Irazehl stood in the corner of the tower's roof, facing out into the nothingness. The cold wind chilled his naked upper body but unflinching, he stood in place almost as a statue. His lean and stretched figure made the statuesque effect more dramatic. The effect was ruined by his fluttering hair, which had become matted with neglect; the wind had also caught on his loose fit black pants, though they were much more limited in their movement. He hadn't had a good shave in a while, either.
He simply stood in place, seemingly devoid of thought, looking out the bay and to the horizon upon the sea. He breathed deeply, and though the wind blew his hair over his eyes, he kept them open. His mouth hung slightly open, giving him a vacant look. Even he had forgotten how long he had been there, and the setting sun was a sure sign he was supposed to be on his night shift. The sky lit up in orange and reflect in the small waves as they hit the shore of the island.

Serenity glanced over at her green thumbed friend. She held the door open with her bare foot staying in the warmth of the tower's interior. There was no more snow on the roof but it was still winter and much to cold to be staying outside without the shoes that she had in her hand. "Green are you planning on joining the spirit world?" she asked with a sigh slipping the white shoes onto her feet.
She had no intention of letting green stay up here forever, his future had disappeared when he had moved up here. He hadn't decided to move afterwords. "Or you could just talk." she said as she walked over to him.

Irazehl snapped out of his trace-like stupor, shaking his head a bit at the sound of her voice. He crossed his arms over his bare chest in an attempt to harm himself. "Hmm... its cold." he breathed with a small smirk, as if amused by a trivial matter. Sometimes he wondered what he looked like, his general behavior was far from normal; locking himself up in his room, obsessive training, pulling knives out and staring at them, talking to inanimate objects, putting himself into trances, disappearing without notice.
He turned to face her, his face caught in emotionless apathy. Riddled with lathargy, he dragged his feet in the rubble of the rooftop as he approached her. He looked from the shoes to his bare feet to her eyes. "Thats the trade off, my dear. I am aware, are you?"

Serenity raised an eyebrow, he was making no sense to her and she was studying psychology and had been for a while. She should know him pretty well by now yet this was shocking her beyond belief. A few moments before her friend had not possessed a future had very much concerned her.
"I am aware enough to see the ghosts on this roof putting bets on when you will join them." she said slightly disapprovingly. She had let him stay up there until she had heard the other ghosts deciding to project their decisions to the other titans. That was when she acted.
She wasn't about to claim herself to be aware in his terms. She would lose the arguement as she had no intention of verbally fighting with him at the moment. She didn't want to push him over the edge at a time where his mentality was blocking her visions.

Irazehl chuckled darkly, looking at his feet. "Thats cute." he said in a weak weathered voice, in reference to the ghosts. In an even more depressed tone he muttered, "but thats not what I meant. I would have hoped your all seeing eyes could have seen into the depths of my soul, but you cannot see your own forehead, when I with normal eyes can. Its all perspective. I am asking you: are you aware you are mortal?" He sighed, and turned to face away from her at a 90 degree angle. "I can't wait. Maybe I dont have to." The day before he had met someone, an enemy no less, who had the potential to be capable of killing him.

Serenity let her eyes study the side of the ninja's face looking for the first signs of hypothermia. She was not going to let himself worry himself until he fell into a stupor. He didn't deserve that and shouldn't have to deal with it either. "I have felt my own death Irazehl I know just how mortal I am," she said quietly glancing at the other ghosts who were dissipating as they spoke.
She finally understood what was going on with her friend. It could be boiled down to a single name, Rena. "A watched pot never boils." she said in a monotone not letting him know that she was all to aware of her own mortality.

Irazehl sighed, taking a step beck from her. He seemed to be focusing on something else, and yet was seemingly devoid of thought. "I see... so you are aware that you can die. I was asking you if you appreciated the fact that you will die. We all know, in a way, that we will die; but noone beleives it until death is thrust upon them." He stepped onto the ledge where had been balancing before and faced the ocean. "I wish you could understand what it is to be a dead soul trapped in a living body." he mumbled softly after a moment, but all that could be made out was 'promised' and 'Maemi'. He took a deep breathe and looked back towards Serenity over his shoulder with an expression of pure anguish.
Then he stepped off the ledge.
It would have been so easy, but a promise was a promise. He would live another day.
~"I will not bring about my own demise; or allow it to come through inaction. I promise."~

Serenity sighed and followed his freefall through the future while she let herself walk over to the edge of the roof. Her friend was broken, yes, about that there was no doubt, and he like most superheros just threw himself into crimefighting to avoid his thoughts. Most didn't know about his vigilante outbursts but she had found out by mistake and she wasn't going to say she knew about them until he chose to tell her.
She sighed her blond hair blowing around her face in the wind whipping at her face and arms seamingly punishing her for her inability to help her friend.

Irazehl grabbed hold of the top ledge of his opened window and flipped inside, landing softly but at high velocity on his bed, coming to a stop on a large leafy plant he had grown in his jungle of a room.
He locked his door, sat down with his back to it, and stared at the opposing wall for 19 hours. His head was filled with turmoil and anguish. His heart was filled with emptiness.
Empty.
Dark.
Dead.
He found some comfort there.
