed, the stronger it is.
While Jian won't gain any sustenance from it, she drains other forms of energy as well, such as electricity, leading to lights flicker and short out in her presence.
Rooms she is in, or the air around her, are noticeably colder. Water can crystallize into ice, and ones breath can turn to fog. It's more prominent the more she's fed
Jian gives off a particularly strong EMF, and leaves behind a residual EMF, making her a goldmine for phony ghost hunters.
WEAKNESSES:Her eyesight is poor, and worsens the longer its been since she fed, and her sense of touch is there, but very diluted.
Much of the time, she suffers from rigormorits, and while it causes neither pain, nor necessarily discomfort, forcing her to hop around, or clumsily move around.
Much of her true weaknesses, are tied to her supernatural nature, that don't make much sense to most others, but can be exploited easily, for the most part. Following are a few examples, of these strange weaknesses.
For instance, it can't cross running water under its own power. Jian needs to be carried over it by others.
Rice and Salt spilled in front of her, she is compelled to count each grain, though she can resist this. In order to cross a line of it, must count each grain in order to do so.
Jian can't enter another's home under her own power, without spoken permission from another within.
Bells of most varieties, in particular silver or funeral bells, will ward Jian away, and cause physical pain. Particularly potent when rung in sets of three.
Holy Water of any religion blessed by a true believer will burn, and hurt Jian as if it were highly acidic, resulting in a loud sizzling. Likewise, a religious symbol held by a true believer will ward her from approaching, and burn her on contact, and while it will eventually regenerate, it will be slow, and painful to her.
Hallowed ground can paralyze Jian if she's on it for too long, and finds it hard but not impossible to cross over or enter, and cannot fly. This includes most graveyards, and some churches.

INTRODUCTION: It sits on the couch.
Clutching a pillow in the dark of night. Unable, unwilling, or flat out refusing to go to sleep in the safter of her room. She sat watching the television of the impressive living room built by technologically genius teenagers that protected the city.
It knows not I'm here.
The remote raised to align with the large tv, clicking up the volume. Don't look away. The Tv man spoke. Yellowed eyes watched the changing images on the picture, unable to comprehend the movement, seeing not a fluid motion, but individual still pictures, accompained by sound. But the girl watching, seemed to see what was going on.
Creak!
"Oh, Jian"
It speaks, and looks, stop moving. Maybe it won't see more.
"You scared me, figures you'd be awake too." The girl turned back to the Tv, hugging the pillow once again.
It looked away, move again, maybe sneak up to it. The images on the screen produced a sound like an engine trying to move while the emergency break was on.
"Jian? Did you want to join?"
It looks again, stop moving, watch them.
"You don't have to just stand there... whatever weirdo."
Away, it's gaze is definitely movement based. Jian hopped forward again once the girl's gaze left.
Don't even blink.. They will get you... the angels
Jian was close now reaching out slowly to touch its hair when it watched the pictures on the screen.
It happened quickly, as soon as Jian's finger had brushed against her hair. THe girl screamed, leaping up from the couch, turning around to look at Jian.
"STOP TRYING TO BE A WEEPING ANGEL!" Tears in her eyes, as she often got attached, and scared, to shows.
"sorry," Jian replied, lowering her arms, and relaxing the snarl on her face to match the image of a statue on the screen.
