It was a simple plan.
You go in, you take what you need, you leave. If anybody were to get in your way, you simply hit their heads together until they get off your tail. However, anybody who is in the business will tell you that things do not always turn out as planned. You may not accomplish things in a timely manner, or you may run into someone who is much more of a threat than you believed. Today appeared to be one of those days, sadly, and they found themselves working upon improvisation. Not that it was difficult, it just required a bit more of an ability to - for lack of a better term - keep your balance.
For the blonde, it was a literal sense. She had backed the man into the corner, a playful smirk lighting up her face like a match. A fistful of shirt fabric was curled in one delicate hand, the other balled in a fist. One heeled boot was planted firmly on the ground, the other on the wall only a short distance away from the man's shoulder. Despite the fact that she wasn't particularly large or bulky, the man seemed terrified. There were already a few bruises forming on his face from the young woman, and he didn't want to acquire any more from a girl with a good right hook.
Her brother's balance wasn't really a concern at the moment. He had forced a crowbar into the cash register, prying open the reserve of money. Shortly after emptying it, he had moved on to the safe that was situated below the counter, hidden. He normally wouldn't have robbed a butcher shop, but he had noticed quite a spike in sales. He had also noticed the fact that there was one shop telephone, and no other sort of emergency alarm system. Sure, there were knives scattered about, but if nobody could pick them up, they did absolutely no good.
The store had closed up, the light of the moon playing through the slats in the blinds and barely lighting the room. It was no matter, the Magicman had simply pulled up a slight illusion and the entire room was cast in red light for only him and his sister. The illusion was simply a mosquito buzzing on one slab of meat, nothing that he really needed to focus on, but the use of his powers forced the crimson haze to form. Like his sister, he was smirking slightly as he straightened up.
"Let's go, we got it."
Libra's smile cracked, and she pushed a curl from her face. "So soon?" Her voice seemed taunting as the grin faded even more. "We can't prevent him from talking. The only ways to do that would be to either knock him unconscious, take him with us, or..."
"No." His answer was dead-set, completely serious, and the twin peered at his sister. He crossed his arms and scowled slightly. "That isn't an option, and would only make us appear even more suspicious. I'm not going to start killing people because you want to get away with more. I'm not like that British bomber man. And neither are you. It's not and option."
The girl rolled her eyes and snorted. "I wasn't being serious about that. It's a big deal." And with that, she sent one more punch at the man's face. He tensed in pain, gasping, before his eyes slid closed. He even sighed as everything went black, and the sister shrugged as she removed her foot from the wall and allowed the man to fall. She shrugged before casting a bored look at her brother. "You know I wouldn't be able to kill anyone. Besides, there's no fun in that."

Suddenly, a telepathic voice said to the two, "A butcher shop? A butcher shop....You know, I've seen alot of weird things during both night and day, but, I have to admit, I don't think I've ever seen a BUTCHER SHOP robbery. You two are either very crazy or very smart, and, I have no idea which."

"Neither do I, Spiritus, but I'm banking on crazy. We seem to run into alot of those. But hey, I'd be all for it if these two were protesting legally or something, God forbid.", Shift called out, replying to her ghostly teammate aloud as she landed on the floor, boots making a satisfying 'thwack' as she hit the ground, having shifted from spider to human teenager in a second and a half. God, she hated shifting into insects - they had such weird minds, and their senses always played havoc with her usual human ones when she shifted back.
But there was no time to indulge in weakness; the owner of the shop, or at least of the emplyees, was down and out. Not dead, hopefully, but maybe unconsious. As the peirced Teen Titan straightened up, her eyes moved from the butcher to the twins. The girl looked dangerous, but the guy looked...well, he looked sort of like Serenity. Not physically, not at all physically, but more like he was along for the ride and would give a hand to his partner if need be. In other words, a good sort of person. 'Great. Another well-meaning tag-along to help ruin the city.', the pointy-eared girl thought to herself, uncaring if Spiritus overheard her thoughts.
"So - breaking and entering, theft, harrasment...am I missing anything?", Athena asked, her voice faux-polite and obviously coldly unempathetic. She didn't really care why people did the stupid, dangerous things they did, she just wanted to make sure they didn't do the same things again. Or, at least, for a while - it was amazing how many bad guys broke out of jail only a month or so into their sentences.

The blonde found herself rolling her eyes. People honestly never appreciated intelligence, did they? Every great scientist was considered mad in his day. This was a bit of different situation, she realized with a smirk, but the concept was the same general idea. She placed her hands on her hips and swiveled around to face the leader of the Titans. She plastered a smile on her face that was about as transparent as glass, doing a horrible job of masking her annoyance.
"Well, you may want to get our names down first. Y'know, keep up with the legal side of things." Libra waved a hand in the air as if it were no big deal. "And if you stick around long enough, I'm absolutely positive you could write us down for another couple of counts." She giggled in a fake fashion, the cold edge still glinting, and took a few steps closer to her brother.
"Maybe we don't want to mock them," Magicman mused softly to his sister. He was normally the timid one who was ready to bolt at any given moment, but it'd been a while since he'd gotten away with anything. After his twin had broken her leg, he'd been put on a short period of vacation time. He tugged absently at the pair of goggles strapped around his head with one hand, the other hovering near a card that was attached to his shirt. On his own, he almost would have looked like a walking circus act.
In a way, he was.
He cast a glance about, trying to detect the first voice. He could see Shift, she was right there. The other one wasn't visible. His brow creased slightly as his hands began to glow faintly once more in the dark. The floor suddenly seemed to illuminate, glowing softly to cast more light about the room. A moment later, and the teenager vanished, doubling his illusions to make himself invisible to everybody but his teammate.

"I'd love to know your names. ...Off the record.", Shift said, a note of flirt creeping into the shape shifters' voice. The girl was cute, and -- well, she always had had a thing for girls who looked like they could kick her teeth in. Probably the masochist in her or something. And besides, even if she didn't score a date - unproffessional, really, but she needed something to distract her from the godamned idiots blowing up buildings and gaint turtles rampaging through the city - but even if that didn't happened, it would probably fluster one or both of the dynamic duo.
Maybe it would give Spiritus a chance to butt in, knock one of them out, or at least spook them some and give her an opening. Or maybe not; the two so boldly standing meters away looked like they were used to being thrown curve-balls. And that just annoyed her, adding to the list of other things she was annoyed about - the b and e, the assualt (not murder; the man was groaning and rubbing his head, she could see) and the all-around shitty-ness of them being theives in the first place.
And then Spencer had dissapeared, and the shape shifter grimaced and bit back a groan. She couldn't help but mutter about her annoyance, though, even as she kept a sharp, pointed ear out for the male's movements; "I f-ing hate teleporters!" Was every villian in Jump getting secondary teleporting powers or something? Was she the only super that had to wear herself out flying across town, flapping her arms like some demented - well, bird?
