[Athena 'Shift' Logan]

Athena - or Shift, as most of Jump City and it's villians called her - usually trained and honed her skills. Aka, her shape shifting. As in she shape shifted and fought the course while doing so. But right then the green teenager was doing the course only in her human form. True, she was green and covered in a pelt, but that didn't make her veggie or house pet-material. It just made her stand out a bit. Or, rather, alot. But so did the Titan communicator strapped to her waist and the affinity she had for buying flea medicine as well as pads.

But right then, the peirced super-heroine was training, and trying to figure out her usual practise course not as a mongoose, weasel, lioness or raven would, but as a human would. It took a while for her not to automatically shape-shift - and she took some hits because of it, although she had known how to avoid them by becoming bigger, smaller, or more flexible. Athena's reason for her bruises, cuts and scrapes?

Well, what some of the villians were saying was sinking in, and making the Titan leader think. Not the parts about how they were oh-so-innocent or the parts about how the Titans were immoral/evil/general asses. Not so much, those parts. The parts about how the Titans all had the advantage over regular humans - their powers. Not all of the Titans had powers, but most of them did, and Athena still faintly remembered a time when she hadn't been able to re-arrange her body into that of any of a million animals. Back when her skin wasn't green - when she had skin, instead of fur - and when her ears weren't pointed (or peirced, although that is another story entirely).

But whatever she remembered, Athena had decided that she should be able to evade villianous attacks in her human form as well as any animals'. Then she would have something to throw in the faces of the villians when they spouted off about her team lording their powers over the civilian-populated town. Because then she would be able to beat up a bad guy without hearing the usual animal-related taunts, which she was getting fairly sick and tired of hearing - said taunts varying anywhere from PG to R, depending on the age and, usually, gender of the baddie.

Grunting, Athena tried to blink away the stars that had just exploded in her line of vision. She hadn't been quick or agile enough to evade a large mallet, which had slammed her into a wall with enough force to seriously bruise and knock the breath out of the super-heroine. Shift gasped for breath, blinking sluggishly. "How long has it been since someone did that to me?", she pondered aloud, when her breathing returned to normal. Rookie mistake; she could have shifted into a bug or bird and gotten out of the way.

About last week I think. You being a super and all, you gotta have a lot of fun." A girls voice came over, a bit higher than normal but not irritatingly so. When one would look over she was sitting crosslegged on the ground. Silver hair falling to her upper-mid-back, and green eyes flashed watching the performance.

She was short and oddly familiar. Her form was petite, with an average bust. Her skin was rather pale but not sickly so. And she was munching on something she held in her left hand, bringing to her mouth with her right. "I mean" she said, a little muffled from something in her mouth. "You fight other supers right?"

She wore a red shirt, a little loose but not baggy either. She wore short shorts as pants, and knee length boots. Leggings, which she wore under the shorts shown a few inches passed. While the smile on her face was plain. It really didn't show much other emotion.

Although Shift supposed she should have been used to Rena interrupting things at unfortunate moments in the place she now considered her home, Athena still nearly jumped out of her fur when the teleporters' voice met her pointed ears. The shape shifter might have actually jumped, if she hadn't been sprawled halfway across the wall and floor. In any case, Shift clampered up onto her feet, pressing a code into a panel in the wall to deactivate the training session.

"You know I do. I fight you.", Shift replied coldly; her usual tone when dealing with the murderous teleporter. "Now get out of my base or I'll have to call the rest of my team.", she threatened, trying to ignore the dull ache of bruises that had accumulated on her, which were starting to be felt by her fur covered body.

Bane Walker had been recently assigned to look out. Of course, he wasn't doing so well - he let most slip by him as he sat on the roof tops, playing his Gameboy as if his life depended on it. He would hush the people who tried to talk to him, shooing them away before they made him die. He had over thirty nine lives left, and he was hoping Mario would last that long.

Of course, he grew distracted by the growling in his stomach for food - he tried to hush that too. It didn't help with all the Shhhh! and the waving of his hands. So, he got to his feet and yawned, stretched, and cracked a few joints before going down to the kitchen and getting a slice of meatlovers pizza - the first time he had ordered a pizza since a month. It was marked Bane in the worst handwritting anyone could ever do, looking more like a doodle of a cow then handwritting. He chuckled softly as he munched on the largest slice, slapping a fe whands away from his pizza. Ravenstar grew sad at that and floated slowly away, head hanging low. He pursed his lips like a wolf with his chunk of meat and mad ehis way through the halls and downstairs.

He hadn't heard anything much from Athena, until another voice had came and he began to move quicker. He was certainly able to control the wolf much better since the night on the rooftops with Athena - of course, that was many monthes ago. He had his episodes every now and then, though normally humans or titans never got involved.

when he made his way into the training room, he watched with careful eyes, as the green titan and some other person loomed about, eating something too. "Hey!" He growled deeply. "Better not be eating my pizza..."

Now Now, Shift. I thought you'd be happy to see me" Rena said hopping down to land in front of her, holding her hand out to offer some of the coconut shavings in her hands. "I mean, me and you haven't really been hanging out y'know" she said. And then Bane entered.

And she took to light on this, seeing it as a way to get to know this angry little boy some more. "And if I am?" She asked closing her hand so he wouldn't see the coconut shavings, and rounded about in him, coming to his face. "What I did eat your pizza?"

Shift knew her face was probably scrunched up, the way it always got when she was confused and semi-annoyed. 'What the hell...?', she wondered, looking from Bane - who had wandered in, jabbering about pizza and looking a little peeved. The Titan leader wasn't sure she wanted to know what he had been doing or thinking, but she knew had better have been on watchout like he was supposed to have been.

And then there was Rena, doing what the long haired villainess did best - causing confusion, chaos and just generally spreading trouble. Athena sighed quietly. Why did she even bother trying to kick Rena out? It seemed her teammates always took an interest in the usually black haired killer. And although she didn't like it, Athena couldn't fault her teammates; she had been freinds with Rena once, too.

Normally when one walks into Bane's personal space, he wasspazz and most likely tear one's head off and use it as a soccer ball. Perhaps even beach ball. Yet he remained calm, chewing on his piece of pizza as he looked at the tiny puff princess that tried oh so hard to be oh so tough. he snorted, gagged, nearly choking on his pizza, before clearing his throat.

"Well..." he began. "I'd get mad, tear your head off, and most likely use it as a soccer ball or a beach ball." He nodded, coutning on his fingers the multiple ways of how he was defend his pizza. The wolf inside let out a growl in his ear, and he scratched it and continued to eat.

OK Just wondering" She said twisting and moved out of his arm's reach. "What I came here today, boys and girls" she said, pulling a showmanship type act, spreading both her hands in the air. "Was to give Shift a warning." She dropped her act to look at Shift, rather than in between the two titans. "You've got only a limited time before I push the big red button" She said, in her right hand she turned her palm out, showing the trigger switch to detonate the bombs around the police department.

She opened her palm out to show the second button, one with a blue button. "As you remember, pushing this button will result in the de-activation of the bombs. Or you could kill me, as my heart stopping will have the same effect as pushing this button."

Serenity was taking a nice long stroll through the tower rooms. She knew where she would turn up and was looking forward to meeting a new Titan. She hadn't had that much contact with Bane and was hoping to change that.

Sorina had no idea where she was, all she knew is that Serenity knew where she was going and that made it much easier to just follow her around. A lot easier.

Serenity skipped into the training room waving happily to everyone in the room, "Hey Shift Rena, Bane, or would you like me to call you Wolfsbane? I don't care either way but some people really do." she said with a shrug of her shoulder.

Sorina squawked in shock as she spotted Blacklist in the Titans tower, "Oh my goodness that's Blacklist! She's the one who is causing all the trouble that we're having to deal with at the moment." she said as Serenity was going on about Bane's preferred name. "SERENITY SWANSON ARE YOU LISTENING TO ME?!" she yelled in the blonde's ear.

Serenity flinched at the sound of Sorina's voice, "WOULD YOU KEEP IT DOWN YOU STUPID BALL OF FEATHERS!" she said irritably. "YOU JUST BROKE MY EARDRUMS!" she exaggerated, but it got the dove to be quiet. Then she turned to the other three in the room, "Sorry Sorina really doesn't like it when I see villains coming and forget to tell her." she said with a glare at the dove floating beside her.[/size]

"I don't like it that much, either.", added Athena, shooting an annoyed look at the blonde, occasionally air-headed pre-cog. It was great to have her as an honorary Titan, but it would have been nice if she told someone if something was important or not on occasion. Of course, what Serenity considered important, as Shift saw it, was pretty much the end of the world. Otherwise, you were out of luck unless you asked the girl yourself.

Then Rena turned her attention to Rena, eyes flickering between the sunglass-wearing villianess and Bane, hoping her wolven teammate got the connection; attack! "Why don't you just give up, Blacklist? With us and the cops all looking for your bombs, it'll only be a matter of time.", stated the confident shape-shifter. A part of her was betting on the whole thing merely being a scam to get every all worked up on behalf of a bored Rena, but a bigger part was telling her that it would be so much worse if she was actually telling the truth.
