Live as Nella for awhile. Of course, when she heard the sirens, Rena decided to not follow to see the commotion. She didn't entirely care, but she did know that her gamerboy, Irazehl was either asleep, or chasing after the sirens himself, as his notsupposedtoknow superhero self, the famous Nightshade.
At least it was a nice morning, though she could definitely do without the slowly forming patches under her eyes. Little rings that showed to a sharp eye, that she hadn't slept the night previous. Nella stood in line, brown hair atop her head, and green lenses placed over her eyes. A jacket, and simple pants helped protect her from the brisk air. "Just one... yeah," she replied, to the cashier. She came here most mornings for a cup of coffee, it was near where she stayed with the good doctor.
"Sure... that's fine," she replied, stepping away from the counter, leaving behind the exact change, 2.17, for the large cup of coffee. A bit more expensive than big chain places, but she did have a bit of loyalty here, over Caribou, not in the least that she once helped out here part time, as Tinker. Not that anyone would link Tinker to Rena, or Rena to Nella, for that matter.
Nella sat at an unoccupied table outside, neither the closest to the road, nor to the building, and her eyes followed the last of the siren blarers speed down. The city that never rested, that was nearly as popular as New York, New York in terms of heroes. She ignored it, or more likely forced it from her mind, and sat down heavily onto the wire frame chair. It was hard, like this, this self control thing... Her breath came out in thin wisps, as she thought about the other thing on the front of her mind, the tall, well toned man with long, messy red hair, Kaos, a figured that took up many ofher thoughts, not that she'd ever get with him though. Sooner put a bullet between his eyes.
But he was involved with much of what kept her up at night, and her dreams filled with blood. A comrade of circumstance. "Tch..." she huffed out, a hand gripping her right forearm, fingers tracing an injury beneath that she had hidden. The coffee wasn't coming fast enough, for that bitter tasted to distract her, and closed her eyes tightly, willing them to see only blackness, not memories.

Chae was up early as ever - her endless joyous energy, and the sustaining restorative powers of her emotional lights, let her barely sleep and still be fine. In fact, she was always more than fine - it was as if her body just didn't get tired, sometimes, so she was up most days and nights. That didn't mean she couldn't keep a normal routine, though - in fact, she had quite a wonderful one, involving a quick flight to Jump most days. So when she strode into the coffee joint with a grin, deep fuschia low cut shirt with a very black short skirt with pinkish-violet undertones, with equally fuschia dyed hair, it wasn't really weird at all. She wasn't quite a regular at this one, but it had good coffee in her opinion, and she was always happy to have a nice cup once she landed. Something about crash landings made her exhausted, if not exactly tired. She didn't exactly blend in in the best of days, but her giggling glee as she hopped into line was certainly something to most of the tired morning people. This was disregarding her appearance, which as always drew a few stares, not only for the attractiveness, but just from the colorful nature. There were sirens nearby, but Lexi didn't seem too concerned - so long as she didn't start hearing explosions, clearly someone would handle it. Plus, what kind of real villain would start their heists in the early morning? It couldn't have been anyone that Rainbow needed to be concerned with, or anything. So the little superheroine waited her turn as one by one other people ordered, and then proceeded to order the most overly fancy, overly caffeinated, overly sugared iced coffee she could. It was, of course, requested with caramel flavoring as well. This was likely a little weird - even if the morning was nice, it was still mid fall, and the coastal winds were bringing in a bit of a breeze - most people wouldn't drink something iced. A card was charged as Chae turned away, looking for where she could sit. Most of the time she sat near the edge, so she could watch people walking, but there just happened to be someone looking miserable on their own. And so the tiny woman made her way over there, pulling out a chair and sitting before asking, "You mind if I sit here, darling? You look like you could use some company." She gave that sweet innocent smile of her, and a cute giggle that was hidden behind a hand. Words: 427 Tags SheiNotes: I'm bad at posting i'm sorry.

It was hard not to notice the... rather bright individual. That chipper tone that sliced through the crisp air. The much too brightly colorued hair that stroked the breezes around. If this were some comic, the word 'love interest' may as well be glaring in obvious bright red letters over her head, complete with flashing lights and arrows. Rena wasn't even sure what to think on it, but the words trying too hard definitely fit the bill.
"Do what you want," she half asked, wondering what the catch was. Am I some comic character now? The world is monotone, and the hero falls in love at first sight, suddenly seeing colours in the world in these lensed green eyes of hers? Doubt it, besides, that would involve the hope of hers for Irazehl to fade away, in hostilities, so this rainbow girl would pick them back up. Not happening, but that was imagination for you, it ran off like that sometimes. Besides, romantic comedies got annoying rather quickly.
"Your coffee ma'am," Of course, the old woman that minded the shop, had little chance of knowing this regular, was the same Tinker whose 'in memory of' photo sat on the counter. Heroes were still appreciated, even deceased ones, it seemed. Nella made a mental note to burn that picture. She didn't like to think of that time of her life anymore. And not for a long time.
Nella took the coffee without even a muttered thanks, smelling the nice brew, before taking a sip, feeling the burning liquid wash her mouth. It hurt, kinda badly too, it was much too hot to drink right away, but she didn't mind. It, along with the strenght of the roast, helped quell her nerves. A fix, if you will. Coffee's always been a bit of her goto for just about anything. First coffee, then therapy, that way the therapist had less of a chance to be run through several times. Mornings before coffee? Terrible. Mornings after coffee? Bad.

"Do what you want," the girl said, so non-commital, no joy over a pretty girl wanting to sit with them, nor annoyance over someone pestering them. That was always the worst part, at least when someone got angry it meant they weren't sad, but when people just didn't care it always got on Chae's nerves. So she clearly made a good choice to come to the coffee shop, and clearly it was fate for her to be there at the same time as this girl, "So my name's Chae, darling! Well it's actually Alexandra because my mom, but uugh that sounds so boring. I mean you can call me Lexi if you want too, I really don't care, dad just always said to introduce myself as Chae, but like, why do I need to follow silly cultural stuff, I mean, he was born in America! Ugh, now I'm just complaining, sorrysorry, ignore that ignore that~! Thank you!" The rambling gleeful girl talked at a mile a minute, like a chipmunk that had been given an energy drink - and she hadn't even had a sip of her coffee yet. In fact, it only just arrived as she finished talking, prompting her to beam a big smile up to the old lady who brought it out to her, "Thankiethankya." She said quickly to her, as she snatched it up, quickly ripping open a straw and putting it down in the iced coffee, taking a big drink of it through the straw, eyes dancing over Nella, "You know it's bad to burn yourself on hot coffee, sets off a bad mood for the whole day. It's why I like mine Iced, you can drink it as soon as it gets here, no waiting at all!" It was just energetic small talk, but she couldn't just come out and say something like 'hey I'm kinda of emphatic, and you seem to be miserable, you wanna talk?' Not only would that be revealing she has powers, even if it's the least powerful of her powers, but this girl might think she's insane - plenty of people claimed to have powers, and most of them were lying or crazy. Plus, people tended to be uncomfortable once she revealed she could sense their feelings, even just a bit - an invasion of privacy she guessed. She understood it on one hand, and thought it was silly on another - it wasn't like she was a mind reader, she just could feel in the pit of her stomach when someone was unhappy. But sometimes people were weird like that, and she'd learned to just not talk about it. Words: 437 Note: Wow has it been over a month? I'm good. Tags: Shei
