At first, Shift didn't think she'd heard Serenity right. And then, when her shocked brain translated all of the blonde's words into something she could comprehend - that her brother had met Serenity, apperantly at the Tower, and that she had talked to him. And that Nero hadn't called, and the precog had, for some reason, decided not to tell her about the whole event.

So it was understandable that the shape shifter was a little annoyed, and more than a little surprised. Athena stilled, then stopped moving altogether to stare at the blonde, honorary Titan who was helping clean her room. "You met my brother...And, what, forgot to mention it!?", gaped the superheroine from across the room. How in all nine circles of hell did Nero even know about her living here? And, at that, why had he decided to drop in, and then not call?

Serenity rolled her eyes and picked up what she thought might be a shirt, or had been a shirt some time in the past. "Well yes but apparently he decided not to call you," she said and tossed the shirt in the trashbag and turned back to the green teen in the room, "It was your personal life so I tried not to see it. I thought he'd call you that day to be honest." she said and stuck her head in Athena's closet and then quickly pulled back out of it, "Oh what the hell do you keep in there... wait please don't answer that... or plan to." she said realizing that even thinking about the answer might prompt her to think she might say it.[/size]

Shift frowned to herself as Serenity explained herself. The teenagers' thoughts turned to her older brother; it seemed a long stretch that he had forgotten about it, so maybe he'd just chickened out? She couldn't blame him for that, then - the two of them hadn't talked in nearly a year, and Athena couldn't help but think it was mostly her fault, though she blamed her brother for his fair share of their distance too. Sighing, Athena grimaced as Serenity opened her closet. "Sorry for yelling - I guess I was just...surprised. Thanks for not trying to pry, either."

"And, uh...I don't think I've looked in there since last Christmas. I heard growling.", Shift added, stepping over a pile of dirty clothes to look over Serenity's shoulder better. As nothing jumped out at either of them, the shape shifter assumed it was safe to venture inside and decided to do so later - like when she had room to run out into the hallway if need be.

Serenity nodded at Athena's words about her family, she understood not wanting to talk about your family, she didn't know who her father was and not many people had figured that out, "So why did you look in there last Christmas?" she asked trying to steer the conversation away from Athena's family, it was obvious she didn't want to talk so she wasn't going to pry[/size]

"I was trying to see if I could toss more junk in there.", came Athena's answer, as she moved a stack of books - these ones mostly clean, if a little worn-looking - from the floor to the top of her desk, where papers and folders lay littered on the surface. Yet another thing to straighten up; not as important as the floor, but still messy.

"You can keep anything you find, if it's something you want.", offered the shape shifter, flipping through one of said books; a thick one on animal behaviorisms.

Serenity nodded but didn't plan on taking anything from Athena, these were her positions and she wasn't planing on taking them. "Hey what's this?" she asked glancing at what she thought was a photo of Athena as a child, she didn't think Athena had been the type to have such things but she could have been mistaken.[/size]

Athena looked over, eyes alighting on the pictue. it was her, about eight years old or so - and very defineatly looking normal. She was a dark mocca color, instead of green, and had smooth, unfurry and not-yet-peirced skin. her hair was long in the picture as well - in cornrows, not cropped close to her head as it currently was. Her eyes were dark brown, and it was clear in the photograph that she was related to Nero; they had the same nose and chin.

"Oh, yeah - that old thing." Shift smiled slightly, running hand through her hair, then rubbing one arm; as if to remind herself that things had changed since that spring day. "I was about eight, I think. It's a school picture."

Serenity grinned at the thought of Athena at school, "School picture? I wasn't aware that you went to school." she said thoughtfully and Sorina looked over her shoulder, "Yeah it's a good picture." she said thoughtfully.[/size]

Shift looked a little surprised, before a smile spread across her peirced lips. "Of course I did. Well, before all of this happened when I was about twelve. After that it was homeschooling for me.", the superheroine said, gesturing to herself - green, furry, with that animal aura. Then the heroine shrugged, glancing sideways at Serenity. "Didn't you ever go to school?"

The shape shifter pondered her blonde freind. Sure, she was unusual, but maybe she hadn't always been like that. maybe she had been normal, too, once upon a time.

Serenity shook her head slightly, "Well I did go to school for a while but I was always looking into the future to what would be happening next. So I graduated high school early, like a few years ago..." she said and handed the picture to Athena, "Well and I was always getting answers from Spirits so I always had strait A's." she said jokingly. She had only graduated high school three years ago. Her mom had done it quicker than she had but her mom also didn't go to collage.

Serenity had decided to take a few online courses because she was to lazy to do much else.
