The training room was as unremarkable as she had remembered. Punching bags over here, a boxing ring over there. Several weightlifting sets. The main difference today were the moving targets near the ceiling. She had talked to little Bats about installing these babies. They all moved at different speeds, were different sizes, and had different paths. Lian couldn't very well slack on her training, could she? "No One Is Ever Finished Learning". She needed that on a T-shirt, that was for sure. Setting her bag, quiver, and bow down in the middle of the room, she was thankful that no one else had the same idea on training today. Or at least so far. Lian secured her hair in a ponytail and rolled her shoulders before stretching her arms out. The little black targets moved around the room, seemingly taunting her as she stretched. She could see the work they put into them, though. Many of them would switch up their paths, keeping unpredictable. Lian slipped off her shoes carefully, placing her socks in them, and setting it all by her bag. With a Cheshire grin that her mother would have been proud of, Lian picked up her bow and a single arrow, only to set the grip between her toes and notch the arrow. She slowly let out a breath before placing her hands on the mat and slowly raising into a hand-stand. Lian concentrated, eyeing her target, one of the slower moving ones. Her other foot came up, and grabbed the string tight. Another deep breath. In..... out..... in..... and she released the bowstring, watching as the arrow sailed through the air... and hit the wall. "Damn it." Lian groaned in frustration as she stood, before shaking out her arms in an attempt to calm herself. It wasn't that hard. She only had to hit a moving target while her body was upside down, straining her neck to see it over her back, and not only holding the bow with her feet, but aiming and loosing the arrow with them as well. No biggie. "I got this, I got this." Lian coached herself, almost missing Oliver's constant drilling. It was quieter by herself, but it was odd. She took another deep breath, got into position again, and pulled the string tight. In.... out.... in.... thunk.

| Olivia pulled her hair back into a pony tail as she walked towards the training room, Josh had given her a heads up where to find the other archer. She had been on the lookout for Lian for a while. She had recently discovered her Archery skills could use some serious work, while yes she was still shooting at the olympic level that was not enough when it came to running around with a mask. She sometimes wished she had the gall to break into one of her fathers stashes and collect some of his trick arrows, somehow she doubted he had deleted her login. So far she had managed with hunting arrowheads and some blunt tips but she always wished she had some knockout gas arrows or something similar.
She sometimes wished she had the archery skills that Lian was currently showing off. There were days she wished her father had bothered to teach his daughters the basics of Archery rather then learn them from first her mother then Lian once she had asked. Then there were days she was glad he had kept his mitts off her training and let her become a master at different marshal arts, and learn all sorts of different skills from others.
She drew an arrow from her quiver and let loose and arrow watching it land right next to the one Lian shot herself. Not a very impressive shot but it was a game they had played when she was younger and still living at home, "When are you ever planning on using that skill Teach?" To the best of her knowledge Lian tended to fight crime wearing shoes.

Lian had been too immersed in her own concentration to hear the quiet opening of the training room door as it opened just before she had loosed the arrow. Even though she hadn't been alerted to Olivia's presence, the second arrow burying itself next to hers did not make her jump. The familiar voice behind her triggered an ear-splitting grin. "Ollie!" Lian placed her feet back on the ground, careful not to drop the bow from her foot before grabbing it and setting it down softly. She hadn't seen her friend-slash-almost-family in forever. Laughing, Lian pulled Olivia into a tight hug.
"I've missed you! And that one's just for fun. And showing off." Pulling back to see her face, she winked and stood back. "What have you been up to? I haven't seen you in forever." Olivia had came to Lian after she had started training with her father, and the two had been having their own little lessons on the side. She had asked Oliver why he had never taught his own daughter these skills, and he always mumbled something about it being too dangerous. Deep down, she knew he wanted her by his side, he just couldn't live with himself if Olivia had ever gotten hurt, using those skills against someone stronger than her. He slyly looked the other way when Black Canary had taught the girl, and Lian knew that somehow he knew about their own little training sessions. One day, the two would surprise him with both of their skills.
"So are you looking to get your little butt kicked again?"

| It was always strange seeing Lian again. Rather Lian had been allowed to join the party when she had been growing up, but even so she had always helped teach Ollie what she needed to... not stay out of trouble necessarily but at least manage to get herself out of whatever trouble she managed to get herself in. Her mother's training did help for most situations but there were times when a bad attitude, leather, and marshal arts didn't quite cut it. True her Canary Cry did help... when it wasn't going haywire.
A grin plastered itself across her face as Lian hugged her despite all the conflicting feelings. She always had a way of just being friendly, not something that was always around in the warehouse. "Well I've been patrolling the city and I got a job at the roundhouse."She always found it good to outline the positives especially around the heroes. They always wanted to hear how she was on the path to redemption or some such direction. It wasn't that she didn't think stoping murder and crime was a good thing, she did believe in that, she just found stealing to be a heck of a lot of fun. She took in the appearance of her friend and teacher. "But enough about me what have you been up to miss show-off." She grinned broadly at her friend to let her know it was a joke.
She laughed at her friends big words. While Lian was a far better Archer who would win most contests, Olivia was pretty sure she could take her friend in a fight, well if they left the bows out of it anyways. She wasn't quite as good as her mother by any means but she was good enough to train some of the other Rider's Deck members in hand to hand. Sure she deferred to others when it came to weapons but her mother had her covered otherwise. When she was younger she wasn't sure why her mother had been so keen to train her and not her brother, looking back now it was obvious why she didn't train Conner as fiercely as she did. "In your dreams, I haven't been sitting on my ass for these last few years." She was working her way up to ask for pointers on how to deal with armed gunnmen. She had spent the last three years running from a fight as a criminal rather then subduing her foes. She hated to admit that she was rusty but if she had to admit it to anyone Lian was the person she would go to.
