He chuckled at his own randomness. "Thats right: nom! You get it." he had no Idea what he was talking about as he continued to rub his belly. "Thanks for the eats, miss heroine. No pun intended. I needed that. So... whats up with you? Hows life?" he always asked 'hows life' instead of 'how have you been' because it was a bit more original and sparked better, honest, elaborate anwers.

Serenity rolled her eyes for effect as he elaborated on his "sound effects" as he ate. Leave it to him to sound like an every day thing to make cartoon like noises when you ate. He just had a way of making her smile that anyone she had met could, alive or dead.
"What's up with me?" she clarified for a moment to gather her thoughts. She used that second to thread together what she wanted to say as she had been making a fool out of herself a lot tonight, "Well I'm nearing the end of my term in collage and my professor has decided he wants an essay from us." the blond psychic said with a sigh, "I was planning on doing my essay on what people think of the dead and what the dead think of them actually." she said with a smile.
She slowly began twirling her rice around in a circle before putting it in her mouth, "How 'bout you?" she asked glancing at his sides again knowing that it only barely covered the fact that his ribs were showing through with great contrast to what a properly nourished human looked like, and cursed at herself for not catching that sooner.

Mathew felt his jaw drop, thankfully, he had swallowed first or food would be everywhere. "You're in college?!?!?!" He hadn't even gotten the chance to finish high school. He had many questions but thought he should answer hers first. "Well I was told I could get a job working at Tobi's Garage no questions asked, to fix the parts, you know. Im not sure if I can take that risk any more. I was thinking that maybe I could make like TVs and stuff then have someont sell to the pawnshop on on eBay or something; I could get some money that way." In an attempt to get at least one of his questions answered he asked "Aren't you a little young for college?"

Serenity rolled her eyes at his exclamation, sure she was in collage but she was sure that she had told him she had been working on her thesis... or maybe not... "Well I can tell what people are going to teach before they do so as soon as I realized that and such I just took the exit exams, they weren't that hard, but I also knew what the right answers were..." she trailed off for a moment and glanced up at him.
She wanted him to stay away from drugs and the world that he had become emerged in. Not that she would try to change the way he lived his life but she would support any attempts to change his profession, "Well that's great why don't you take that job. It sounds much better than studying psychology anyway." she joked lightly and brushed her hair out of her face yet again.

Mathew HAD been considering taking the risk of a real job, but now he couldn't for obvious reasons. "I wish I could. But that would totally give away my whereabouts. I'll have to wait til the heat dies down again." The last incident where they had met in the roundhouse resulted in being chased down by government spooks. He was impressed with her diligence and perseverence in school, having learned beforehand what she needed to know. "Wow, so you're like a sociology and psychology major, huh?" He really wished that he could get a degree and pursue a decent carreer, but that was one of the problems with his situation.

Serenity let a smile slip onto her face at the questions about her schooling, "Oh and yeah I actually Major in Psychology and minor in Criminology." she said with a shrug like it wasn't any big deal, and to her it really wasn't.
Although while she had been talking she had also been thinking of what to say about Mathew's obvious problem with the FBI. That wasn't quite as easy, unbeknown to most supers the feds did attempt to keep track of which humans had super powers. She wasn't on the list as her powers had to do with sight and she avoided the optometrist, and most brain scans for that matter. She wasn't exactly careful with who saw her powers but she wasn't stupid when it came to easy ways to avoid a confrontation. "Hey would you be able to make a fake passport and papers if you had a copy of them?" she asked after a moment.

Mathew sighed and his eyes looked to his right. It would be nice for him to get out of the country but that wasn't going to happen legally. "No, I'd like to live in Canada if I ever get out of this mess. If I had the skill to duplicate documents and get all the marks exactly right, I would totally be making a passport right now." The details and all the little marks and the ink really made it just about impossible for him. He would have a better chance of making a passing passport with construction paper, scissors, and a pen.

((WOOT Go CANADA!!!! *is Canadian*)) Serenity sighed and glanced down at her still half eaten food, and most likely remaining half eaten food. "Yeah they purposely make them difficult to recreate." she said with a sigh. She really wished that Mathew could be free of all of the things life put him through on a daily basis. But there wasn't much she could do.
Finding that that comment would lead to them probably staring at their food for a while, or she thought so anyway, she decided to change it, "What's Canada like anyway?" she asked with a small smile. She hadn't been anywhere for very long as she had always lived in Jump City and had grown up with the spirits around her.

"erm... I've never actually been to Canada, but it was either that or Mexico. Canada is closer, and... well, its portrayed alot better through the media." Mathew turned the scraps of food on his plate into sand, which as he got up, he dumped in the trash can. This was a lot easier than washing them. He turned the now bowl back into a plate and stacked it in the cupboard. When he sat back down, he eyed Serenity's unfinished food though his hunger had been satisfied. "Not to mention, I hated spanish class"

Serenity chuckled and finished her rice quickly, "I took Greek." she said with a smile and put her chopsticks down on the table and passed her now finished plate to Matty to do whatever he did to his to hers, she didn't know exactly what he had done to his plate but it was really cool. "Yeah Canada has always been thought of as a nicer place to be," she said thoughtfully, "Probably because it has healthcare." she said with a shrug.
