SERENITY SWANSON know it all Serenity chuckled softly at the disappointment coming from her companion. She had been hoping that he would pick option two, taking out half his brain was going to be so sweet if she could've done it. Why did he have to go and surrender peacefully. "I take it I can't just paralyze him anyways?" she sighed when she spotted Serenity's eye roll, sure he goes in peacefully now. Was the spirit slightly vindictive, possibly, did she really care if anyone thought so, nope.
She raised an eyebrow at him, "They didn't want to ruin the memory of your childhood. Me I don't have any problems with the truth, and it's their own fault they died. The car they were driving was filled with explosives." She pulled out her communicator and sent out a quick message to the heroes on where to pick up Blackhat. If he wanted to surrender to them she was alright with that. The entire experience would prove to be entertaining no matter what happened.
One quick glance at the disappointed dove and the rather remorseful villain and she could tell he wasn't about to turn around and kill her for giving him such life altering information. "They will be meeting us at a diner, come on I'm hungry." It was true she had skipped a meal in order to be here in time for this conversation to go down. She checked the time on her necklace and flipped her hair over her shoulder. They had a short walk if they wanted to make it to the diner. If said diner happened to have a zeta tube in the ally behind it who was she to complain about that.

Thomas wanted to curl up in a ball at the word "explosives," and he wondered Did my mother know about this? He shook his head in anger and disgust at the story, but he'd gotten an answer with unforged documents; it was unlikely that Mockingbird, Serenity, or whoever she was would lie to him. As he walked alongside Serenity, he looked over his shoulder at his parents' graves, and the wind blew his black hat off across the graveyard. "Let's go eat," Thomas nodded, speaking softly and barely above a whisper. Behind him, he left a whole past and opened a hole in his soul. It was going to be a long road to recovery, and he would probably die in prison first. A lot of his crimes, most of them, were federal offenses; that meant he would be in federal prison with people who would want to use him for all sorts of nasty things before he met the wrong end of a shiv.
"So, how did you get involved in all of this?" Thomas smiled weakly as he pushed past Serenity and opened the diner door for her. "We all had the chance to have normal lives once, right?" As they made their way through, he slumped down in a booth farthest from the door and faced away from it. It wasn't his typical protocol since he liked to see danger before it was coming, but today wasn't a normal day...

SERENITY SWANSON know it all Serenity glanced over at Thomas, for someone who saw the future there was only one place to be. She had to be by the side of those who could make sure the future kept turning up in her sight. Even if she didn't have her visions of the future she still had one foot in the grave. She had grown up speaking with the dead and hearing stories of times long before her own. It made history a rather easy subject for her to pass in school. She had gotten out of the life before it killed her again, then the life had dragged her back rather painfully.
She listened to her footsteps on the ground for a moment before glancing up at the dove still primed to take Thomas down at any sign of trouble. "Some of you had a choice, that's true." Serenity ignored the look on the dove's face.
Sorina clicked her beak in irritation. She knew perfectly well that Serenity could live a normal life if she wanted, maybe one in hiding on some beach in a country no one can pronounce the name of but it would be possible for her. She was rather good at disappearing when she wanted to, but she knew Serenity wanted to stop running. She wanted to take the son of a bitch down once and for all.
The blonde pushed her way through the door of the diner, and waved at the waitress on duty tonight. She tended to befriend the workers of these twenty four hour establishments fairly quickly with her strange hours and her proclivity to hang around graveyards at night. "Hey Leah I'll have the usual," She led the group to one of the larger booths and sat across from the now hatless villain. This should be an interesting night.

athena logan Shift -- Titan leader & Shape-Shifter It wasn't every day that the Titans got a mass text telling them where to pick up a super villain who had done so much wrong to so many of their circle. It was like having him all-but giftwrapped. Of course, it was even more unlikely that the information had come from Serenity - she'd been less and less clear lately on things, hiding Mathew's plan from them but helping out in her own way, pulling the Nebula map out of practically thin air, and now this. Sometimes, Athena didn't know what to make of her blonde friend. Half of the time she wanted to hug her so hard she lost her breath; other times she wanted to throttle the seer. Now was one of the first kind of times, although the shape shifting Titan's form was clearly wary as she stepped through the front door of the restaurant.
She'd dropped into the alley on the side of the building, the form she'd taken an unknown irony to the Titan; the finch, a small bird turned green-feathered by her strange powers. Shifting to her human state, Athena had flicked on her hologram-projecting watch, tapped her pockets to double-check she still had her disposable cell phone and Titans' communicator, then made her way out of the alley. Stepping in, she glanced around out of habit, quickly spotting the neutral blonde and her dark-haired, worried-looking companion. It was better for everyone that Tom appeared at least a little worried or sad; his eyes looked puffy, she thought, a small frown deepening as she walked closer, side stepping the waitress Serenity had called out to neatly. Sliding into the booth next to Serenity, Shift thought she held her cool remarkably well. If Thomas had been uncaring, she probably would have punched him, social setting etiquette or no. Serenity's at it again... She thought, slightly amused.
"You know, we had a big plan to bring you down." She commented, faux-casually. Her tone, Athena thought, was spot on - but the intensity with which she regarded the tech-savvy villain was anything but casual. It brought to mind a predator's sharp eyes keeping track of every twitch and breath its' prey made. Athena leaned forward, elbows spread casually on the plastic table-top. "Couple of them, actually. It's almost a shame we didn't get to try them out." Shift was enjoying this, getting to play bad cop. Usually, with her team, she was the one keeping the peace - relatively speaking. Nightshade played strong, silent, and snarky to her snarling, impassioned blustering, so it was nice to know that Serenity had taken her spot for the moment. She could get a better taste of making the boy in front of her squirm for a little bit - not too long; she was a hero through and through, and even the most deserved revenge quickly left a bitter taste in a Teen Titans' mouth.
"But I'm glad you came to your senses." She retreated a little, sitting up straight again, back into her own personal space bubble. She was Shift, Titan leader, once more - even if she was still struggling against the urge to punch Blackhat in the face. Or maybe bite him - let him wonder if she could give him rabies... No, no. Diplomacy. That was the word of the hour. She'd have let Chae or Annette have the first hit, anyway; it was only fair. "Now we can talk about what-all you're going to do to repay my team." Thomas sat silently and contemplated every little thing that he'd done to get this far. He'd stolen millions of dollars, faked records, faked his smiles and crying, and practically cheated his programs in classes (By using his brain as a computer, of course). He was listening to the words coming out of the green one's, Athena he thought, mouth, and his mind wandered to the plans they had probably wanted to try on him. They could have electrocuted him, shorted out his brain, left him paralyzed or brain dead. He shuddered at that thought of being stuck in the hell of half-death and half-life. Thomas turned a little in his seat and held his hands out on the table, palm up. "I'm already fixing the warrants to be a warrant for my arrest," He spoke honestly as he set to work, the warrants changed, records and blackmail erased, and the warrant for the arrest of one Thomas Alkalines III popped up on everyone's computer screens, and even filled the television of the diner. "One thing corrected. Second thing: All the money I ever gathered in all my illicit activities will go to rebuild the tower, of course."
"But what else can I do besides serve my sentence in jail?" Thomas, not Blackhat (for he was in the graveyard), felt remorse at that table and wondered what he could do as servitude. "I don't think I would be good at tech support," He laughed at the joke, hoping they would do the same.

put on your shades It certainly wasn’t every day she got a message telling her that a villain was waiting to be picked up at some casual diner. As a matter of fact, she was pretty sure this was the first. Luckily, she was nearby, because there was no way she was missing this. The guy had blown up the Titans Tower, had endangered the lives of some of her friends. So, she was hoping to get a good punch in.
She walked in casually through the front door, which felt odd while wearing the costume. But subtlety at this point was slightly pointless. Her arrival was announced with a ding from the door and the tired-eyed hostess eyed her as if costume clad heroes walked in here every day. Maybe they did? She immediately caught sight of Athena, Serenity, and He-Who-Shall-Be-Punched. She caught his last statement as she reached them. “Maybe some community service.” She slid into the booth easily, shoulders straight and eyes narrowed in the classic batglare which she had naturally picked up on even as a child. It promised trouble should there be a disagreement.
She wasn’t sure what brought on his sudden need for repentance. She didn’t exactly picture someone who blew up a Tower full of people as the apologetic type. She supposed she’d have to get an explanation from Serenity later. For now, if he was truly asking for forgiveness, it was certainly a step forward. And helped them fast forward through the hard part. Though, she still wanted to punch him. “Like helping us take down villain when we ask you too.” She raised an eyebrow. “Or picking up trash off the side of the street.” She shrugged, making sure to give off an air that told him she cared little for his fate. “Whatever my fearless leader prefers.” She glanced to Athena. Really, it was Athena’s team and home that was attacked. As far as Blackwing was concerned, it was up to the shape shifter what the man’s fate would be.'cause I'll be dancing in the flames

SERENITY SWANSON know it all Serenity grinned at her green friend as she commented on the ease of Thomas's capture. It wasn't every day super villains came quietly, even fewer came quietly and were tied up by someone like herself with little to no hand to hand expertise. She tended to leave the fighting to the titans and was rather sad to leave them with a small workload this time. "You're not the only one, Sorina's rather sad she can't just short circuit him." She waved in the direction of Thomas's neck, those implants were something that was becoming slightly more common but she still found it amusing that people were hardwiring self destruct mechanisms into the back of their heads just for a faster internet connection.
Sorina landed on Thomas's shoulder eyeing the implants hopefully, "Is there any chance of him turning on us." The dove sighed at Serenity's eye roll. She was going to take that as a no. She jumped up in shock when he claimed to be changing the arrest warrants. Sorina had heard of people being able to multitask with those implants (when she had actually been listening to Serenity's classes) but she had yet to see it in spirit.
Leah finally arrived half way through the discussion about what exactly the now ex villain could do with his spare time. The coffee couldn't have come soon enough as far as the seer was concerned, she was just hoping she could avoid sleeping tonight altogether. The onion rings that came with the coffee didn't hurt either. She stuffed one onion ring in her mouth before anyone else could attack them and swallowed quickly before she opened her mouth to reply to Blackwing's comment, "Well I think a jamming field for when the authorities come to pick him up might be a good place to start." She took another swig other coffee, it was rather disgusting how she had become reliant on the stuff to keep going most nights.

athena logan Shift -- Titan leader & Shape-Shifter Athena glanced at the TV screen when Thomas mentioned changing the warrants. Her shoulders relaxed as some tension left the Titan - she and her team were no longer on the Wanted list of every cop and guard in Jump City. Which meant that neither was Young Justice or the other unaffiliated heroes - perhaps Riders' Deck members still had a few people looking for them, Shift wouldn't be surprised, but she wouldn't be asking Tommy about that. If he didn't, they had other ways to fix it - involving less brain-computers and more foot-work, but the same end result. As she turned her head, she caught sight of Lyola and nodded at the fellow Titan, happy and more at ease when she had someone on the Titans with her. Serenity was, well, Serenity - neutral, which didn't mean 'good for heroes' all of the time, as much as Shift wished it might have.
When Lyola suggested ideas, Shift nodded along, flicking at her holo-watch to turn it off. There was a bit of charge left in it, but now that she wasn't likely to be picked up for being recognized. As her green visage came back to the forefront, the shape shifter smirked proudly at Lyola calling her fearless. Not quite totally true, but true enough that it worked. "Those are good ideas." She agreed, nodding as Lyola suggested ideas. Her eyes cut back to Thomas, raising a pierced brow at him. "And yours sound acceptable, Blackhat. We'll work out a compromise... You've hurt the Titans, but we aren't the only ones you've hurt. In fact, most of the physical damage was done to the East Titans." Athena paused. "So they'll decide how you can pay them back. I'm sure the police force won't mind shipping you over there and out of their hair for a while, if that's what's needed. Before any of that, however, I think helping to rebuild the Tower would be a nice place to start."
Maybe it was because she disliked couch surfing, or maybe she was simply very eager to see that big tourist attraction back up, but rebuilding the Tower was something Shift knew needed to be done swiftly. Her team-mates were scattered around the city, huddled in clumps or going solo - and that was no way for a team to work. Not the Titans, at least. The sound of sirens wailing drew nearer, and Shift glanced out of the window, lifting her hands up to bring them together under her chin, resting her head on the scarred knuckles there. "Oh, and Blackhat, if any of us think you're going to attempt to escape at any time, you won't like the consequences. Sorina can short you out, but I think I and Blackwing prefer a more physical approach. Just a friendly tip." Tags: @reni, @blackhat, @lyola | Words: 469 | Credit: Delusional

As the threats rolled off the Titan's tongues and through the air into Thomas' ears, the full meaning carried on every syllable; he was going to pay. Morally, Thomas knew he was wrong, and media outlets were digging up more information on his father and him than before. Already the news broadcasts were mentioning the horrible legacy of his family. All he could do is listen and nod as they explained his situation to him. Slowly, he gained the gumption to stand up for himself when Athena, the green one, called him "Blackhat." Thomas looked up, dead into her eyes with conviction that bordered rage and said, "My name isn't Blackhat. It's Thomas."
But, as soon as that rise in self-confidence came, it faded at the mention of hurting Titans East. Even as he finished wiring the funds to construction companies to rebuild the tower (with plans that he had made some technological changes to, of course) he paused and looked down to the table. He seemed to see through it in reflection as he mumbled a question, "Is... is Annette alright? I never wanted to hurt her. I thought she'd be shielded... I..." He shook his head and looked back up to the trio with a sad, soft smile as he finished with, "I'm getting what I deserve."
In that final statement, something happened. Thomas felt, or stopped feeling, the change immediately. All of a sudden, he could not feel his arms, legs, or anything below his neck; then, he felt the pain at the base of his neck, and the pounding in his skull. Just as suddenly as it happened, his body began to spasm and the back of his neck literally exploded in a shower of sparks that burned through the vinyl seats behind him in the booth. He fell to the floor, immobile, unable to do anything as he felt the life draining out of him. His body, his connection to the internet, and his fears all came to a point.
Something had gone horribly wrong.

put on your shades She glanced briefly toward the window as she picked up on the approaching sirens, before smirking at Athena’s threat. Yeah, she would definitely be on the volunteer list should Blackhat- or Thomas, he seemed to prefer now –prove less than cooperative. He did seem repentive, though, so Blackwing had to give him that. Being from Gotham, it wasn’t exactly a common sight. Maybe, with some more soul-searching and tough love, this guy could really turn his life around. That would certainly-
Thomas’s body was suddenly spasming and there was a shower of sparks from his neck and he was falling to the ground. Blackwing was out of her seat in an instant, catching him just before he hit the floor. “What’s happening?!” She wasn’t sure if anyone knew any more than she did. The one with the best perspective was probably Thomas, but he didn’t exactly seem capable of speech at the moment.
She, as carefully as possible, lifted his head to get a better view of the circuits. She eyed it critically. “This whole thing is short-circuited.” Her frown deepened. She was good at electronics, but not great. “I can’t fix it.” She looked to the faces of the others. Thomas’s computer was connected to his brain, so-
“Pinch his toe” she instructed, once his body had calmed more. She leaned forward and pinched his hand, receiving no reaction. Dammit.'cause I'll be dancing in the flames
