Alone in the rain

Serenity smiled at Vivian, "Yes but that doesn't change the fact that your different now." she said thoughtfully and followed Vivian's future without actually looking at her. She rolled her eyes slightly at the twinge from her forehead which was the maroon symbol appearing on her forehead. She knew she wasn't ever going to change the fact that it burned slightly every time she used her powers but she had grown used to it.

She smiled as she felt a dove land on her arm while she glanced at the picture again. She pulled out a tissue and placed it next to the picture and began stroking the dove who was cooing in her arms, "So Sorina..." she started and glanced down at the white dove who she had thought was her spirit friend and glanced over the room to the dove she was looking for, "That was weird." she said with a roll of her eyes and helped the dove take off as she went toward Vivian, "So that was fast." she said trying to make conversation.[/size]

Vivian shrugged and said "Yeah I guess it doesn't." She looked down to the white dove and gentle stoked it's back and sighed, leaning her head back and closing her eyes. She stayed like that for a bit when a suddenly clang echoed through the room. Vivian's eyes shot open and she was standing in less than a second. Her guitar had fallen from it's stand and Vivian quickly went over to it and gingerly picked it up. She slowly examined the guitar searching for any sign of damage, it seemed to be just fine until Vivian spotted a small dent on the side. She cursed under her breath and ran her hand over the dent. It wasn't really that bad, but Vivian preferred her instruments without dents or scratches. She slowly shook her head and said to no one "Well......I guess it isn't that bad." She ran her hand over every string, bring them to life as they gently hummed. Then Vivian began to play a segment of a song, but stopped halfway and placed the guitar back on its stand. She looked down at the case on the floor and decided to kneel down to the ground and opened the case. Inside was a red stained violin that shined in the light. Vivian lifted it out of its case and placed i onto the empty stand, then pulled out the bow and placed it on a hook beside the violin.

(Btw did you know I really do play the violin? And I play piano too, but I'm not that good yet. Not that you care, but now you know lol)

Serenity smiled as soon as the instrument had caught her attention, of course it happened to catch her attention quite rapidly but that didn't matter. "You know you play really really well." she said with a smile. "Most people won't be able to tell that there's a scratch on it." she said with a smile.[/size]

Vivian smiled and said "Yeah well I'm obviously not like other people, and Thanks" She then plucked each string on the violin. The notes echoed off each string and it brought a smile to Vivian's face until she plucked the last string, which was way out of tune. She picked up the violin and twisted one of the knobs at the top. She tilted her head towards the violin and carefully listened as the pitch got higher and lower repeatedly.

Then she began to turn the small knobs at the bottom as she fine-tuned it. Finally, the string emitted the right pitch and Vivian went over the strings one last time. She looked back at Serenity with a smile and said "Want to hear a song?" Vivian had been working on a new song and really just wanted to show off, considering she never had anyone to watch. She picked up the bow and placed the violin on her shoulder and started to play "My Heart Will Go On" by Celine Dion. Her fingers glided over the strings as they sweetly sang their notes.

Serenity smiled at the other girl, "Wow your good." she said stroking the two white doves in her arms. "You know I can't tell which one is you right." she joked pretending not to notice the aurora of death around her favorite spirit.

"So did you want to stay here or go to Matty's place?" she asked with a smile realizing that the other girl had everything here that she really needed.[/size]

Vivian smirked and placed the violin down on the stand "Well you know when you've been playing for ten years you're bound to be good." She slowly walked over to Serenity and said "Well......to be honest it would be nice to actually sleep in a bed instead of that old thing." Vivian nodded her head towards the couch and continued "If you don't mind." She softly whistled and the white dove flew over onto her shoulder and began to playfully peck at her ear.

She quietly laughed and stroked the bird. She walked backwards to one of the corners and said to the dove "So how are the eggs Nala?" Then, as if the bird understood her, flew off to the corner to a small nest that rested over the blue couch. Vivian smiled and climbed onto the couch, peering into the nest. Inside were five small doves with their eyes still closed shut. Vivian instantly smiled and called to Serenity "You've got to see this. Hurry up and get over here." She had actually hoped to see the chicks hatch, but at least she was still able to see them.

Serenity smiled and walked next to Vivian but not close enough to get in the dove's way she was watching Nala's future so as not to get in their way, "Nala their beautiful." she said with a smile as she watched the egg begin to crack for a second time. "And Sorina agrees with me." she said with a smile as Sorina just flew into the nest and watched as Nala hopped through her to help her chicks. "They're so cute." the dead dove said with a smile.

Serenity just smiled at the dove, "Yes they are.[/size]

Vivian smiled at Serenity and quietly counted each chick. There were five chicks, but Vivian looked at them with a confused look. She counted them over and over again and mumbled to herself 'Weren't there six eggs?" Nala looked up at Vivian then turned her head to look at an egg that was pushed to the side. Vivian looked at Nala then back to the egg and gently touched the egg. The egg was cold and didn't move at all.

Vivian sighed and carefully picked it up and Nala went back to tend to her chicks. Vivian stepped down from the couch and looked at the egg in her hand. She shrugged and said "Well it happens." She went over to the table and placed the egg in the middle then looked over at one of the doves that had small spots on his neck. "Aren't you suppose to be over there helping Specks?" Vivian asked the dove and he instantly flew off to the nest.

Serenity smiled sadly at Vivian and Nala, "Don't let it get you all down though," she said taking the egg from Vivian. Specks flew over to his mate they were very well matched for each other, "Well he knows his priorities. She smiled at the show of life from the small family of doves and glanced around the room wondering what Vivian would need if she was going to move into Mathew's place.

Sorina flew out of the nest and a chick jumped right through her as she did. She didn't even wince anymore as the physical world and the world of the dead mixed with each other she was used to it, "The blood, and the medical supplies." she said as she tried to see through the many ghosts in the basement.[/size]

Vivian looked back at Serenity and said "Yeah I know. It happens all the time in life, but still....." She didn't finish the sentence, but walked over to the small fridge and opened it. Inside there were Ziplock bags filled with blood and pieces of tape on them with names written on them and on the side shelf there were cans of soda. "I forgot to ask you earlier, but did you want something to drink? I've got Pepsi, Sprite, Dr. Pepper, and...... I think I have some Root Beer here somewhere." She continued to rummage through the fridge looking for that can of Root Beer, which she had forgot she had drunken earlier that day.
