Serenity had found herself waking up in the middle of the night again. Well not waking up per say as being woken up from a possible vision of the future that was kind enough to accost her in her while she slept. This time she was being choked after Savage had caught up with her again. She had woken up in a blind panic having lived her own death in a vision and Sorina was clawing at her neck to wake her up, usually the dove was able to draw her back from sleep but not tonight. She had had to look him in the eye in this vision it was something that was going to stick with her for a while.
She had needed to get out and move, and somehow she ended up in one of her two places of contemplation, the church and the cemetery. The cemetery was usually where she would head but it was going to be rather loud tonight, some famous singer had died of an overdose. So to avoid all the craziness she sat here in the church pews, in the middle of the night.
She turned sharply as she heard a loud creak that belonged to the ancient oak doors of the church someone was leaving the sanctuary to get on with their life, if only she could too. She leaned on the armrest of the pew she was sitting on, her back hurt to much to sit back so she took what comfort she could get. ”So this is how it is, you’ll spend your days swindling Russian mob at poker and staying up all night?” The dove was concerned as Serenity still had yet to sleep a full night even since getting back.
Serenity’s hand began absentmindedly stroking Sorina’s feathers the physical (sort of) contact of her life long companion was comforting after not being able to see or hear her during captivity. ”Hey anyone stupid enough to keep playing cards with me deserves to have their money taken.” She really just needed enough money to be able to connect with her cayman island accounts, sure she could be traced back to Jump but anyone dumb enough to try to start something when so many hero’s were in town really was asking for trouble. Though with all the trouble with the nebula hanging around maybe not…
Sorina nudged up against her hand like a cat and cooed softly, ”So the fact that you haven’t been sleeping is off limits then?” Serenity shot a scowl over at the bird but didn’t stop stroking the apparition. ”You know drinking mountain dew and red bull is not going help those wounds heal. I’m not the only one who thinks so.” Serenity nodded in consent to the spirits words but still refused to talk back, Sorina could talk but she wasn’t quite ready yet.
Serenity sighed and looked at the stained glass windows, ”If they were dreams I would probably be able to sleep, I mean I see the end of the world at least once a year what’s a bad dream.” She glanced down at the dove and then back at the windows again, ”I keep seeing visions of them getting to me here and killing me.” She closed her eyes and opened them slowly when Sorina nudged her hand, Serenity opened her mouth again before the dove could ask the question on the tip of her tongue, ”Those occurrences aren’t very likely in the grand scheme of things but….”
Sorina could tell what she was trying to say, it was hard to separate the visions from the many other possible futures when she was experiencing some of her worst fears.
Serenity sighed glancing over her shoulder at Rena. She used to let people sneak up on her, she liked a little surprise in her life, but now she was careful to make sure that no one came up on her unawares. ”It’s good to see you back in the land of the living, I mean I saw you in visions but... It's just really good to see you."

Finally, a long time in coming. Rena had been refusing to accept the alternative, though didn't know the reasons behidn which she wanted to belive in. A young doctor had tipped her off during a checkup, after all, he had... connections to many eyes and ears in the City after all.
Silver hair, and used to hang with the Titans, the name of Mockingbird. Vague, but enough to look into, and when she followed, she could feel that little bird of hers. THe church was a strange place, hallowed grounds often repelled such things. Even if a religion may or may not be false, faith itself had power, in a way.
She didn't teleport in, nor did she exactly walk in. Rena hovered outside the church, her heart heavy in her chest, feeling as if it were going to bust through the ribs any moment. Serenity... are you really my friend? she thought. It'd been so long, and their friendship was weird to begin with. The possibility was there.
Rena had forgotten her coat against the brisk winds, though at least wore her trademarked long tshirt, her right arm from the shoulder to the wrist, bandaged completely, hiding a shame of hers, received after she died. She pushed open the door, the oak heavy enough not to be ripped from her hands by the winds, and stepped inside.
Down the hall, to the left, she followed into the main room used for mass. Once before, she had been here to see the mad priest for herself. Not before, and not since. Her footsteps didn't echo along the hallways, empty as the church was.
She stood for several seconds, hearing a distant clock she couldn't immediately spot tick. Tock... Tick.
'It's good to see you back in the land of the living.'
The spiritual medium. Serenity would have been able to tell right away if Rena was alive, or something just pretending to be Rena. It was the former, as indicated, though. "Why..." she asked, wanting the one question answered.
"Why didn't you try and find me? I looked for you..." she said, her voice different from before. Cocksure, and ever a smile born of borderline insanity, was gone.
Rena's once proud voice waivered, and was silent, though not a whisper, as if she had her fill of noise, or a sore throat. Rena had indeed looked, though lacked the foresight and information network, to track a precog that was used to running and hiding, even with her newfound senses.

The spirit squeaked irritably when she looked up in the face of one of the city's most feared criminals. She may not be the most evil of the city's underbelly but she was one of the most flashy, and loved pissing of the teen titans, or used to. She didn't seem to be the same anymore, Serenity had never seen Rena in quite this state. She was never quite this unsure. It seemed that Sorina didn't see it that way, "Two super villains in one day, Serenity are you insane. You just waltz in here like they aren't on the most wanted list and" Serenity swatted the dove. Yes they loved each other but they very rarely got along especially when it came to Serenity's choice of friends. The dove gave her friend a shocked look, "Go find a graveyard." She pushed herself off the pew and turned to face her friend fully, the last time she had laid her own two eyes on Rena she had been burying her. The dove quieted down, first Mathew then Rena it seemed Serenity was destined to make bad choices in life. "Why didn't you try and find me? I looked for you..." Serenity paled at the accusation, in all honesty she had been actively avoiding visions from Jump in the last year. "I didn't know you were back. I only found out yesterday and Mathew needed immediate intervention, well I'm sure you heard about it on the news." That was an understatement, when she had found that Rena was actually alive after all this time she may have whooped in joy - very unlike her. She had avoided Jump for so long that she didn't even know the good news, well for her not for Jump City. "And I did look for your spirit after you died. Trust me I looked everywhere, you were just gone. How are you even alive now?"Tagged: Shei

That Sorina was probably around here, but Rena didn't try to look like she once did. Anger, exasperation, Rena felt these things in its stead. "that's hardly an excuse..." she muttered, her voice trailing at the end. It was quavering, but lacked the inherent danger her moods once had. Even with friendly hangouts, Rena was likely to do her villanous activities, often including explosions. She was a villain for a reason, after all, and not much of a joke, despite the 'humourous', more like insultive, comments she made during an encounter.
It was a few simple steps to close the distance. Tep, tep tep, her feet fell one after another. Never a big person, but you could never deny that Rena didn't lack pizazz her smaller size lacked. Boisterous attitude, and a talent for theatrics. Charisma was an often overlooked trait. "I was dead, then alive, okay?" she said with finality. Topic of her death? Over! But there was a lot more to it, even without Serenity's powers of precognition.
Rena's hands shook. Eye contact kept breaking, and glancing to the shadows of the corners. Was she... scared? It certainly seemed so. She clenched her fingers into a fist calming the jittering in part.
"You weren't dead... where were you?!" She asked, her voice rising, gripping the pew between them. No danger, but a temporary loss of temper. Rena had been angry before, but had she ever lost her temper? Rarely if ever.
Rena sighed inwardly, calming herself, her hands falling to her side. "are you even my friend?" she asked quietly, almost too quietly. It it was a two letter answer, Rena wasn't quite sure what she would do, to be honest.
Backpedal, "nevermind," Rena tried. She'd rather have the illusion of friendship at this point, than losing Serenity completely, if the answer was no.

SERENITY SWANSON know it all Sorina was shocked at Serenity's ernest words. There were times when the blonde didn't know everything but she rarely admitted it to anyone, and not knowing a -Sorina hated to admit it- friend as close as Rena wasn't back from the dead hit her harder then her companion was likely admit. The dove wished it wasn't true but if Serenity had known Rena was alive, they would have been in Jump City much sooner then they had.
So much had piled on after Rena's death, and at the top of the list was Serenity's single-minded hunt for her killer. After taking off with a kitchen knife to hunt them down herself, with no regard for her own life. The dove didn't want that to happen to her companion again. Her time stopping Savage had focused her in a way she hadn't been before, she separated herself from tragedy more and was able to function in spite of such events, or more so then before.
The spirit landed on the pew letting the blonde act as a barrier between Rena and herself, the villainess had once managed to hurt her in battle she wasn't about to take chances if she was advancing. "I was dead, then alive, okay?"
Serenity, while feeling guilty, was also concerned about her friend. The shaking hands and the sporadic eye contact painted a picture for her. She didn't need a degree in psychology to see Rena was nervous about this conversation. Dying and coming back to life wasn't exactly the easiest subject for anyone on a good day. Sure the seer would get get answers at some point but for now she was just glad to see her friend alive and in one piece. She clanked away from her friend before she could get her accusation out.
"You weren't dead... where were you?"
The medium was still trying to form her response to Rena's words. She hadn't been dead for all this time but there were moments when she had wanted to. "Oh, so taking down Savage's government and freeing the hostages counts for nothing if you didn't die." Serenity tried not to take it personally that the dove was in a bad mood. Neither Mathew or Rena had been her favorite people and both of them in one day, especially when Matt had also been attempting to poison the city. It had been a long day and it still wasn't quite over.
"Are you even my friend? Nevermind."
Serenity sighed, and glanced over at her friend wincing slightly at how the movement pulled at her still fresh wounds on her back. "Of course we're still friends. We always were." Just because she didn't see one important life changing detail in the future didn't change that. As long as her heart was still beating she would always try to help her friends become better. "As for where I was, I toppled Vandal Savage's new regime, was captured, escaped and made my way here." She may had skimmed through what had happened, especially her time going to school. She would tell her friend everything, just when she was slightly more calm.
