Less than ten hours before, Chae had been accepted as a 'member-in-training' at the East Titans. The first part of her goal, finding a team to establish herself with, was well underway now. The small woman was extremely pleased, and slipped out of where she was told to stay without a single thought on how the East Titans might be upset at her. Activating her powers, the majorly blue and orange costume cloaked her, and she took off like a bullet from where she stood. It was time for her to reward herself with a bit of shopping.
But Steel City was too gritty, too serious. It was a wonderful place to meet people and make a name, but it just lacked the fun of Jump City, the huge malls and large stores that everyone enjoys. So it was time for a trip. A cross country trip, to reward herself for her job well done in entering a team. By civilian plane it'd take only a few hours, four or five maybe, but Chae was faster than that. When her powers worked, at least.
Three times in the trip her powers stopped working - causing her to crash into trees, into large open fields, and even into a small lake. But the entire trip took only a little more than an hour - even with crashing she was quick. She flew into Jump City, the rainbow trail leaving rainbows through the sky, remaining long after she had flown past. She knew exactly where she was going, despite only ever being to the city once. Her sense of direction was always perfect when finding where to shop.
It was still mid afternoon when she touched down behind the mall, Chae was intent on keeping her civilian appearance and her heroic costume out of peoples minds for as long as she could! Not because she actually worried about it, but because that was the proper way to go about it, and she clearly was the most proper of heroes, now. So as she landed, the rainbow colored outfit, a full body suit with even a mask (to keep insects out of her face) was released, a glittering sparkle left behind as the light was suddenly freed from its hardened state. She was left in a silver jacket, over a fancy shirt, with a black skirt - all of which were marked with the obvious designer labels, worth more for being labeled than they were for any true value, surrounded by rainbow sparkles for a few moments.
And then she heard it, someone nearby, talking. She turned quickly as she heard it, spinning on the tip of her toes, fast enough to raise her skirt's edge just a little, with the self generated wind. A short, yet still nearly a foot taller than her, blonde woman sat nearby, and when Chae looked at her she gave a soft nervous laugh, "You, ah, didn't see that, right?" She asked it a bit hopefully, tilting her head slightly to the side, her currently pink hair keeping into its position, besides a few strands moving in front of the half-human's eyes. A soft hopeful smile left as an expression after the laugh had ended.

Sorina flew around in circles by where Serenity was lazing on the bench. While not unusual for the two to be together lately they had been rather inseparable as neither wanted to loose sight of the other after their last forced separation. "So why haven't we told Athena that there's a runaway easter in her city."The dove didn't get the concept of a gentle warning.
Serenity pulled a wayward strand of blonde hair behind her ears, "If she was doing so maliciously I would but no one will miss her while she's gone so a slap on the wrist is more prudent."The seer glanced up at the sky as Chae begun her rather impressive decent. She had expected a little bit of a stumble but it seemed the new titan had managed a picturesque landing.
Sorina scoffed at the titan, "She's changing without making sure no one is around? Really?" Sorina had seen some blunders in her many days but this was rather crucial. Not revealing one's secret identity was rather important for hero's today.
Serenity chuckled at the comment crossing her jean clad legs, "You know how much I loathe agreeing with you, but this time I'm right beside you." Annette would have her hands full with this one
"You, ah, didn't see that, right?"
Emerald eyes met the doves and both sets of eyes rolled, "Relax Alex I knew you were coming, but really look next time you change." Serenity pushed herself up off the bench and pulled a borrowed purse over her shoulder. Not only was she here to tell off the new girl but she also needed a new wardrobe since most of the clothes that were at the tower were either her old wardrobe or borrowed from various members. She just wanted a pair of shoes that fit correctly.
Sorina landed on her friends shoulder, "The Titans can't be that desperate for recruits." A hand came up to keep the dove quiet. Yes Serenity agreed this one would take some work and needed to start to see the grittier side of the world but she was new, in most futures she mellowed out slightly.
The medium walked over to the shorter girl, it was nice to be much taller then someone for a chance. Usually she needed a pair of very high heels to feel so large and in charge. "Next time give Annette a heads up that your going out of town, and Shift a call if your headed to Jump. They like to keep track of their Titans. That lovely little communicator isn't just for show."

As she was scolded, her happy expression instantly turned to defensiveness, a prideful twirl of her pink locks of hair as her other arm goes to her hip, a pout on her face, just a bit over exaggerated as she puffs out her cheeks a little. "Well suh-arr-reee," She drags out the word with a roll of her eyes, "For not expecting some weirdo to be sitting behind the ma-" The extremely tiny girl finally seemed to understand something, as she taunted Serenity, her eyes going wide for a moment.
"Wait..." She whispered it more than spoke it aloud for the other woman to hear, and then pointed a finger directly at the girl in a quick motion, "Who are you, and how do you know I'm a titan? Wait. No. How do you know my name! How do you know I snuck out?" She very quickly rambled through her questions in quick succession, each time she asked one wagging her finger towards Serenity. Much unlike her attitude, however, her free hand did drop to her white leather belt, attached to it the small communicator that she'd apparently forgotten to use, and she looked a little sheepish, before assuring herself internally, and speaking again, "And I'm just going for a short trip! I'll be back before anyone even notices! And I wanted to shop, they can't possibly blame me for that!" She assured the blonde woman of that fact, her tone quickly turning to her haughty princess-like tone, oh so self assured. She had backed away just a bit as the taller woman approached.
She wasn't exactly one to make great first impressions, especially when someone starts off with criticism.
Chae was, unfortunately, unable to spy or here the dove insulting her, her powers 'off' as they were - even if she could possibly spy a dead spirit with them on, potentially. Which she couldn't, normally.

While Chae ranted Sorina nudged her companion in the cheek speaking through her giggling, "You're forgetting the pleasantries again." She was always amused when Serenity forgot simple things like introducing herself. The dove assumed her mind was just so far ahead of where the conversation was taking place she simply forgot to mention the little things. Although she was always glad when the medium did forget said pleasantries it led to very entertaining outbursts like the one they were now listening to.
Serenity sighed and reached a hand into her bag, "I'm Serenity, and if anyone else was going to notice you it wouldn't be me sitting here waiting for you it would be one angry shapeshifter. I'm not sure either would consider shopping a crime but forgetting to tell your team where you are is not something I would recommend." Her hand pulled out her own communicator from the bottom of her bag and let it drop back into her bag. She was honestly glad that she was still considered an honorary titan, the future had been uncertain there for a minute but even though she hid it she was glad to be considered a semblance of a titan.
Sorina rolled her eyes and ruffled her feathers against the green eyed clairvoyant, "How do you know." Serenity was usually better at keeping track of the timelines.
Serenity shot a glance at the dove and turned her inspecting eyes back on the new girl in front of her, "I can see the future, that's how I know your name and why your here. It's how I knew to wait for you here as well." She brushed a piece of nonexistent lint of her white shirt and pulled her bag on her arm again. The seer was never all that much of a people person despite being a psychology masters student. She was always just a little to all knowing for most people's liking. Sorina would probably use the words control freak or haughty but it didn't matter much to Serenity as long as the number of deaths were manageable and no evil spirits went rampaging down first street.
Serenity gestured to the back door she had jammed open, "Now we can either discuss how you forgot to check the ally before changing or we can go shopping, your choice." Serenity would have loved to get in a few more jabs like 'your on a team now so start acting like it' but Alex would not take to kindly to much more. She had said her piece time to let it go.

Chae's cheeks puffed up indigently as Serenity continued to scold her for her actions, she didn't seem to take a single bit of the scolding seriously, hands on her hips, head tilted to the side, with a tiny scowl at the woman scolding her, clearly tired of it already. "I didn't forget!" She insists it a bit quickly in response to the blonde woman's words, a roll of her eyes accompanying her indignant tone, "It was going to be a surprise when I came back with new stuff for everyone! Besides, it's not like they need me there right this second!" Her communicator was taken off the belt briefly, and Chae glanced over it, as if considering taking the advice of calling in now at least, before hooking it back to the white belt, flipping her hair.
The next bit of her speech was just a bit mumbled, though she seemed happy about it more than upset. It's difficult but possible for Serenity to hear it as she seems to talk to herself, "Just a few hours and already someone's going out of their way to track down where I would be soon. Even if she's rude, at least she understands how wonderful meeting with me is." The self assuring whispers from the prideful woman seem to just pump her up further, as she turns up her head at Serenity - not to see up at the tall woman, but as if she'd be able to look down on her. It doesn't work terribly well, with how absolutely tiny the half-human was. "If you can see the future, you should have seen that you should call me Chae, not Alex. We aren't that good of friends yet, Nity"
As she calls the seer by the nickname, she strides forwards towards her, then spins on her toes again in another quick motion as she reaches her side, her skirt once again flapping from it for a moment. "But you may win me over if you keep suggesting we shop." The shorter girl had no embarrassment as she reached to link arms with the woman she had literally just met and only been insulted by so far, "It's always better to shop with someone else. Especially when that someone is me." A happy giggle is had as she makes her prideful remark. If not resisted, she would happily lead the blonde out of the alley towards the actual entrance of the mall, finally, all of her anger over being scolded gone suddenly as she practically skipped.

The blonde very obviously bit her tongue to stop herself from retorting, she was not going look into what Annette would say at her own missing member but she'd glance at that future after she'd finished making sure nothing went drastically wrong. Serenity was a much kinder punishment then any of the other titans. Serenity had no technical authority to speak of other then her disapproving raised eyebrow.
Serenity smirked as her favorite spirit scoffed, "Nity? Never thought of that one but that's besides the point, please tell me this one learns an ounce of respect." A squawk came out of her beak as Alex or Chae or whatever grabbed onto Serenity's arm. She glanced at the psychic in concern seeing as her back was still recovering after popping her stitches twice, hopefully the painkillers didn't bother her to much. She flew around the two irritated with the entire situation.
A wince briefly crossed Serenity's features as her arm was tugged upon. It would have bothered her more if she hadn't seen it coming earlier that day but still it was annoying. At least she was able to mask her pain with an amused eye roll, Alex really was rather excitable and probably would have come across as just young if she hadn't decided to berate the seer. As it was she figured a villain would need to knock her down a peg or two for her to be slightly easier to work with. "Well Alex I figure since we are about to go shopping together that makes us friends."
She tactfully ignored the second comment about who was the best shopper, the girl had obviously never been shopping with someone who could see how well something would fit just by looking at it on the rack. There was an upside to seeing the future and fast shopping was one of the best perks. Serenity led the way through the door and pointed down the mall, "The designer labels are down that way, if you would like to start there." Serenity was glad that she could at least afford to buy one or two pieces, not that she would buy more then that due to the life that clothes of titans usually had. Durable jeans and white T-shirts were all she was looking for, something she wouldn't need to replace in a week.
She looked at her dove and tried not to smirk at the ruffled feathers. The spirit was not a fan of what was going on.

Chae, never the most observant of anyone other than herself despite her intense care for others didn't realize the pain she had caused 'Nity' as she tugged at the arm. Luckily, despite the small girl being generally fit, she wasn't exactly strong - Serenity was pulled along more from her own not wanting to or trying to detach herself - Chae on her own would never be able to drag the woman while not powered, or if she did it would be with both arms and under effort, rather than while skipping happily along.
The blemish-less girl did her skipping as they walked, giggling softly as Serenity made her comment on being friends, "Well, I guess if you think we're friends, I'll have to take it at that." She wriggled her nose at the woman, in obviously mock distaste - in fact she seemed quite happy behind that little show, beaming a smile afterwards, only becoming more obviously enthused as they passed through the threshold, and entered the mall itself. Soon after though, her entire expression changed. While her eyes danced around the mall happily as she looked over all the stores from outside, her expression was solid, serious, like this was the most important thing in the world.
A click of some fingers and a small giggle were had as Serenity pointed out where the labels would be, wagging her free hand's finger at the blonde woman, "Well, you know just the way to charm me, don't you Nity?" A soft giggle had behind her fingers, her teeth showing just a bit as she smiled at the seer. There was not even a hint of awkwardness from her end, as if she and the blonde were best friends for forever. She moved a little closer as she continued to hold the arm, mock whispering, "And if you see anything you think would be really pretty on you, I'll even get it for you!" It was offered without any judgement behind it from as far as anyone could tell - Chae honestly simply offering to buy someone some pretty, and expensive, clothes.
She would take up the lead, not quite pulling at Serenity's arm as she lead her down to the designer stores, but at least making her walk with her. She seemed to bask in the stares that they got as they walked, her magazine model fitting appearance drawing eyes from the common folk even without her powers activated. This seemed to encourage and cheer her up even more so than the offer of going shopping had, and it's clear that she had no intention to tone it down for the other woman's sake, instead dragging her into it. Not even a single hint of a blush or that the attention was anything other than what was right.

Serenity smiled at the girl next to her, it amazed her how innocent she was not two minutes ago she was being chastised for going off the rails and now she was giggling about designer clothes. Serenity herself could never remember a time when she had been quite so giddy, but she had been talking to the dead for as long as she could remember. Early exposure to death tended to put a dampener on the happy-skippy-joy-joy of life during the formative years. It had never bothered her, even now looking at Chae's enthusiasm she was glad for the early exposure to death. She was more practical for it.
A knowing look crossed her face as she glanced down at the younger girl, "I have enough cash to pay for myself but thank-you for the offer." Why people kept playing her at cards she would never know. Well those she won quite a bit of money off of she also tended to turn in to the police. That could be a contributing factor. She just wished she could do something with the money other then put it in a tax shelter; the government tended to frown on clairvoyants in the stock exchange.
Sorina flapped by the emerald eyed seer's ear, "You and the probie are being stared at." The spirit had noticed the staring before the medium had even cared. The blonde had attracted some attention in her day with her sharp features and blonde hair but she tended not to dress the part, she was just glad that now she wasn't the center of attention as she was still in hiding from a certain villain.
The clairvoyant glanced in a shop that it seemed like Chae would like from the number of bags that she carried out, "After you Chae." Serenity already knew what she was going to get and what would fit well. Seeing the future was like having a personal shopping list right in your mind sometimes.

Chae rolled her eyes visibly at the talk of how her new friend had enough money, raising a finger to waggle it at the woman once again, her haughty princess tone taking over, "No, no, no. You're bad with friends aren't you?" She asks the question despite her own inexperience with friendship, "When a friend offers to buy you a present, you say yes you'd like it and accept it with a smile. It's rude to say no. Even if you don't actually like it or want it!" Her hands were on her hips, and she spoke just a bit too loudly, drawing even more eyes onto the odd pair of women. Despite thinking it, she didn't actually include the 'especially if it's from me'. Another huff of displeasure as she looked the blonde over once, not even glancing at the nearby store until she'd gotten her fill of giving the pout-y glare of haughty indignation. Finally she grabbed both of Nity's hands, and walked backwards, pulling her into the store with her, completely ignoring the stares of staff and other customers alike as she did so. The store was utter perfection inside it, row after row of shirts and pants and skirts and even dresses. The outrageous prices didn't affect Chae in the least. Finally releasing the other woman's hands as they were firmly inside, she turned to the nearest rack and grabbed a white leather jacket off it. She then proceeded to walk back to Serenity, and place it at the woman's chest, trying to eyeball if it would fit. Seeming pleased with it, she held it out longer, the same princess-like tone that demanded to be listened to, "I think you look good in white. I also think you'd look good in this. And I'm like, ninety nine percent certain it will fit, but I have been wrong about that kind of thing." She tapped her chin a few times in thought then shrugged, "Like, twice. So you should totally go like, try it on first."The style was a bit.. punk, looking a bit thin but fashionable. It was of thin but fine material, and hung down a bit in the front as a collar, a fact that would ensure that at least a bit of skin would be shown under where their neck ended and their chest began, adjustable for how much of it would be shown, using a series of buttons along it. The zipper didn't go down the middle, instead zipping diagonally from the center to where the bottom of the left end of the 'collar'. It was priced 'only' in the six hundred dollar range. Sorina laughed outright at Serenity's predicament not allowed to even pay for her own clothes, this could have all be avoided if she had just informed the titans but no the seer had to go out on her own and prove she wasn't an invalid. This wasn't to say that the spirit thought the rainbow girl was titan worthy, no she though Chae was cannon fodder, but the situation her friend was stuck in was rather priceless. "I changed my mind, I'm glad you didn't tell Athena because I am never letting you forget this." Serenity closed her eyes in irritation and almost missed Chae grabbing her hands.
Luckily she didn't miss that occurrence and had braced herself for the irritation in her back. Being dragged along by someone shorter then herself was a rather new experience for the ghost whisperer seeing as she was usually the shortest person in the room.
How Chae managed to know from looking at her that most of what Serenity wore was white she would never know. The girl did have good taste picking out one of the few items that she would be walking out of here with. "It'll fit, I would normally play barbie but I'd rather not have to wash blood out of that before I've even bought it." She was not usually one to bow to her injuries but after popping her stitches twice she was not about to pull her back and pull them again. She would already have subtle scaring as it was.
Her gaze fell upon a farther row of clothes, "You'll have more luck for yourself on that rack." Sorina scoffed at the blonde's words, mostly she just thought she didn't want to linger on the fact that she was injured. Nope no weakness for Serenity allowed.
