Why yes, I did steal Green's idea. I'm going to fill you guys in upon my characters and crucial reasons as to why that act that way, not to mention what they way they act is. There are some things that are difficult to portray through mere roleplaying, and a background story is required. I also want to tell you guys what buttons you either do or don't want to press for some people.
>> Take One. Vanessa "Nessa" Eleah Redbrick-Menagerie. Sniff. Although, her powers don't really have too much to do with scent, it's more of taste. Nessa can identify any liquid based upon its taste or smell. This has resulted in a very high tolerance for harmful liquids and toxins. She can identify a few solids, but only if she has come in contact with them. Gasses are way over her head, those are too difficult to isolate.
>> Gaps In Her Story. So I wrote in her character form that she used to live with people other than her parents. She's never met her parents, but she knows that her father had powers. Her aunt can do some similar things, but it's not quite the same. A couple of years ago, she left her home after convincing her aunt and uncle that she needed a way to help people by using her abilities. She talks to them sometimes over the phone or on-line, and she has considering going to visit home for the holidays.
Almost as soon as she arrived in Jump City, Nessa found herself in a small sort of gang. They were all teenagers who had powers. They weren't villains or heroes, they were just a bunch of kids trying to survive. They would occasionally get hired to help with certain things, and it was there that she hit roadblocks. The gang got involved with a strange sort of deal that involved false vaccines. As they began to discover what their jobs were for, the people they had been hired by began to grow more cautious. Those who had hired the group knew that eventually, their plans would probably get destroyed by a small clan of super-powered teenagers, and no amount of money could ensure stability. They began to send hired villains after the gang, professionals who had spent several years destroying people.
Three of the members were killed: a girl named Andrea, a boy named Styx, and the leader, a boy named Tommy. Tommy had been the one to take Nessa in, and they had continued to grow very close. He was somewhere between a brotherly figure to a crush, and when they had been attacked, he had sacrificed himself as a distraction so the others could flee. Most of the members fled without seeing Tommy's final moments, but Nessa had turned at the exact worst moment. She was crushed, and after all the group had been through, she fled the gang.
Nessa had been wandering alone for about six months when she began to draw the attention of the Titans. She had run into members a couple of times on their missions, and proven herself to be a sort of resource with her powers. It doesn't hurt that she always seems to be cheerful. She was welcomed without really having to prove herself too much, which is fine with her, since she hates to throw punches.
She won't admit that she's only helping them to make sure nobody has to go through what her gang did. She also won't admit that she's so cheerful to keep people from being suspicious.
>> Things To Watch For. Nessa is likely to eventually begin to fight, being a Titan. She'll probably go out on actual missions besides monitoring the city's safety system and alerting others as to what they need to get to and when. She will be reluctant, but eventually she will need to defend herself and be of actual use. She's not a fan of violence, but as her former gang being her source of motivation, she will fight one if it saves many. She's trying to become a stronger person, but her fear of repeating the past is too overwhelming for her to really give it her all.
Emotional break-downs will most likely get her to spill her guts about her entire past, seeing as she didn't really have a need to explain the gang to the Titans when she joined up. It wasn't like they didn't anything illegal and got caught, anyways. She has no problem talking about her early life, but anything about Jump City is off limits. If anybody she really cares about is kidnapped or goes into anything coma-like, Nessa will freak. It won't just be paranoia and stuff like that. It will be the bawling, barely able to remain stable, unable to talk sort of wigging out. She really, really doesn't want anything bad happening to her newly-found family. She also really, really doesn't want the Titans torn apart like her old group was.
Nessa has the potential to go all out, but that would require something extreme to provoke it. Like Tommy, Nessa would sacrifice herself if it meant that the Titans would all be saved. She hopes it never gets there, but if it were to, she would step in to ensure the safety of others. She really is a good person, she's just a bit of a coward when it comes to getting her feet too wet with danger.

>> Take Two.
Andrew Spencer Delacroix. Commonly referred to as Spencer. Magicman. Spencer is an illusionist. While his twin sister is a physical balance, Spencer is mental surrealism. He can conjure functions of the senses that don't really exist, masking sights, sounds, and creating new ones.
>> This Ever-Changing World.
While I talk about Nessa's past, Spencer is a bit different. His past is rather bland, and you can often pick up on that when he talks about things him and his sister used to do or the likes. You see, for Spencer's portion, I'd like to focus on his personality and perspective. Normally, my characters have rather defined lines that I stick to when I use them. However, some characters start in one place and instantly take on a new personality when I fling them into a setting. I don't know why, but Spencer has become one of those characters.
The Spencer you're supposed to see is almost like dealing with a preteen girl. He's catty. He's manipulative. He lies. He likes to spread drama. He forced himself to be an attention magnet. He's not really the type of guy that you want to spend all your time with, but, he can be a good friend. He's supposed to be ultra annoying to everybody besides his sister, and possibly a close friend or two. After all, they're twins and partners in crime. And to be his best friend, he has to trust you. To his sister, he's supposed to be obedient, supportive, everything a twin brother super-villain should be towards his sister. Except, when on the job, he's a bit of a klutz and tends to do things that get him in trouble. What can I say? He doesn't have Liam's sense of balance.
Now, though, he's a bit changed. Spencer is still a bit manipulative. He still does the wrong thing that gets him into tricky situations, that will never change. There have been some new developments. He's just a petty thief, I get that, but he's grown a sort of neutral side. From sneaking in to help Jazz, he's kind of placed himself in a situation that when confronted with a problem in a place he sees as value-neutral, he will be kind and polite. Not that he knew who Jazz was when he first wandered after her. And sure, he will toss in some snide remarks, but he won't steal from people or beat up Titans. He won't try to hurt people in churches or hospitals, he sees that as wrong.
Maybe him and his sister are getting too old for this super-villain deal? After all, they're nearing the top of their game. They could get away with many thefts of many large objects, and have. Maybe Spencer is getting too stressed out to handle being a carefree, reckless villain. I'm not entirely sure, all I know is that the catty teenager has developed into some sort of ethically-challenged super-powered thief. Even if I didn't mean for him to be, I actually would have preferred Liam's recklessness backfiring and her second-guessing herself.
>> Where Do We Go Now?
Spencer will remain faithfully by Liam's side and follow her in any decision. However, a few things could happen that could change the entire dynamic between their combined persona. If anything were to happen to Liam, if I were to get bored of her and kill her off, or she was to get angry at Spencer and abandon him, he'd be lost. There would be no direction to his life, as she's the one who makes several key decisions, and he's always seeking her seal of approval. He would probably wander around, doing stupid things to get arrested. Or, ironically, he would turn to the very people he steals from and defies: the Titans. The latter is highly unlikely, not when he's friends with villains.
If Liam becomes power-hungry and a total dictator, he will most likely turn against her. Liam's great, but she doesn't know her limits, and he's afraid of what that could do to her. He wouldn't become a hero, but he would give up being a villain with his sister if she sought world domination or intended to destroy the whole of Jump City. He would stop her, but he wouldn't go and file any sort of record with the police about what happened.
