SERENITY SWANSON know it all Sorina fluttered her wings as she flew around the blonde's head, "This is bad idea." The dove didn't even know why they had bribed some random person's (well with Serenity it never was random) apartment and now was brewing tea on their stove. At least she had the decency to bring her own tea set. The dove just hoped she was leaving it as a housewarming gift, because otherwise just breaking into someone apartment, alright talking her way into an apartment was much to rude for the girl she had watched grow up.
Serenity flipped her hair over her shoulder as she measured out the tea leaves for the brew, "You don't even know what we're doing in here." The seer always did love reminding the dove who the know it all was. She really just wanted to see what the new seer in town knew about Savage. Well and show him a little bit more about his powers. She knew perfectly well that he wasn't in her league when it came to knowing the future, but with some work maybe he could at least see more then just the dreams he got.
Sorina shot a glare at the blonde that the girl ignored, "You're avoiding telling me hence it's a bad idea."
The blonde placed two new tea cups on the table while the water began to boil behind her, "You would approve of this one. I want to see if he knows anything about Savage." She didn't look the dove in the eye as the dove spluttered behind her. She knew what a touchy subject she was bringing up, for the last month both of them had been avoiding talking about the subject and the fact that every time Serenity closed her eyes to sleep she woke up screaming. The dreams were not letting her rest, on the plus side she'd found the extra spare time to be nice to have.
The spirit shot a shocked look at the girls back, "Wait what makes this guy so special?" Or she assumed it was a guy from the look of the apartment, it was definitely lacking a woman's touch. No heels were lying around that was the clue she was going with. Yet she was probably not one to judge apartments by look, Serenity had bought a renovated church to live in that didn't exactly say twenty-year-old-college-student.
The medium shot a glare at her spirit animal as she poured the now boiling water into the tea pot, "Peter's a seer." The blonde placed the now full pot of tea on the table and waited for it to seep a moment before pouring herself a cup of tea. "Yes he is the one working with Rider's Deck, he is also the only other one in the city currently so you can save your complaints for later." She pulled a seat out at the table and sat to wait for him to come home.
With a quick glance at the pocket watch dangling from her necklace she smiled. He wouldn't be to much longer now. She sipped her tea while she waited for him to arrive.

Peter sighed as he rounded the corner of the block, his apartment building now in site. He supposed he should get a car, or a bike. While walking everywhere was the healthier and more economical solution, it wasn’t exactly logical in some instances. Luckily, his grandmother’s home wasn’t so far away, and that was where he went most.
Zeero trotted happily by Peter’s side, following behind briefly to sniff a damp leaf, before his attention was caught by the tug on his leash and he returned to Peter’s side. Peter’s stomach growled and he glanced at the dog, who was watching him happily. “What should we have for lunch?” The dog just continued to stare at him, tail wagging leisurely. “You’re no help.” He grinned anyway.
He reached the building and dug his keys out of his pocket. He sorted through the keys as he climbed the stairs, before the superintendent caught his eye as he walked by. He was a balding man, mid-forties perhaps, with a bit of a beer-belly. He winked at Peter and wiggled his eyebrows, glancing to Peter’s door briefly.
“Have fun, kid.” Peter blinked in confusion, watching the man leave, before glancing toward his door. He looked to Zeero, as if the dog could provide any sort of explanation, but he supposed he was as clueless as he was. How odd.
Frowning slightly, he walked up to his door and put the key in, frown deepening when he discovered it was already unlocked. Why…? Several possibilities raced through his mind. Maybe he was robbed. He knew he had locked it when he left. The superintendent’s odd behavior might have something to do with this. Maybe some… paid companionship had showed up to the wrong room? He supposed that was one of the least likely scenarios, but it was one of the most frightening, if he was being honest.
He turned the doorknob and opened the door slowly, shortening Zeero’s leash to keep the dog from bounding in. If Zeero wasn’t such a small dog, he probably could’ve threatened the possible intruder with him. But he didn’t want to risk Zeero getting hurt. He poked his head in cautiously, wincing as the door gave a slight creak.
His eyes immediately landed on Serenity, sitting at his table. He recognized her from the meeting with the Titans. He eyed her suspiciously. While he was fairly sure she wasn’t an enemy, she had broken into his apartment, after all. “What are you doing here?” Normally, he would’ve tried practicing his manners. He suspected uninvited guests were the exception for politeness, though.

SERENITY SWANSON know it all Serenity smiled as the door creaked and she took a sip of her tea. She had always found people attempting to sneak up on her amusing, especially now that she was keeping an almost obsessive eye on the future. No Bat or any other kind of rat was getting near her without her having some sort of idea of what was to come.
She placed the teacup back in it's saucer and both were placed back on the table. "Is a girl allowed to come for a nice conversation?"
The dove snorted from where she was sitting on the table. "Uh huh and if that's all we're here for I'm a purple elephant." Sorina was ticked off at both the situation and the blonde for not giving her any more information about what was going on. She was keeping secrets which was quite honestly par for the course with her. It was just annoying to have to deal with it when she was so worried about the girl herself.
The blonde resisted the urge to turn to her companion and say 'It's a pink elephant.' It was hard but as she poured a second cup of tea and refiled her own she did crack a smile, "I brought a housewarming gift, and some questions from seer to seer. I want a professional opinion." She hated coming to anyone else for help, standing on her own two feet was something she had been doing since she could walk. Relying on someone else even if he was slightly leaning toward the side of the hero's in town was something she was not used to or very good at.

Eyeing her cautiously, he slowly entered the apartment, shutting the door behind him. Zeero started letting out several yips, eager to greet the guest, it seemed, as he tugged on his leash. “If you had called, perhaps.” Never mind the fact that he didn’t have her number, nor she his. But, then again, he didn’t even know that she knew where he lived. He supposed that should be his first question.
Maybe she was looking for… companionship. His grandmother had warned him about this: a conventionally attractive- her words, not his -young man like him living alone in the city. She said it was only a matter of time before some girl threw herself at him. He’d rolled his eyes. Girls had never paid much attention to him, so he didn’t know why they would suddenly start to. Besides, wasn’t his grandmother the one constantly encouraging him to find a girlfriend? She needed to make up her mind.
Zeero seemed particularly fixated on something on the table, but Peter chose to ignore him for the moment. He didn’t let him off his leash, in case perhaps Serenity was uncomfortable with dogs or something. Despite the fact that this was his apartment and she had broken in. He just didn’t like it when people were scared, he supposed.
He eyed the beverage, the tension slowly leaving him with each moment that it became clear she didn’t mean harm. He hesitated slightly, before moving to the table to take a seat. He slid his cup closer to him, but didn’t go to drink it just yet. “I wouldn’t call myself a professional.” Not by a long shot, really. He supposed he had mastered maybe, thirty-three percent of his abilities, and that was being generous on his behalf. He supposed he could’ve learned more from the psychic his father had originally taken him to, had the lady not been so old and such a fan of chili.
He glanced down at Zeero exasperatedly as the dog kept tugging on his leash. “Lay down.” The dog obeyed, but his attention never left the table. For now, Peter decided to chalk it up to his dog being odd. He had been the runt of the litter, after all, so he supposed it was likely that there were some abnormalities with him.

SERENITY SWANSON know it all Serenity appreciated the thought as Peter kept his dog on a leash but it was very much unneeded. Half of her time had been spent living in a tower of super powered teenagers. One of whom could turn into any animal she so desired. To put it mildly it was a zoo on the best of days. While it was also true that some animals just didn't like her due to her close connection to the dead. Animals either loved her or hated her. Though Zeero seemed to be able to see Sorina which was an interesting turn of events. More interesting when she had discovered the information about five minutes ago but still it was an interesting point.
Sorina fluttered to the edge of the table and glanced down at the dog below, "That dog can see me can't she?" Serenity didn't bother to correct the dove and tell her it was in fact a he. She didn't want to ruin the dove's fun.
The blonde grinned at the dove watching her friend with her eyes while she spoke with Peter, "True you're not, but for now you're the second strongest clairvoyant in the city." she considered her words as she sipped her tea. She did want to ask Peter about Vandal Savage and what he was going to do when he came to the city, mostly because Peter got concrete visions of what was to come. Serenity herself saw much more and could deduce the future from what she was seeing but she rarely saw exactly what would happen as it tended to change. She turned back to look at Peter, "Vandal Savage is on his way to Jump. It's been slightly forgotten in the ongoing drama but he wants revenge and to thin the ranks of the next generation."
Serenity was now ignoring the look on the dove's face. Sorina wanted her to mention the fact that she saw her own death every time she closed her eyes. Yes it was important to give Peter all the facts but some things were still personal. "Before he arrives you need some training, your abilities are much to unpredictable for someone with your potential. In case something happens to me someone in Jump needs to be able to spot an apocalypse before it happens." While it was all the truth she was still attempting to downplay her role in the upcoming fight. If she did her job right with Peter she wouldn't have to say the words out loud, he would be able to find out for himself.
The dove glared at the blonde still sipping her tea, "Wait your training one of the villains in the city, are you actually BLONDE IN THE HEAD??" Serenity waved her hand at the Dove to make her take off into the air. One of these days she was going to have this argument ahead of time so during the event she wasn't hearing one side of an argument between herself and her companion.

He frowned slightly when she said he was the second strongest clairvoyant in the city. He assumed she was referring to herself as the strongest, but for all he knew, there could’ve been other clairvoyants out there. He preferred the numbers be crunched before such a statement be made. “As far as we know.” Then again, maybe she knew for sure. He wasn’t sure to what extent her abilities reached.
He turned his attention briefly to his tea, finally taking a sip of the beverage. He gave a slight nod to himself, as if to show approval. It wasn’t the worst tea he’d had, to be honest. His attention was caught by Serenity once more, though, when she mentioned Savage. He swallowed. He’d heard of the immortal man before. Safe to say, avoiding him seemed the most logical choice. He glanced away, wishing he could see the details of Savage’s visit. He didn’t seem to have visions of the distant future, though. Really, his powers hardly seemed to be of any use lately.
He blinked in surprise when she basically offered to train him. He hadn’t been expecting that. Really, he hadn’t been expecting any of this, which went to show how useless his abilities could be at times. To be able to control it and understand it, now that was something he wanted, no, needed . Maybe that way he could finally find the man who killed his father.
He was silent for a moment, obviously in thought. He wanted to tell her that if Vandal Savage came, he’d be out of town with his grandmother and dog at the first opportunity. He held not loyalty to Jump City. He’d only ever come due to compelling evidence that his father’s killer was here, and maybe even had a connection to Nebula. That was it. It also wasn’t as if he’d grown particularly close to any of the residents of the city yet.
But he was being present with the prospect of learning. He wasn’t sure when the last time he truly learned something was, especially something pertaining to his abilities. He couldn’t turn that down. He just couldn’t.
“Alright,” he said, ignoring Zeero as the dog’s gaze seemed to follow some invisible object into the air. He also wasn’t going to mention that he’d seen an apocalyptic vision before. Mostly because he wasn’t sure whether it was a vision or a mere dream. “What exactly do you have in mind?”

SERENITY SWANSON know it all She let a small grin slide it's way across her face as she laced her fingers together and watched him sip the calming tea. True she was not an expert at brewing Dragon Well tea in the traditional Buddhist style but the effects would still be the same. Expanding one's grasp on psychic abilities was not like going to school and listening through lectures, no, this would be a hard task for Peter especially as he was very logical in his thought processes. It was true that his mind would help him gather information.
That was a conversation for a later date, right now they would start small. Just returning to a vision that he had already witnessed would be a challenge to someone who didn't particularly flex their abilities. Serenity had been returning to visions and such from such a young age she couldn't remember learning this particular skill. She had been delving into the differing futures in order to have future arguments with her mother and other topics for years, but it was somewhere small to start. "First finish your tea, it will help." She didn't give it much time before the tea started to calm him down.
It wouldn't be long before he caught on to her, the dove kept whispering that in her ear rather colorfully. These were all of the dove's favorite topics all rolled into one. Villains becoming more powerful, the blonde's visions of her own death, and Vandal Savages upcoming arrival. It didn't help that the 'female' dog could see her. It was unsettling when she was around anyone or anything that could sense her. When someone could see her it wasn't so disconcerting as she could hold a conversation with said person but just being sensed was strange. "You are training a Villain, it doesn't matter how much they say their neutral they still put a bomb in Titans Tower before even Blackhat was around." She may have been slightly grumpy about the entire ordeal.
One short glare at the dove in an attempt to silence the tirade that was to come. It seemed she would be training Peter and getting a lecture on sound life choices at the same time. This would not be fun. "Now close your eyes and go back to your most recent vision of the future, one that has not yet occurred. Remember the smell of the air, the sounds around you, go back into it." It was nice to be the teacher for once. She had all these skills locked away in her mind that she rarely got to use. Now she was allowed to teach another what she had discovered over all her years.

So, her first task for him was simple. He easily picked up the cup and drank the rest in one big gulp. It was still pretty warm, but having just come from outside, that was fine. He then set the cup back down and waited patiently for her next words. He blinked, feeling his body slowly loosen. He frowned slightly. Wow, he was getting calm. It was odd. He wasn’t sure when he was last this calm, and without a book in his hand.
He squinted at her. His grandmother had also warned about this. “What kind of tea is this?” He began to go through the list of teas he knew, while also considering the possibility of drugs. His grandmother had said to avoid the clubs in order to avoid being drugged. She didn’t mention anything about it happening in his own apartment.
He sighed, though. He wasn’t feeling nauseous or overly exhausted, so he supposed there was no harm being done. He paid complete attention as she instructed him, before doing as told. He closed his eyes and remembered the most recent one, narrating the whole time.
“I’m outside. It’s about fifty-two degrees, with a wind chill of...” He paused, calculating. “Three degrees. I smell hotdogs, because there’s a hotdog cart two feet away. There’s a blue jay chirping in a tree about three feet away at a fifty-five degree angle from me.” He frowned as he got to the next part. “There’s a scream, feminine, I believe, and everything around me, just shatters. Nothing except darkness, until some headlights race toward me. A bus, I think? The vision ended right as it struck me.” He opened his eyes, curious to hear what she had to say. He’d had the vision shortly before he had arrived home. While it wasn’t the happiest vision he’s had, it also wasn’t the worst, so he was fairly unfazed. He assumed someone was going to be hit by a bus. While it wasn’t the best way to go and he certainly felt sorry for whoever it was, he doubted it was him. He also had no idea when this was going to happen, so he was unable to stop it.

SERENITY SWANSON know it all A smile slid across the blonde's face at Peter's words. One thing she wouldn't have to teach him is which questions to ask. It was nice that he didn't ask if the tea was drugged, that should have been obvious from even the one cup he had finished already, "It's a traditional Buddhist Dragon Well tea. It helps to calm the mind for meditation." She smiled as he closed his eyes to follow her directions and poured Peter a second glass of tea as she listened to his words for the second time.
He was simply recounting the vision back to her, it was a step in the right direction but for this to work he would have to throw his genius intellect out the window. The tea helped with that. It wasn't exactly easy for her to teach something that she had instinctively learned as she had grown older. It was like teaching someone how to smell or hear more clearly. Not an easy task but the seer was up for a challenge. "Good," she passed him another full cup of tea as he looked back at her, "now drink the tea and clear your mind, think only of the sounds of blue jays." She waited for him to acclimate to her words. It wouldn't be easy to just throw away one's way of thinking. She knew this all too well. When she had taken a year to just take classes she had forced an entirely new way of thinking on herself in order to fit into a normal life. "You smell food from a Vendor, the bustle of the crowd around you. People are going about their own lives not paying attention to you." She was very glad at this moment that she had taken that seminar on meditation. "Now open your eyes." If she had prompted him correctly he should now be back in his vision.
Only this time he wouldn't be living through the eyes of the victim, he should be there as a third party simply watching the events. Sometimes the emotions of a person's future could drag the viewer into experiencing the event along with them. If one could stay calm this was an avoidable effect most of the time, much like lucid dreaming. Or as Serenity often called it Lucid Visions. "Now can you tell me what you see around you?" She herself was now viewing the crash from her own perspective, the suicide was one she was planning on being at tomorrow. She was hoping to not only stop it from happening but if she could get Peter to see his vision of the event more clearly then he would have a chance to stop the event.

He was rather reluctant to drink the rest of the tea, not enjoying the idea of induced calm. Still, he did as told anyway. He supposed the end result would be worth going outside his comfort zone, for once. He drank the next cup in a few gulps. He didn’t have to be psychic to know that if this kept up, he’d be having to take a bathroom break eventually.
He focused on the sound of blue jays as he felt his body and mind calm even further. While he was used to using his mind to multitask, he had excellent focus when he wanted to. Still, it was difficult not to analyze every little detail. But he just focused on the blue jays. He allowed his mind to drift into the memory of the vision, cutting out everything else except Serenity’s voice, not even paying Zeero’s whine of impatience any mind.
He opened his eyes when told. He supposed, if he wasn’t so used to opening his eyes to unexpected scenes, he would’ve been surprised to no longer be in his apartment and to be reliving the vision once more. He looked around his surroundings, so far the perspective not being any different than when he first had the vision. “It’s the same.” He turned though, to view an angle he hadn’t before. He eyed the busy intersection, comprehension coming as he sees an approaching bus. “The bus is coming.” The light for the bus was green, so it wasn’t slowing as it approached the intersection. He found his attention then drawn to a young woman approaching the intersection. There was a dead, defeated look in her eyes and somehow he knew. “The victim- a woman –is approaching.” He swallowed a strange lump that was forming in his throat. He had the urge to surge forward and stop the woman. But he knew this was just a vision and it had yet to happen. “She’s stepping onto the intersection and-” He flinched as the bus slammed into the woman and several screams permeated the air. He swallowed. He had to stop this. He could stop this.
Right?
