The soft rays of the moon illuminated the dark blue waves below as they crashed onto the shore. Vivian was sitting on the edge of the dock, her feet hanging off the side and her hair blowing in the gentle wind. Her eyes were closed and her head tilted towards the moon allowing its silver rays to light up her face. She slowly opened her eyes and they seemed to glow.
She lazily looked down at the water and took in the sweet smell of the salty air. Vivian always came here before a full moon to clam and relax her before her harsh, painful change. She would be leaving the city in the next day or two to conceal herself in the woods. It was the only place where nobody would be in danger of her. She sighed and took her hoodie off, letting it fall her shoulders and onto the ground. The wind swirled around her and chilled her skin. She slowly smiled and looked back up to the moon.

A small creature, a few inches smaller than a cat, walked up behind the girl. It made a high clicking sound. It's light red scales shimmered in the moonlight and shined on her eyes. She watched Vivian for a moment before making another sound, waving it's tail and walking up beside her. "...Hi..." she said quietly.

Vivian had heard the creature walking up behind her, but paid no attention to it thinking it was a cat. Until it spoke. She jumped as she heard the voice and looked over at the creature and stared at it. She wasn't sure what it was, but she knew that any normal animal couldn't talk..........unless this wasn't a normal animal. She watched the creature carefully then finally said "Uh.........Hi?" She wasn't sure what to do and just sat there staring at the creature.

"Who are you? I'm Tian," she said. "I don't think I've seen you before...have I?" A cold wind blew past them. Tian quickly turned her head away, sneezing. A small burst of blame came out of her mouth. "Sorry...I'm a little cold..." she said. She sat and turned back into her semi-human self. "Why are you out here?" Her voice had changed back to normal also.

Vivian became a bit more relaxed and said "No, we haven't met. I'm Vivian." She watched Tian and chuckled as Tian sneezed, but once again became tense as Tian shifted to her semi-human form. "How many shifters am I going to meet?" she though and said "Well I'm just enjoying the night that's all." She looked back to the moon, but kept an I on Tian out of the corner of her eye. Tian didn't seem like someone who'd be a threat to Vivian, but she'd rather be safe than sorry. After a few moments another gust of wind blew around them and she said while handing Tian her hoodie".........Here you can use this if you're cold." Vivian wasn't sure if giving Tian her hoodie was the best thing to do, but it seemed like the right thing to do at the moment.

Tian turned away and sneezed again. "Thanks, but I'll be fine. I've been out on colder nights." She smiled slightly. She sighed and watched the clouds in the sky. "How long have you been out here?" she asked. Her ear twitched and she turned her head. A stray cat was walking past the buildings. It had a fish in it's mouth. "I'm surprised there's still so many fish around. I would've thought it was to cold."

Vivian shrugged and placed her hoodie back on the ground and said "I'm not really sure. I've just been out here since sundown, but I don't know what time it is now." She never really paid attention to the time of day or even the day of the month, she just tried to make it through every day. She sighed and said "Well actually the water is warmer than it is up here." Vivian looked over at Tian and wondered what she was exactly, obviously she was some sort of human/dragon, but was she an alien or some kind of experiment?

"It was after ten when I came out. I'm not sure what time it is now though..." She shrugged and watched the waves. She noticed Vivian looking at her and turned her head. "Something wrong?" she asked. She yawned, exposing her sharp fangs for a moment. She continued to watch the waves.

Vivian quickly looked away and said "No" She watched as Tian yawned, exposing her fangs, and she began to feel her own fangs starting to grow. She clenched her jaw and forced her fangs back then looked back up at the moon. She had a sudden urge to just start howling at the moon like she would do on nights like this, but that probably wasn't the best idea right now. She sighed and laid herself down on the ground, her right hand under her head and the other rested on her stomach. Vivian stared at the moon trying to decide how long it would be before the moon became full, but she kept making quick glances at Tian still wondering what she was.

Tian sighed. "So, how come i've never seen you?" she asked. She thought about it, looking up at the moon. "Looks like there's going to be a full moon soon," she commented. I should be heading back soon... she thought. (sorry about the small post)
