TABOO
The She-Wolf, The Leading Lady, Boo
The She-Wolf, The Leading Lady, Boo
AGE: 17 in Earth years
GENDER: Female
TEAM: So far Taboo hasn't had an opportunity to seek out a group or anything, so, loner works.
SIDE: What would cheese off Lobo more? Hero, probably. So yeah, hero.
OCCUPATION: Former intergalactic rapscallion and convict, current student
NATIONALITY: One side of the family comes from Czarnia, the other's uhm, uncertain. Taboo's earliest memories were of an orphanage on Euphorix.
HISTORY: Once upon a time a baby girl was left on the steps of an orphanage on Euphorix along with a basket and wearing a muzzle. The note read simply "please take this". Since the orphanage staff was able, to their dismay, to figure out the girl was at least partially Czarnian, and by the powers of deduction gathered she'd have to be Lobo's daughter, they kept the muzzle on until they determined she wasn't planning on chewing through it. After that, they decided the best course of action would be to hide her parentage from her, but not before they named her "Taboo" as kind of a tongue-in-cheek thing.
Taboo had to get some blood work done to confirm her background when she was young, but of course the staff wasn't able to quite hide their dread at confirming her bloodline from her and she was able to figure it out. She spent most of her pre-teens terrorizing her fellow orphans and staff, and since no one was particularly keen on adopting the little terror, she hung at the orphanage for quite some time. Eventually, at about 14, she got bored and decided she was going to track down her old man. It took the equivalent of about eight months, but she found him on a job. Eager to impress, Taboo jumped in and despite an initial interfering, was able to cajole Lobo into accepting her aid and helped him take down his mark. Of course, at that point Lobo proclaimed having a daughter would 'cramp his style' and tried to kill her, so she stole his Spacehog and took off.
For a couple of years, with nothing else to really do, Taboo terrorized various rim worlds with petty larceny and bar fights, until she eventually cheesed off the wrong Green Lantern in some backwater sector and was arrested. While on her way to trial past the milky-way galaxy, the vessel had a "completely unexplained" performance malfunction and had to stop for repairs, at which point Taboo was able to slip her bonds, sneak to an escape pod, and eject.
She's just landed on Earth, which, if you ask her, is waaaay too bright and shiny.
FAMILY: Her dad's the notorious Last Czarnian, the Bounty Hunter Lobo. She figures her mom's one of the women he encountered at some point, though, she never got a straight answer as to who. There's a few on Earth though, so maybe she'll look them up at some point.
PERSONALITY: Despite a distinct urge to rub her continued existence in her father's eye, there's a fair bit of him in her. She's outspoken, tactless, rude, crude, and highly opinionated about everything including (and probably especially) things she really has no business talking about. Along with that though, she does have a highly developed sense of honor and fair play and sticks to that, even if it's not exactly what you'd expect from a 17 year old girl. Still, that desire to thumb her nose at Lobo does count for a lot, so she's not nearly so murderous and she has been known, once or twice, to even make some friends now and again. She can be pretty charming in a loutish sort of way, and anybody who is up for partying or can handle themselves in a good scrap tends to earn her respect, if not loyalty.
DISLIKES: Prison was pretty bad, and so was the whole attempted murder via dad thing. Taboo hates being confined and will look for the most direct way out of confinement if she finds her way there. At the same time, she wants to stay under Lobo's radar (especially since she lost his Spacehog when she got arrested, he's bound to be pretty mad about that), which given her proclivities and even incidental ability to cause mayhem, hasn't worked out too well for her thus far.
DREAMS: A free ride, probably. Or, you know, enough distractions to keep her amused. And protection, protection would be good.

I'M NOT TOO FOND OF THE WAY YOU'RE LOOKIN' AT ME
So either get fragged, throw down, or show me somethin' fun
So either get fragged, throw down, or show me somethin' fun
BODY STRUCTURE: Taboo has a pretty athletic build, though not nearly as comically muscular as Pops, she maintains her femininity. She is tall, about 5'8", toned and dexterous. She's a looker, for sure, though she doesn't have much of a skintone and her red eyes might put a few people off given her obviously inhuman nature. Even in those rare moments that she's not active, her body is tensed up, as if she could explode into action at any second.
STYLE: Taboo tends towards leather, ripped jeans, chains, spiked collars, bracelets, and the like. Generally she wears this in black, though, for the past few months she's been in a white prisoner's uniform, she's eager to get back to her own style. She doesn't do a lot with her personal upkeep, as far as hair and such goes, as such the black mane on top of her head tends to be worn loose and wild.
PIERCINGS OR TATTOOS: Her Czarnian heritage keeps her from being able to be tattooed or pierced reliably, since breaking her skin is a tall order and she pretty much heals up right after.
COSTUME: Taboo doesn't much see the point in an official costume. She wears her street clothes, such as they are, even when she gets up to super-mischief.
ODDITIES: Unlike her dad, Taboo doesn't have any particular interest in ridiculous makeup (she's heard of KISS and doesn't want to copy that). She has a serious allergy to Euphorian shellfish, though, she doubts that will come up, she tends to stay away from shellfish altogether as a precaution. She has an unrefined manner of speaking, given her background, and despite hating (or more properly fearing) Lobo, she tends to ape his mode of speaking to a certain extent. Also, she's recognizably alien, and doesn't do much of anything to disguise that fact. At her best, she's manic, at her worst she's destructive, though to her credit she tries not to be her worst most of the time.
ABILITIES: While not a full-blooded Czarnian (at least, she doesn't think as much), being Lobo's daughter she's picked up a good deal of his impressive natural talents.
Czarnian Physiology: While it's never been tested, in theory only another Czarnian could truly kill Taboo. Since she fled rather than let Lobo try, she has no way of knowing if that is technically accurate.
Superhuman Strength: Naturally, Taboo is many times stronger than your average human, and she likes to keep herself fighting trim, too. She can easily lift a car over her head and throw it at least a few hundred yards (maybe more). She was, at the very least, able to keep up with Lobo for a round or two before she had to escape.
Superhuman Stamina: Taboo can take a licking and keep on ticking. She doesn't remember the last time she's been exhausted or tired; it's quite possible she just doesn't get that way. This also includes a functional immunity to sickness or disease.
Invulnerability: While Lobo eventually hurt her enough to make her flee, Taboo is durable in the extreme and can blithely ignore a good deal of injury. Bullets, swords, and the like bounce right off her, though the majority of super strength and weird energy blast stuff tends to give her pause at least for a little bit.
Enhanced Speed: While not nearly as quick as her old man, Taboo's temporal flow, awareness, and reaction time are far greater than a normal human being's. She can move up to about 40-50 mph.
Self Sustenance: Taboo doesn't have any need to eat, drink, or sleep. She can survive in the vacuum of space just fine.
Regeneration: Assuming she's injured, Taboo heals extraordinarily quickly, able to recover from a broken bone or serious wound in a manner of seconds or minutes. It's doubtful she's as good as it as Lobo, but that's what you get from a watered down physiology. If something was severed, it'd probably stay that way.
Technological Genius: Having inherited some of her dad's psychology, too, Taboo just gets machines. She can also build just about anything given tools and time, and she hardly ever needs to look at any sort of manual.
Polyglot: Taboo has a intuitive understanding of language and speaks, reads, and writes just about any and everything with the fluency of a near-native speaker (with her own accent and mannerisims, of course).
CONTROL: About an 8, though since her abilities don't have particularly "active" effects and are always "on" it's mostly a matter of practice.
SIDE-AFFECTS: Taboo is visibly part-Czarnian, which means nearly chalk-white skin and glowing red eyes.
WEAKNESSES: She's terrified of Lobo, which is bothersome because she's not really used to being scared of much of anything. She's also not nearly as impossible to hurt or kill as her father, but she maintains an overblown cockiness that gets her into trouble. She isn't used to Earth's sun, and daylight makes her a bit uncomfortable/disoriented if she has too much exposure to it. She has rather extreme reactions to just about everything - being low-key isn't really something she gets, yet. And, she's not familiar with Earth customs, or culture, or any of that, while she's not naive in actuality, she's really kind of the ultimate kind of foreigner, albeit one who can speak the language.
LOOKIT, I DIDN'T STEAL ANYTHING

INTRODUCTION: The flashing red alert lights worked as a beat to keep her focused on the task at hand - namely, picking the lock on her cell door. She'd been lucky that she had swiped the EMP detonator before she got caught - though it really was blind luck that the timer had been set for the proper number of weeks - but the detonator had disabled the ship's primary systems - the only backups still active were the auxillary lights, the locks, and the constant shrill alarm.
Of course, that left the cell door to deal with, and without her tools she was having a heck of a time picking it. "Aw, frag it." She finally mutters and shoved her fist through the wall and rooted around, pulling out a handful of wires that thankfully caused the door to slide open. She whistled in relief and ducked out into the hallway. The two guards were barely able to vocalize their surprise before she had smashed their heads together, knocking them out. "Knock knock, heh." She amused herself. It was good to realize she hadn't lost her sense of humor after all - she could feel herself dying of boredom in the cell before everything exploded.
Well, not exploded, not yet. Maybe she'd get to that, maybe not. Probably not. These guys, while putzes, were just doing their job, after all. Now, judging by the curvature of the bulkhead, the escape pods would be to the north. Of course, so would the barracks and engineering, which was a bummer. For a second she considered just punching her way through the bulkhead, but that'd take too long, but maybe if she kept quiet she could sneak off to an escape pod without being noticed.
A few minutes later, the barracks door exploded inward, and the guards inside scrambled to retrieve their weapons. "Oh, whoops." She said with a smirk. "I was lookin' for the ladies room, you haven't seen it have you?" They shot. She dodged. She punched, they fell over. About ten of them. No sweat. Whoever had built this ship decided the most direct way to the pods was through the barracks, which made sense from a design standpoint but which was super annoying as far as Taboo's needs went. The last guard, the one she hadn't clubbed hard enough to knock out, squirmed in her grip. "Unhand me, convict!" He shouted.
"Yeah yeah, in a second. Say, what's the code for this door?" She asked, poking at a keypad next to the sealed doorway labelled "escape pods". He squirmed again. "If you think I'll tell you..."
"Blah blah blah, misplaced righteousness, got it." She smacked his face into the pad. Surprisingly, the door chimed and opened at that. "Huh, guess it wasn't locked." She shrugged, tossing the unconscious man aside and stepping through. Jackpot, any of these would do just fine.
It had only taken a couple minutes or so to figure out the locks on the pods, thankfully. Seems like the ship was still dead in the water, too, seeing as the lights were still dimmed and the alarm was still blaring. Taboo nodded happily - that meant their sensors weren't going to pick up her ejecting, which was good since she wasn't real keen on the idea of being chased by a prison ship when she wasn't even sure what sector of space she was in.
"Bon voyage! Suckers!" She called out cheerfully as the pod shot off into space. Hopefully the wimpy little jets on the thing would be good enough to get her away from the ship; unfortunately, that meant she was leaving all her gear behind. She'd miss Lucy - her gun - most of all. But she supposed she could always get something else, so long as the planet she landed on was inhabited, that is.
Of course, that was kind of a big if. "Ah well, guess it's jus' time to sit back and enjoy th' ride." She muttered and watched the stars fly by, hoping she'd at least land soonish.
