Music played loudly inside the Titan Tower within a room down the corridor to the left, where the brightly painted doors of pink stand. And inside moved an alien, known as Ravenstar and also as Voltor’mak. She kicked long, silver-and-black covered legs high in the air, showing off her horrid abilities of whatever dance the alien was trying oh so hard to complete and understand. Thick strands of black bounced as the alien kicked and tapped and spun upon the carpeted floor, who clapped and cheered. She was all smiles, happy and joyous of her newfound excitement.
Such beauty and grace.
Arms swung in the air, hair flowing over her shoulders and like a thousand tendrils hung around her. The rank smell of rotting blueberries and cheese was almost overwhelming for anyone who entered Voltor’mak’s room, yet she had hardly taken notice of it. Few ragdolls lay scattered about on the floor from her hands and feet and knees and elbows from her usual exercise of awkward dancing. The room was small, piled with dolls and books.
Ravenstar had not taken notice of a visitor.
When Wyer’mak had ventured into her younger twin’s room, she had taken quick notice of the smell, yet made no notice of it. Of course, she knew her sister well. Though now, the alien was uncertain. The Tower was almost like the young twin’s home, and since the team was like her new family, Ravenstar had kept herself within the place quite often, and talked and gossiped and danced.
She was a short girl, lean yet beautiful, smart, and charming. Her mane was shaggy and black, like Emberstar’s, though lacked in shine. Few colors were stained within the alien’s bangs, which caused a reaction of arched brows and scrunched nose. Her hair reached past her shoulders, nearly past her blades. Her uniform of leather, silvery and blacker then ever, shone brightly as her mini strobe lights danced with her.
Though Vultrixians were normally songwriters and warriors, Ravenstar had seemed to lose her true self living in this terrible place called Earth. It was almost sickening to Wyer’mak. She leaned carefully against the wall besides the rectangular bed, her arms crossed over her chest, hair, long and shiny, falling over her shoulders as she watched her younger sister throw herself about in her room like a crazed man. She kept her lips pursed, her nose flared. She held back her laughter. She didn’t want the younger one to see her.
Not yet.

Shift had decided that, although Ravenstar was an alien, she had been on Earth long enough that Voltr'mak should know that bubbly pop music made the Titan leaders' ears bleed. (Not literally, of course - usually - but the tomboyish teenager disliked the sickeningly sweet shreiking with a passion that almost matched that of her dislike for eating meat or doing romantic things with boys.) Which would explain why the green and furry teenager of seventeen years was knocking loudly on her long haired freinds' door, peircing glittering as they caught the hallway lights' reflection in them.
"Ravenstar! Will you turn that crap down?", hollered the shape shifter, nearly pressed against her teammates' door. She knew nothing of Emberstar, not even that she existed. Ravenstar usually didn't talk about her home planet - at least, not to her - and hadn't ever mentioned a twin sister. Impatient and wanting to listen to her own music in peace (currently a band that raged against gushy things like love at first sight and gooey, lovey-dovey couples) the Titan hollered her crush's name again. "Ravenstar!"

“Ravenstar!”
Wyer’mak’s ears had nearly twitched like a dog when she heard the cry of another female, and the thumping of fists on the door. She tilted her head, now rolling towards the door as she stepped forth, her feet tapping soundlessly against the carpet. The music continued to pound through the room, vibrating the walls as the alien sang horribly to the music. Emberstar had reached the door, placing a soft, pale hand against the wooden thing and it opened, revealing the green haired girl. Wyer’mak’s eyes flashed warily. She was tired. And she wanted to speak to her sister alone.
Ravenstar had stopped the music at this point, seeing the familiar sheen of the maroon-and-lack leather that stuck tight to her sister’s hour-glass figure. Her eyes were wide, the crimson brighter. She was excited. She was happy. She was everything. Upset. Disgraced. She had danced before the princess. No, the Queen of Vultrixia. Or what was left of the Jupiter-like planet. Her cheeks were redder then her eyes at this point as she lowered her head towards the floor as she hung her shoulders in shame.
Emberstar had taken a quick sideways glance towards her sister before back towards the green-haired girl. Her lips remained still, before parting to speak. “Hello.” Her voice was cold, almost rigid. Though highly feminine in a deep, mysterious tone. She was beautiful; almost god-like. Though Ravenstar’s beauty seemed to almost radiate like a star. Wyer’mak was taller. Leaner. Stronger. Her powers were unmatchable by even her own father. Or so she thought. Stubborn and untrustworthy was she.
Yet no one seemed to notice.
“Little sister.” She spoke, looking still at the green-haired girl.

All of Athena's annoyance and most of her directness seemed to vanish as Emberstar opened the door. Meeting the taller alien's eyes, the shape shifter felt words stick in her throat, hands falling to her side as she got a good look at the new interloper of her teammates' kith and kin. She looked very, very much like Ravenstar, but with subtle differences - she was a little taller, for one thing, although both of the striking off-worlders' were taller than the momentarily mute shape shifter. Emberstar was a little skinnier as well - less muscle, Athena guessed. Confusion was plain on Shifts' peirced face, and only vanished when she spotted Ravenstar in the center of the room and deduced that it wasn't her teammate who had given such an uncharacteristiclly cold greeting.
"Uh." Athena could see Ravenstar behind her cold-eyed twin, looking tense and embarresed, which was defineatly something that the Teen Titan had never seen before. Ravenstar was nothing if not vibrantly unique - sometimes gratingly so. Assuming that this new, sad red flush across her teammates' face was because of Emberstar, Shift took an immediate dislike to her, which made her insides do funny things, as the two looked so alike it was only Ravenstar in the background that helped the pointy-eared Titan tell the twins apart, and that only because she knew the bubbly alien like the back of her hand.
"Who are you?", Athena demanded, her tongue becoming untied as she noticed all of this, and the determined, clearly unwelcoming lack of warmth in Emberstars' large eyes. 'They look so much the same!', thought the Titan to herself, after her brain had processed it. 'Are they sisters - or maybe clones?' To anyone else, this might have been a stretch. For the Titans of Jump City, it was a valid question.

“Who am I?” Emberstar asked, leaning with an arm hooked as her elbow touched the wooden panel of the door. Her ankle soon hooked around the other, while a hand was placed against her hip. She would have continued glaring, snarling almost, if Ravenstar had not stepped forward, cheeks now pinkish.
“Emberstar…” Her voice was a gasp. “I thought… You were dead.” She squeaked lightly, looking up at the taller alien as she tilted her head lightly. Voltor’mak had not seen her sister in ages. It had felt almost to… Long. Yet Emberstar had not seemed to care. She was still a little angry in her expression, though her brows relaxed and her lips now plump like usual. She brushed a hand through her sister’s hair, moving the multi-colored bangs from her forehead. The mark was darker then normal, hidden beneath her hair. She was disappointed. Though only slightly. She, too, hid her marking. For good cause, of course.
“What have they done to you…?” Wyer’mak’s tone was less of a question. She knew what they did. They had changed her. Her culture. Looks. Everything was different. “Luckily your clothing is all the same.” She flicked her crimson gaze over towards the green-furred Titan as she moved, slipping past her. Her hair was longer, if not straighter, then her younger twin, her eyes more almond in shape. Her body was thicker in muscle, her form more full-figured then most of her planet. It seemed to be almost normal upon Earth.
Ravenstar followed her into the living room at her side, talking, questioning. “What had happened to father? Mother?”
“Died. Both. Horrible, really.” She said, sliding upon the couch. “Come, sit. Let me look at you better.” She invited with outstretched hands and a smile.

Astounded, Shift could only follow the duo in a daze, staying a few feet behind them. Something threw her off about - what had Ravenstar called her, Emberstar? - Emberstar. Perhaps it was the way she carried herself; aloof, above and seperate from others on the green and blue planet. Or maybe it was her tone and flippant way the older alien talked of she and Ravenstars' parents' death that rubbed her fur the wrong way. She was distinctly not the Titan Athena had grown to secretly love, but a chill settled over her heart when the shifter noticed just how eeriely alike the two looked. 'Would I be able to tell the difference with only one of them in front of me?', she wondered bleakely, a dull anger rising in the pit of her stomach as Emberstar boldly wandered through the Tower without so much as answering her question.
her head and then the rest of her body turned as Emberstar talked of she and Ravenstars' parents death. A pitying sadness welled up in the shape shifter, and she moved forward to put a comforting hand on her taller freinds' shoulder. It wasn't much, but it was as much as she felt comfortable doing, with a stranger feet away and watching like a hunting hawk. Even that small touch made her heart trip a beat, and she squeezed ravenstars' shoulder lightly, ignoring Emberstar and the anger she felt to the brisque, rude intruder in leiu of wanting to comfort a freind. Emberstar had cased the green-furred Titan a wary lance as her sister sat down, patting both her sister’s thigh and the green hand that rested on her shoulder. She hated most. She despised most. Including her duplicate. Ravenstar was supposedly better then her. More beautiful. More talented. Certainly not in the choreography of war. She could handle the truth ever since she was a small child! Emberstar refused to allow herself to become some weak, luminous creature like her twin. She nearly dug her fingernails into her sister’s hand before her grip released and her eyes reverted towards her sister, who looked quite uncertain at her.
“Sister, are you alright?” She asked, her brow arched. Her lips pursed together before Ravenstar had removed herself from the couch and towards Athena. “Do you think she is ill?”
Ill?
Emberstar’s eyes had nearly widened before her head shot up at her sister, smiling. She couldn’t make Ravenstar worried. It would ruin the fun of it all. She tossed a sheet of black hair from her shoulder and stood, smoothing down her maroon-and-black uniform, much like Ravenstar’s, and moved quickly towards the door. “I’m fine, sister. No worries. I was wondering, though…” She asked, tapping a thin finger to her lips. “What if we go to the carnival, then, huh? I heard of the Ferris Wheel and I must try it out!”
Ravenstar had nodded, smiling widely as she looked from her sister, to Athena, and back again. “I would love too! Shift, come with us!”

"Of course I will, Ravenstar." Athena smiled, and wondered if every Voltrixian was like the ones she met; leaping form one subject to the next while their emotions darted this way and that almost as fast as the subject at had was being thron around. From death to a festival - it might not be worth the migraine she would get to try and figure that leap of logic out, the shape shifter told herself forlornly. brushing away those thoughts, determined to go along with whatever ploy she suspected Emberstar had cooked up, the Titan leader nodded to Ravenstars' energetic question.
Only later would her heat do a double-time drum solo as her mind caught up and decided that that was about as close as she would get to Ravenstar asking her on a date. But for then, Athena smiled and nodded and cast a quick, calculating look at Emberstar as a thought entered her head. Was this the alien that Rena had gotten on the commuicator, the visitor from an adnaced, militant planet? There was a great possibility, but Shift knew of no way to find out except direct questioning.
Which is what she decided to do, her hand sliding from Ravenstars' shoulder back down to her own side, gaze moving from the younger twin to the older reluctantly but directly. "So - Emberstar, right? What brings you here - certianly not just a Ferris Wheel and bad news.", Athena asked, a hint of mocking coldness in her voice. Two could play at 'tough girl', if that was how Emberstar wanted to do things.

Serenity leaned against the door just as Athena was opening her mouth to reply. It didn't really matter if she listened to the conversation this time around as she had been listening to it on the way there, "So is that her?" Sorina asked Serenity both sets of eyes looking the girls over to find differences between the two twins and obviously the freaked out Athena.
Serenity nodded her long hair bouncing against her back but not falling in her face as she was using her new hair clip to keep it out of her face, "Well If I had to guess," she began and the white dove on her shoulder snorted at the comment of her guessing and Serenity glared at her before glancing back at the other three, "I would guess that it had to do with her twin," she said looking the other two up and down. They really were hard to tell apart, the only way she could tell the difference was by searching the future to see who was who. She wished she wasn't so clueless in that department.
Sorina finished the thought that Serenity didn't voice, "Yeah and revenge." she said her black eyes not leaving the twins. They were a threat and that wasn't acceptable.

Ravenstar had clapped her hands together. She was excited. She had been only once to the carnival. It seemed an exciting thought. She jumped upon her feet skipping out the front doors. Her locks of black bounced behind her as she moved, before leaping off the rocks and into the sky. She would wait for them at the entrance of the place. It was, luckily, free. Oh, how exciting – her sister and she would share such a fun adventure at such an exciting place! She almost couldn’t hold her excite as she hovered above the buildings.
Had not a newcomer waltzed into the room, Wyer’mak would have most likely brutalized the green-furred Titan. Not because of what she said. No, but how she seemed. How she acted. The black haired girl read the green-furred one like a novel, and she sensed something between her and Ravenstar. She wouldn’t touch her. She wouldn’t last long anymore. Her gaze, though deadly, shot towards the blonde haired one. She snorted, folding her arms over her chest and nodded, casting a sideways glance towards the green Titan.
“I am. And you must be the infamous Athena Logan, I take. The Beast of Jump.” She retorted coldly, her voice now venom. She was almost cobra-like in words, viper-like in tongue. “I take it you’re the one everyone talks about. The one who shifts into all these animals, hm? Well, I can assure you, little hero, that if you don’t make it as a Super anymore, you can certainly join the circus. Maybe the people might love you more.” She shrugged, turning towards the door as she flipped her long hair from her shoulder and behind her. The long strands draped her back as she moved, hips swaying lightly.
If the green Titan wanted to play, then so would she.
