"I don't know, but not as long as elmer fudd or the governator." he said offhandledly as an immature giggle escaped him. "So, seeing as they have clairvoyance its only fair that your helping me, huh?" Mathew was still hungry though his plate had been finished. He reached for the beef chop suey, but manners didn't excape him this time. "your finished with the beef right?" his smile grew into a wild grin as he held back laughter.

Serenity smiled at Matt and rolled her eyes at what he was implying, "Sure." she said with a smile. She was enjoying the rice, "Just give me a few minutes with the rice please." she joked. "And I would have helped you anyway." she said with a soft smile all the laughter had left her face and an aurora of honesty had replaced it.[/size]

"I know, you're a good person. You help those who can't help themselves. Hmm... that sounds like the exact definition of a hero. You're my hero, Serenity." He said it though he were joking, but it was the realization of a truth. He smiled at her for a second, then continued eating.

Serenity caught his gaze for a second before glancing back down at her rice, she was lost for words, completely and utterly speechless, that didn't happen often, "Um..." she said awkwardly. And this was the second time in one night that she was lost for words. That didn't happen very often.[/size]

Mathew looked up from his food to see her just sitting there staring at her food. Concerned Mathew asked "Is something wrong?......you haven't touched your rice and-" Mathew paused to remove a dread that had somehow found its way into the right corner of his mouth. "you're acting...weird. But then... is anything ever right?" He pushed his fugitive dread behind his ear and looked down and to the right in his concern.

Serenity glanced back up at him with a small smile, why did he have the ability to read her like a book... or was she just being that obvious? She really needed to work on that, "Well I thought you were going to die tonight, that work?" she asked then added a frustrated sigh as she realized what she had said and what she had meant, she glanced down at the rice she had yet to eat and forced some into her mouth. She wouldn't have even admitted it to Sorina but she probably would have done anything to keep him alive. She glanced up at Mathew again. "Wasn't a good night." she said her eyes betraying the fear that she had felt that night.[/size]

Mathew sat silently as her words sunk in and cut away viciously at his concience like invisible swords. trying to lighten the mood he responded "I was pretty sure I was a sea monster with tentacles for hair." though, what he meant was, 'Im sorry i scared you'. "well Im safe now, and a bit wiser for it."

Serenity glanced up at Mathew her emerald eyes scanning his face quickly, "Well that sea monster better avoid pirates." she said although her emerald eyes clearly said, 'Thank you, your forgiven' then she glanced at the food that he hadn't quite finished, "That sea monster better finish his food too." she said with a small smile and ate some more rice.[/size]

"Whatch out for pirates huh? You're silly. You silly willy." he meant to say teasingly but made it sound way too cute.
Mathew looked down upon his plate and realized that he himself had stopped eating. It seemed that his mountains of rice were growing faster than he could deplete them. He ran a finger around the rim of his golden plate, and it curved up into a bowl. He dumped the remainder of the rice in his mouth, finishing it off in what couldn't have been more than five seconds, all while saying "nom nom nom..."
He leaned back in his chair, a defined curve on his stomach that wouldn't last till the end of tommorrow. He rubbed his belly with his right hand, a wild grin on his face and his eyes closed.
