AGE: 17
GENDER: Male
TEAM: Rider’s Deck
SIDE: Neutral
OCCUPATION: Thief
NATIONALITY: Irish, South Korean, ghost
HISTORY: Carlos McDougal was created by Kira Skylane, the Black Witch under request of the Silver Banshee. The Silver Banshee was unable to have kids of her own and Kira owed her a debt. Using magic, a part of the Silver Banshee’s soul was taken and infused with a boy recently born into the McDougal family, whose mother had died in child-birth. From that day on, Carlos lived his life Castle Broen, on an island somewhere in-between Scotland and Ireland. He lived under the care of Kira, who often spent time there studying magic. He was chosen to train under his uncle, Bevan, to become the next leader of his family’s clan. Kira, under the disguise as a care-taker, watched over him as he underwent ancient rituals to become the next leader. During one of the rituals, his powers and ghost-half manifested when he was twelve. His family didn’t react all that well. They locked him up, fearing he was possessed by a demon. He was locked away for around a year. When he was thirteen, it was then that Kira broke her disguise and used her magic to get him out, sending him to America. Why she did that, he still isn’t sure. He arrived in Gotham City where he met Jester and Sorceress, two villains trying to form a team. He joined with them and became Whisper, a founding member of Rider’s Deck. He journeyed with them from Gotham to Coalfield, gaining members along the way. When Coalfield was destroyed, he followed Jester, Sorceress, and Feral to Jump City. He stayed with the team as they made a truce with Young Justice and eventually became neutral. In Jump City, he met and started dating Jeremy Everett. All the while, he knew his powers were killing him. It pained him as he lived his life, getting closer to his friends and Jeremy, only to know he’d be yanked away from them some day. He died over a year ago, leaving his friends and boyfriend to unwillingly move on with their lives. Recently, he has been brought back to life miraculously with magic by a witch, a former follower of Kira. He is currently being held in a charmed container by Nebula and has adopted a new codename, Banshee.
FAMILY: The Silver Banshee (mother), Kira Skylane (mother), Raptor Skylane (younger half-brother), and Bevan (uncle).
PERSONALITY: Carlos is a shy boy, often keeping quiet even when around his friends. With strangers, he avoids eye contact and often remains in the background. With his friends, he’s a little more out-going and laughs a lot. He isn’t very self-confident, lacking self-esteem. He can be protective and good in a fight, however he doesn’t like fighting and prefers to avoid any type of conflict. He is often curious and adventurous, able to get himself into trouble rather easily. Though he doesn’t talk much, he is very opinionated. When he becomes comfortable around someone, he opens up more and talks a little bit more. In fights, though he doesn’t like them, he isn’t going to sit them out if his friends need him. Being brought back to life also did a toll on Carlos' mind. He's shown some symptoms often associated with schizophrenia. Shadows look like moving, demonic creatures to him, and he can hear voices whispering to him. Unknown to him, he can now see and hear spirits of the dead. He thinks he's going crazy. He snaps at voices that he doesn't think anyone else can hear and hides from people he doesn't think anyone else can see. He's started talking to himself and often goes into his own little world when he gets scared or frightened. After finding out he has a little half-brother, Carlos will be very protective over Raptor. He's always been babied and protected by Rider's Deck, but now he has someone to protect. His ex-boyfriend never really needed his protection, but he feels that Raptor does. Anyone who hurts Raptor should expect to actually piss off this ghost.
DISLIKES: feeling useless, being alone, being ignored, his friends getting hurt, feeling helpless, depression, boredom, how he looks.
DREAMS: nothing really.
FEARS: being alone for the rest of his life.
HOPES: to just be happy

making friends with shadows on my wall
BODY STRUCTURE: Carlos stands at about five feet and seven inches tall. He has short white hair, though he's become rather fond of dying it different colors. His eyes are a bright and brilliant blue color and his skin is very pale almost white. He is thin and slender in build, perhaps a bit too thin and thus resulting in his light weight.
STYLE: Carlos often dresses modest, covering himself up a lot. He doesn’t like the way he looks – mainly his pale skin – so he can often be seen wearing long-sleeves and pants, maybe even a hoodie, no matter what the temperature.
COSTUME: Banshee’s costume, like other members of Rider’s Deck, is compiled out of street clothing. He wears a black sleeve-less leather jacket without a hood zipped up on top of a white long-sleeve shirt. On his hands he wears black leather gloves. He also wears black pants that are form-fitting to his legs with white boots on over the ends of the pants and up to a little below his knees. Over his eyes, he wears a black domino mask.
ODDITIES: Carlos’ eyes are brighter than any others and his skin, no matter how many hours he could spend in the sun, is naturally pale as well as his skin is pale.
ABILITIES: Banshee has the ability of flight as well as density shifting, or phasing through solid objects. Like his mother, he has a wail that ages whoever he uses it on. The aging process is slow, but does work. If he only uses his powers on someone for a minute or two, the affects wear off and that person returns to their original age. As a founding member of Rider’s Deck, Carlos has gotten some training in combat and has a basic knowledge of it. Since coming back from the dead, Carlos has gained the ability to see and hear spirits of the dead, and it's been driving him crazy.
CONTROL: Flight/7, density shifting/8, banshee wail/3, seeing and hearing the dead/0
SIDE-AFFECTS: None.
WEAKNESSES: Any weapon can significantly harm Carlos, though he is capable of phasing through attacks. However, he is unable to phase through iron, for reasons that elude him. Salt also has a magical hold on him and can be used to trap him, if spread around him. The touch of salt burns his skin as well. Aside from that, if he is not phasing through, any attack and weapon can cause damage. Even when phasing, he is vulnerable to attacks such as electric shocks.

INTRODUCTION:
Coming back from the dead... it changed you, messed with your mind, and while he pretended it wasn't, Carlos' mind had been messed with, fogged and clouded, warped. A similar case could be found if one had the clearance and leverage to get their hands on the file of a man named Jason Todd. Until he was dumped in the Lazarus Pit, Jason Todd, a former Robin, had been made a madman from being thrust back into the world of the living. His case had been an extreme one - and while other cases of the dead returning hadn't resulted in madness, it wasn't rare.
Held by Nebula, Carlos McDougal, the son of the Silver Banshee who had been magically created by a woman that called herself the Black Witch, had been semi-sedated, curled in a ball, in and out of consciousness. Upon being rescued and returned to his friends, he'd started to awaken so-to-speak. His mind felt sick, his heart felt like it was still dead despite pumping blood through his veins. The first night back, he'd stayed in Harvey's arms, clinging onto him until he fell asleep. Since then, he'd hauled himself in his room, staring at the walls and ceiling, watching shadows form shapes. Several times, he'd caught himself mumbling, talking to himself, muttering over and over again. He'd curl in on himself and rock back and forth, eyes staring straight ahead.
One day, Ishi had come in to give him food, but he hadn't seen her. He'd thought he saw Jeremy, his boyfriend and he'd been happy. He had cried when he realized it was Ishi and screamed at her to leave. He'd only allow Raptor to come in. He didn't want to see Harvey, Jasmine, or Ishi. He didn't want to see anyone from Young Justice. He didn't know Raptor, though. He'd have him sit down on the edge of the bed and would talk to him, speaking his random thoughts - his mind darting from one topic to another within a matter of seconds. He used to have a better attention span.
Raptor was the Black Witch's son, though. He'd asked about Kira and when told she had passed away, repeated no over and over again, rocking back and forth and covering his ears with his hands. Kira had raised him. She'd been so powerful. She couldn't have been dead... But she was.
He'd grown to like Raptor. He was Kira's son, and Kira had been like a mother to him. His mind registered Raptor as a brother, and he found that he didn't mind Raptor using his old codename. But he scared Raptor. And he was scaring himself. He was fidgety, much more than he'd ever been before. He'd mumble to himself, even with Raptor there. He'd look at Raptor and see Jeremy sometimes, so he'd curl up into him and fall asleep in his arms. He'd cry when he woke up and didn't see his ex-boyfriend.
His mumblings lately had become incoherent. Even Raptor's enhanced hearing couldn't understand what he was saying. He didn't even know what he was saying. Gibberish. Nothing was making sense. Life wasn't making sense. He'd stare at the wall and see screaming faces. He'd be asleep and suddenly hear tortured voices. Lately, he woke up screaming, but not the scream of a human. Each time, it was his banshee wail that came out, piercing the ears of whoever heard it, and it echoed throughout the base. He was losing his touch with reality, and he knew there was nothing he could do about it.
