SERENITY SWANSON know it all She reached down to scratch Zeero behind the ear when he let out his wine of impatience. She poured another cup of tea for Peter while she listened to his new recounting of the vision. He was still caught up in the horror of the event, it was not an easy thing to detach yourself from the visions that race through your head. Especially when they come out of no where. Serenity always had an easier time being detached from a vision when she was searching for herself rather then having a vision hit her randomly. Although those visions were usually accompanied by either mass deaths or her own so separating her emotions from her visions was a challenge then.
She ignored Sorina's chirp of annoyance Peter was almost there, just another nudge might get him there. "Deep breath." A deep breath wasn't going to get him into a deeper trance at this point, she just thought he needed to center himself away from the violent images he was watching. "You are on a street, find out where you are with the street signs or the addresses on the buildings." She put a hand on the dove's head to keep her quiet while she spoke again. "As for time, it is all around you. People are are their cell phones, the Position of the sky, the receipts in people's hands, and so much more can show you when you are. Remember you are a seer, time bends for you." Searching for the little details in visions like this was something that Serenity did so often it had become ingrained in her. Find out where and when something is taking place and what time she needed to get there to stop it.
There was so much detective work involved in seeing the future effectively, and so much death to be witnessed. Serenity had the advantage of being able to see into the vail of the afterlife. She knew death wasn't an end but a beginning for many people, or doves as the case may be.

Zeero nudged Serenity’s hand happily as she scratched behind his ear, tail wagging in approval. Peter, meanwhile, was taking that deep breath. He forced himself not to ponder the reasoning behind any of Serenity’s instructions. He automatically wanted to understand it, because that was how he learned. But this needed his whole focus, even if he was an excellent multitasker.
He nodded briefly at the instructions and began to look around him, recognizing some of the building. He looked behind him and knew exactly where he was. “I’m by the park.” He glanced at the road sign. “On the intersection of Fifth and Sixth.”
Now that that was taken care of, he turned his focus to finding out the time. He watched the people walking by, knowing he couldn’t touch them. Finally, he caught sight of a man wearing a watch and leaned over to read it, while walking to keep up with the man. “Five-thirteen.” He observed the sky. “In the evening.”
So now he knew where this was. Now he could stop it. He knew that wasn’t what some expected, him being a member of Rider’s Deck and all. But, as it turned out, he suspected he was one of the most moral members. He wasn’t interested in stealing or causing chaos. He was only interested in hunting down the man who killed his father. Once that was done, he saw no reason to remain with the team, or even in Jump City.

SERENITY SWANSON know it all Sorina glanced down at the dog in disapproval, she had loved dogs when she was alive. They were great for hunting and keeping sheep where they needed to be but just keeping them around for pets she didn't understand, they were to much work now just for a little companionship, now guard dogs on the other hand she could get behind.
Serenity rolled her eyes at the dove and patted Zeero on the head as she turned her attention back to her new student. He was starting to understand how the future could be changed and manipulated, "Now turn back the clock what do you see." Reviewing a vision after she had made a new decision often times changed the outcome. It was one of the many ways she got information out of people without actually talking to them... well that and giving their futures a quick once over in order to spot details that could change her opinion of someone.
Peter was not quite there yet. It had taken Serenity years to master most of her abilities she didn't have years to teach these skills if her dreams were any indication. She wasn't looking for another her by any means but if she could get another perspective on what was to come she had a better chance of coming out of this alive, and if she was being honest with herself if she didn't make it she wanted those around her to have an early warning of what was to come.

His brow furrowed slightly. Turn back the clock? How was he supposed to do that? He’d never done it before, let alone known it was possible. He wasn’t all that surprised it was possible, really, he just wasn’t sure how. He put on his face of concentration, the one that often let his grandmother know when he wasn’t listening to her. It was also one that had earned him some teasing in the seventh grade, but that wasn’t exactly a new occurrence. He decided to concentrate on the vision around him, pretend as if it was a fabric around him, that he could bend and move at will. He imagined grabbing ahold of the fabric and pulling it like a curtain, until it stopped and, suddenly, he was on the other side of the street.
“I’m on the other side of the street” he announced. He turned to see behind him. “The girl’s coming and-” A version of himself was suddenly stepping out of his body and walking up to the girl. “I’m talking to her.” He blinked and suddenly he was out of the vision and back in his living room. He frowned, glancing down to Zeero’s happy face, before turning his eyes to Serenity. “Sorry.” He let out a sigh as he ran a hand through his hair. “I just, lost it, I suppose.”

| Serenity smiled and pulled out her every trusty bottle of Mountain Dew, she didn't need to be in an artificially relaxed state to pull off some of the feats that she was teaching and she was still rather sleep deprived. Hopefully with another powerful seer around she would have some new insight into the future from the perspective of someone who wasn't so tied to Savage. Her own visions were tangled up with her own fears and nightmares and were very mixed at best. It also entailed her living through her own murder time after time. She tried not to live through that cause it drained her every time she did going through that three or four times in one viewing period wasn't something she was fond of doing.
She took a sip of her drink as Peter began to speak. She was training him slowly, it would take time for him to be able to look at someone and see their future. Hopefully she had enough time to teach him that before things started going downhill for her. "You just changed Martha's life and her little girl's futures." She grinned over at Peter, "The future can be a fickle thing but you just slowed down time around you and pulled back the fabric of time all in one vision." She screwed the cap of her half finished bottle back on.
Peter was catching on much quicker then she had hoped he would, at least they weren't still working on remote viewing in a single vision. "So what now are you going to have him view his own future." Serenity chuckled at the dove's snarky suggestion. She was not a fan of training villains to be more efficient at their jobs but anything that helped them get a better look at Savage was good for them.
The dove did have a point though, Peter should be trained how to bring on a Vision. "One more skill for the moment then I'll leave you to practice. Close your eyes and focus on your grandmother, how she prepares her tea in the morning. You know her well her quirks and mannerisms now use that fabric you just looked through to see her future." Hopefully he would be able to see through the future enough to spot a future of a familiar face.

He wasn’t sure exactly why, but he felt a rather large amount of relief when Serenity confirmed that he was going to save the woman’s life. He wasn’t sure exactly why he cared, but he just did, and it baffled him, honestly. He had sworn to forego any unnecessary actions in the search for whoever had killed his father. He had the urge to sigh and rub his face in frustration, but he didn’t let it show.
He wondered what Serenity would teach him next, if anything, and was soon answered. He frowned slightly. She wanted him to look into his grandmother’s future? He swallowed thickly. He wasn’t quite sure he wanted to know. His grandmother was old and, logically, he knew her time was limited. A part of him was in denial over it, telling himself he’d face it when it came time. It was simply science, the human body was only designed to last so long. Still, he wasn’t prepared, and somewhere in his subconscious, he knew it.
Despite this, he did as told, taking in a deep breath before closing his eyes. He ignored Zeero as the dog laid down on his foot. He focused on all the little details he knew about his grandmother: the way her face scrunched up slightly at the mention of the grumpy old man who lived in the room next to hers, how she obsessively tried to make each of her gingerbread cookies look exactly the same, the hair tie she’s used to put her hair up into a bun for who-knows-how-long. He pictured the fabric from before and took ahold of it.
He saw a hospital bed. Tubes and wires. A wrinkled hand. He heard a faint beeping.
He stood up abruptly, startling Zeero. He ran a shaking hand through his hair as he tried to compose himself. He cleared his throat, looking anywhere but at Serenity. He cleared his throat, before speaking, voice strained despite his efforts to conceal it. “I have responsibilities to attend to.” He made no move to leave, though.

| Serenity lifted her drink up to her lips again as Peter shot up like a rocket. She barely glanced at him or reacted to Sorina's rather loud screech, though she was used to those by now. This was expected, viewing the future of someone close to you is always a shock. She would have had him look into the future of any other loved ones he had but he was closest to his grandmother. It was a lesson that was hard to learn but the future was not always pretty. Something Serenity had been living through each night.
She screwed the cap back on her drink and placed it down carefully before looking back up at the other seer. "You'll find lying to me is not that easy." She pulled her hair back out of her face as she leveled a cool look over at Peter. He didn't get a very good look at his grandmother's future stroke. She would be fine either Serenity herself or Peter would be there in time. She wasn't going to let Peter live through that if she could help it.
The chair squeaked slightly on the ground as Serenity stood up, her entire five foot one inch height utterly unimposing but her eyes told a different story. "The future is not always pretty, seeing those around you die in various futures is not something that anyone can learn to view. It's hard and painful but then we take the information and we change the it. I cannot count the number of deaths I've seen, but it is worth being able to stop them." She walked around the table righting the items that had fallen over at Peter's abrupt move.
She glanced at Peter, "There are worse things to see, and many very beautiful ones." She glanced at Sorina and smiled at the dove before glancing back. "It's all about perspective."
